I am not homophobic, I have been around gays before.

Yes, gay gene is usually the primary driver that makes people gay. If her brother is gay, there is a high probability that you and her may have gay kids. If not, your second generation children may have gay children, the gay genes is somewhat atavistic. This has scientific proof to it, I am not just talking gibberish.

If you don't want to have gay children (I think most of men wouldn't), I would just fuck her and be gone like the wind, unless she has other outstanding characteristics that will compensate for her gay genes.

I would also refrain from using any homophobic criticism towards gays when talking to her. Treat her brother as you would treat any other men, shake his hands when you meet him and talk to him if he seems eager/interested in talking to you. Some gay people are very interesting people (they are not trying to have sex with every man they meet), put the homophobia aside for a second and let the conversation flow.

There's no such thing, it's multifactorial, nothing as complex as sexuality could ever be some single "gene" primarily because sexuality is a learned behavior in many ways, though there are biological inputs to it.

Nature versus Nurture... in each case the woman's Mother was a very strong willed woman and dominated over her father who tended to be submissive to the mother - in one case her Mother was a Medical Doctor with her own practice.

The son (her brother) was effeminate and gay and deferential to the Mother's will from growing up in this environment. The daughter followed in her mother's footsteps and I could see a pattern developing.

Rudebwoy, my impression of you is that you're a sharp dude who has substantial experience with girls and dealing with people in general. You should trust in yourself that in the unlikely event this ever becomes an issue you will know exactly what to do/say. I don't think there's a reason to doubt your ability to handle this new situation.

If you're interested in the girl then try her on for size, it is likely that nothing will be different than it ever has been with others.

Entertaining the conjecture about gay genes etc isn't doing anything to further find out what this girl is about or if you dig her, it's just adding mostly inconsequential noise to your thoughts.

I don't know where some others get their experience from, but most gays I have known do not give two shits about being an advocate or interjecting their "beliefs", especially in the circumstances you describe. They simply prefer sucking cocks or rubbing muffs together, respectively. Most are not what we see in news stories of crazy SJW's. You co-exist with far more of them than you realize most likely.

What if the brother lived in another city and you didn't meet him or know of this until a year down the line? Would it make a difference to you at that point? If not, what would be the practical difference from that compared in the current scenario?

I would not get too caught up in the academics of this, as I said it is likely that the brother being gay will be of zero consequence for your purposes.

I woudln't care, dude. People should love who they want to love without being bashed for it. Slut shaming, etc makes women not want to be sluts. If a girl wants to have sex with someone, she should be applauded, not shamed. Same with gays, it doesn't matter. Sex should be promoted in our society and not shamed.

Not necessarily himself, but for example he could have a fuckbuddy who has acquaintances among drug dealers. Or, he could have a fuckbuddy who is a thief - it's not uncommon for drug addicts to resort to thievery in order to be able to pay for whatever stuff they're on.
