That ruined my mood, probably for the next week. How low can a bitch go? Shit, come on, it's like taking a selfie next to your deceased grandmother in her coffin and putting a halo emoji above her head and snapchatting yourself; I can't wrap my head around how entitled someone has to be to use a tragedy for attention. This, if nothing else, is perhaps the #1 sign of the decline, when one becomes desensitized and nonchalant about death itself.
EDIT: She defends herself with another tweet, saying she happened to take the selfie as the news of the shooting broke, and she says the irony of the coincidence is regrettable on her part. https://twitter.com/DebraMessing/status/...6871023616
FURTHER EDIT: Regardless, social media activism is often an ineffective tactic. California's gun restrictions couldn't stop a shooting, what can a selfie do? All it did here was anger more people.
Two things is that really Debra Messing? That's not bad for 47.
But to the bolded, I fail to see the irony that she kept alleging to. As deus-ex points out it is an "extreme coincidence," but we all know there was nothing coincidental about it.
TO make this situation ironic: Apple makes a BB gun app with a USB port (kind of like 4 square) that actually shoots real BBs when you touch the screen. Messing, as anti-gun, has the app for "research purposes," and accidentally "triggers" the app, injuring herself in selfie-taking mode against gun violence. Now that, ladies and gentleman, would be irony.

The timing is 100% not a co-incidence. She has considered the photo before posting… Why? The photo has been edited with photoshop tools, like wrinkle smoothing and filters.

Oh yeah? How does she explain the wearing of what looks like some SJW anti-gun t-shirt at that exact "ironic" moment the report she is "horrified" at is screening. Also, given the above ACTUALLY horrifying pics of Debra Messy (as she will now be known) could it just be that she had a chance to whack on the war paint after donning said t-shirt in order to get the perfect tweet?
Or is my cynicism getting the better of me again?

And just like you gents predicted, the ID'ing of the shooter as a Person of Color (PBUH) and the victim as a white male has caused CNN to take the story down from its place of prominence as the major headline and slot it in the sidebar along with 'Trump's Obsession with Himself' and 'King Tut's Dagger Made From Meteorite'
Nothing to see here, move along

RE: Shooting On UCLA Campus, 2 People Injured
He'd accused the professor he shot of...stealing his source code.
Quote:Klug, 39, was an associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering. Sarkar had accused him of stealing his computer code and giving it to someone else, according to police. A source called the gunman’s accusations “absolutely untrue.”
Klug had been the target of Sarkar’s anger on social media for months. On March 10, Sarkar called the professor a “very sick person” who could not be trusted.
“William Klug, UCLA professor is not the kind of person when you think of a professor,” Sarkar wrote. “He is a very sick person. I urge every new student coming to UCLA to stay away from this guy,” Sarkar wrote. “He made me really sick. Your enemy is my enemy. But your friend can do a lot more harm. Be careful about whom you trust.”
Klug, who was described by friends as a kind and caring man, worked diligently to help Sarkar finish his dissertation and graduate, even though the quality of Sarkar’s work was not stellar, one source said.
“Bill was extremely generous to this student, who was a subpar student,” the person said.

Latest is that the shooter was "a graduate student despondent about his failing grades," so my money is on Asian, overachiever category.
Just looked at the guy's picture, he is Indian, so he is Asian.
Well that's the unspoken rule, isn't it? If the news media doesn't immediately release the identity of the shooter, then it's not going to be a white guy.

RE: Shooting On UCLA Campus, 2 People Injured
The other recent mass shooter I'd referenced in my above post was Dionisio Garza III, who shot eight people, one of whom died.
Maybe the reason white guys like Elliot Rodger and Dylan Roof get more publicity isn't so much because they're white, but because they succeed at killing more people when they go on these sprees. Rodger killed six and Roof killed nine.
Garza killed on and Sarkar killed two. Compared with Rodger and Roof (or the Columbine kids), that's not much. Maybe the media isn't as biased as I assume, at least in this respect.
As for Debra Messing, expecting an actress not to be narcissistic and make things all about her is like expecting the sun not to rise in the east. This is an age-old thing. The world nods in agreement to actresses, ignores what they say, and then goes to see if there's any topless shots.
I, of course, am above such immature behavior!

RE: Shooting On UCLA Campus, 2 People Injured
I think Garza got less publicity because he was a PTSD suffering Marine that served in Afghanistan. He was also a big Trump supporter. Not sure if that made it worse or not. The troops suffering from PTSD are not sexy to cover regardless of their race. They are not going to get much run for being crazy and shooting guns because there is no mystery there. A clean cut kid, of any race, from a good background going berserk and killing people will always draw more attention. They have no prior history of violence, they were not trained to kill anyone before, they do not have notches on their rifles, they usually are not poor or low income folks just trying to get by. It's the big drama they want to see. The big fall from the top rope.
Serial killers with ASPD (Anti-Social Personality Disorder), draw women in for the same reason. Their lives would indicate to you that they had plenty to lose in life, but the fact that they cannot feel emotions like a normal man, pulls women in like a black hole.
Women consume the bulk of mainstream media, so whatever drives more clicks or trends, gets the most run. It's really not that tough to notice. If you study history, why does Jack the Ripper become a pop icon, when murder in a time such as that, was somewhat common? Again, it's about the fall and the process of the fall. The ASPD man with the heart of an icebox. Women cannot understand a man they cannot control with pussy, etc. That's like a glitch in their matrix. Women are never interested in the logical answer of something, they are more interested in the process of how it got there. They love the journey.
