"He told me how he imagined the death of Harvey Weinstein, a hilarious, weirdly specific fantasy that I’ll share with you in a moment. We talked about luxury, too."

Below are some of the quotes that are making headlines, first his opinion on his "disappointment" with Hillary over her Harvey Weinstein statement:

Bourdain: [W]atching the Clinton apology on Weinstein, and [Asia’s] watching this statement, there was a lot of anticipation. People were really hoping she’d come out with a… I don’t know. Let’s just say with something different. I immediately tweeted my disappointment, very much shaped by what I saw around me. And I will tell you, that was really f***ing frightening, the reaction to that. You know, I voted for her.

Bustillos: I did, too.

Bourdain: I was really disappointed with the statement. But even by expressing that, the way that my comment was turned, very neatly—suddenly I wasn’t expressing disappointment in her statement; I was blaming her for Harvey Weinstein’s crimes. After Bourdain admitted he had "no love for Clinton," Bustillos asked, "Should we have gotten rid of Bill Clinton after the Lewinsky scandal?" "No," said Bourdain. But then he said this:

Bourdain also had some unflattering things to say about Barack Obama, whom he found "very unconvincing in public, much of the time," though he found him in person to be "gracious, graceful, real, funny" and not calculating. "Minute one he started f***ing with us," said Bourdain. "He promised transparency, he like—more whistleblowers were prosecuted than at any time. There’s not one f***king banker in jail. Not one! Jail me one f***in’ banker! These people stole nine million houses!"

Bourdain also described the death he imagined for Weinstein. "My theory of how he goes is he's brushing his teeth in a bathroom, he's naked in his famous bathrobe, which is flapping open, he's holding his cell phone in one hand because you never know who on the Weinstein board has betrayed him recently, and he's brushing his teeth," he said.

On Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, Bourdain said, "Does Jared tweeze his eyebrows? They look manscaped. Those are not natural eyebrows. It’s like Howdy Doody time. ... Can you see eight guys standing around, and Jared’s out of the room? And they’re all co-conspirators, they’re all saying, 'ey don’t worry bout Jared, he’s f***in’ solid, the guy will stand up, he ain’t gonna say nothin’.' No one has ever said that! In response to Bustillos celebrating the indictment of 13 Russians back in February, Bourdain said, "I think this is most useful because it makes it so much more difficult for Trump to fire Rosenstein or Mueller, now that you’ve shown, in a not offensive way: Nobody’s accusing you of anything! I think Trump’s going down for the money. Collusion is tricky to prove, it’s the money. And once they get too close, in my view he will declare victory, congratulate himself on the fantastic job he’s done and resign, saying the job is too small for him."

I think another factor in Bourdain 's suicide that many people may have overlooked is actually pretty obvious: he was a chef. For decades. Insane hours, high stress, and shit pay considering how hard you're working.

Just look at Gordon Ramsay's wrinkly ass face and consider the fact that he's only 50. Not to mention that after you're done busting your ass for 12 or 14 hours you're likely to hit the bottle or a snort a line of coke. It's the kinda work that simply isn't beneficial to your physical or mental health and I bet it took a heavy toll on Bourdain.

Did he off himself because of the chef life? Probably not. Do I think it was a factor that lead to his mental struggles and suicide? Definitely.

Bourdain was an overgrown college liberal (in the nicest way possible). It always strikes me as strange when older men are so staunchly liberal.

The guy was one for instant gratification and rebellion, which is what made him so watchable and relatable. Viewed through the lens of TV it makes for a really incredible and charismatic presenter. But the reality that I guess no one sees is the 60+ year old man who still believes in having some overly invested soul mate relationship with a mental alternative chick.

If Bourdain had the mental fortitude to just exploit his status and good head of hair to run harems of women like many Hollywood celebrities, he likely would have avoided much of the pain and suffering in his life. But he stayed the cliche liberal romantic; a former heroin habit and career in alternative writing. He failed to grow up in many ways and he payed the ultimate price.

I love Chef Ramsey. Coolest celebrity chef ever in my opinion. Gotta say though, dude is a bonafide workaholic though. I remember him telling a story about butcher shops in the UK back in the old days, and how his uncle had one, and how much he admired his uncle's work ethic and pride in his craft, etc. By the time he finished talking about his uncle, I realized that his uncle was likely a workaholic too.

I have a few in my family on my mother's side. Let's put it this way. I don't expect a single one of them to hit 80 years old. So far none of them have crossed 73. One has already gotten cancer in the 60s.

He has a chance to hit 80, being rich and whatnot, but if what he looks like on the outside is weathered as fuck, can you imagine the rest? Who knows. He stays in good shape. Maybe he has lowered his cortisol and is on TRT for all we know.

No kidding. It is a little know fact that in most countries, doctors especially ones in high stress specialties have a SIGNIFICANTLY lower life expectancy than average; strokes and heart attacks being very common.

Nothing wrong with a few days or weeks of concentrated effort at a time but consistent stress over years and decades could be a bigger killer than smoking.

He was on Joe Rogan years ago and I guess that is when he just got started with his T.V show. He looks and sounds much more relaxed than what you see in the interviews during 2018. I never watched any of his episodes on his travel show, but I sat through the whole video with Joe Rogan because this was so interesting.

That guy traveled to so many places around the world, he learned so many things and had countless interesting stories to tell. If he wanted to get out of the show and retire, he could have easily written some books, invest in a few restaurants and not have any idiot telling him what to do.

I call bullshit for three reasons:

1). A false accusation of sex with a minor is libel/slander, even when the accused person is a public figure (in most cases, you cannot libel/slander a public figure, but when you're leveling charges like "child molestation" against a star, that would be heard in court). Had this charge really been made-up by Bennett, she could have taken him to court and won.

2). No one gives a "friend" $380 thousand dollars to avoid bad publicity and to deal "compassionately" with him. This is close to half a million dollars. How did they come up with this amount?

3). Which brings us to the third and final point. If Bennett "demanded" the $380,000 figure, that's called "blackmail" and is illegal. If she was truly not guilty, she could have easily set up a sting and had him polygraphed...or just not paid and exposed him as a blackmailer.

What innocent person gets blackmailed for $380K and just pays up? Fake blackmail charges are regularly leveled against stars all the time, but since they're B.S., the stars sic lawyers on their false accusers. The fact that she paid makes me think there was validity behind the charges.

Bourdain had far more than the 1.2 million that shows up in his public estate. The will reveals he set up a trust naming his ex wife as trustee in 2016. (I would assume then based on him naming his ex wife trustee the bulk of the money will go to his daughter.) This money would not show up in the estate. (Bourdain would likely want to avoid the estate tax, be able to keep the public out of knowledge as to how much assets he actually had and would likely use the trust to set out distributions...i.e. daughter gets 1/5th the wills assets every 3 years etc.)

He probably did suggest she consider paying it off. If you have any idea how much the legal cost would be to fight it and then the career ramifications you'd probably consider that too. Pretty much anyone who is a multi millionaire will have experienced legal issue(s) at some point. (Sometimes things minor like drafting a contract, other times more serious...complex breach of contract, contested divorce etc.) I'm confident that Bourdain given his success levels has had experience with the legal system himself.

From my experience in Litigation I tend to disagree with a number of these points.

1) Libel / Slander counterclaims are great and all but when your accuser has next to no assets and you are making million(s) per year...you end up having almost everything to lose. I don't know Bennett's assets but I would assume they weren't particularly high.

2) Counsel will regularly recommend to pay even if they think it's very likely you will be successful in your defence. I know shocking right...They have to weigh what would be the perceived loss if they were unsuccessful, and what be the loss in the meantime during the suit. The suit would've probably gone on for a few years. If between Bourdain and Argento this comes out to only 1 months income (which wouldn't be shocking) then it may very well have made sense for them to just pay it rather than incur 6 figure legal bills and take on the tremendous risk associated with a suit. You have to understand whether you are guilty or not of something in a civil case theres always risk. I've lost cases that I was shocked to lose and won cases where I in all honesty thought the chances of success were very low.

3) Again theres a difference in blackmail and a demand letter. Likely what Bennett did is hire legal counsel who demanded $_____ for ____damages associated with _____.

Additionally you have to understand even if they get a judgment in libel / slander for 7 figures which could be their potential loss due to such accusations if Bennett is having significant difficulties for whatever reason for all intensive purposes the judgment may very well be virtually uncollectable.

The fact she mentioned he had sued his family members as well if false would be incredibly risky for her to do. I expect theres some level of truth to her statement and it read like something that she had counsel proof read / edit prior to releasing.

I have no idea whether Argento is guilty of this act. I can tell you that the payment of settlement monies does not by any means mean that she did engage in the act.

Keep in mind $380,000 to them is probably like $3,800 to joe average.
