To Silverman, male sperm and a fetus growing inside a women’s womb are analogous.

The rationale behind her plan to regulate men’s sperm flows from the fact that multiple states already require women to undergo an ultrasound examination, showing them their baby, in utero, before they make the decision to abort the pregnancy.

So, Silverman says, if the law mandates that women submit to an ultrasound before aborting a life, then men should be subject to a similar procedure whenever they ejaculate.

“What we’ll do is, it’s a real simple procedure,” she joked. “We take a really long needle-like basically GoPro camera and we put it down your penis hole, urethra … then down into your testicular sack.”

“We’re going to show you the ultrasound, so you can see the life in your balls,” she said.

As one of Hollywood’s most vulgar liberal comics, Silverman took a brief break from bashing Christians and made headlines when she announced her support for Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton.

Silverman was 1 of 128 celebrities to sign an open letter endorsing the socialist senator from Vermont’s bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Some might try to defend her comments by saying she's a comedian but remember there's many a true word spoken in jest.

You could look at this thread as being about Sarah Silverman and deem it irrelevant if you want. I was looking at it from the perspective of giving us a thread to discuss the flaws in her logic, not so much talk about why she's an idiot for saying it.

The problem is there is a major and essential difference between an embryo and a sperm or egg. A sperm or egg is a component of a human being. An embryo is a whole human being, from the moment if begins to exist.

Don't get me wrong, I found this story interesting and thus think the thread has value... but you want to discuss the logic behind the idea that sperm cells are morally equivalent to fetuses? And I'm not even a pro-lifer.

Sometimes, a statement is so self-evidently retarded that you feel stupid even for arguing against it. This is like trying to reason with a 3 year old who insists that a TV is a box with people inside of it.

The fact we've talked about how feminists want to control male sexuality (e.g. discouraging males from heterosexual sex, being against sex dolls, etc.) and this being an example of a popular female "comedian" coming out to say she thinks male masturbation should be "legislated" whether she was "joking" or not was something I was curious to see what other RVF'ers might think about it. Admittedly, I've never been a fan of Sarah Silverman. But after watching this video from Gavin McInnes I liked her even less. Some of her comments during her interview with Vanity Fair are not only idiotic but clearly pandering to the PC-Brigade. I suppose this is to be expected given that she lives in Hollywood, an unapologetic leftist echo chamber, though. It seems she's transitioned from being a shock comic willing to offend both sides of the political aisle to being just another SJW like all the rest.

Agreed. Can't stand her comedy (which isn't even real comedy just stuff that would come out of a typical 8 year old's mouth) but she was pretty hot playing a sex counselor in one of the episodes of The League.

High-profile Jewish women will often spout nonsense (third-wave feminism being the most egregious example) and just by looking at Silverman and listening to her talk you can tell she is suffering from some sort of mental illness.
