I find it odd that I'm posting this, mainly because in my circle friends, I'm usually the one accused for having unconventional taste in women. However, I'm looking at a bunch of the girls that various pick up instructors have approached/banged ie. Yad, that Sasha guy from that video, Asian Playboy, Mystery, and Krauser, and I have to say that in my opinion, MOST of these girls are in the 5-6 range. I'm not saying these guys aren't great at game, but it makes me wonder: they get paid that much money and they work so hard just to bang... girls like that?

Then again, in my opinion girls in the 8-10 range are EXTREMELY rare. I always find it odd when people on forums scoff at 7s or below. Logically speaking, 7s are a good 2 points ABOVE THE AVERAGE WOMAN! Wouldn't that put her solidly in the cute/pretty category? Having worked as a club promoter, MOST of the pretty girls I meet are 7s or borderline 8s. The only girls I see in the 8-10 range are some go-go dancers (some....), girlfriends of MMA fighters, and import models. These are girls who, if they found the right exposure, could be famous for their looks.

The 1 - 10 scale has its problems. Reality is that a majority of girls realistically rank in the 4 - 6 range if your scale is symmetrical, so most pick-up vids will feature "normal" girls.

However, I personally don't care what a guy ranks girls since my own eyes can do the real rating.

I like how Roosh includes example pics of girls when taking about them (see the Poland thread). Instead of ranking girls maybe including example pics when talking about local women would be better.

I don't see it as much in terms of underrating versus overrating--I just feel that there's a tendency among some of the figures the OP mentioned to get a little too thrilled with their prey.

The kind of women you prefer are different. You prefer cute asian girls while other guys have other tastes.

I don't even bother to rate girls on a scale of 1 - 10, it's pointless and means nothing. I'd either fuck her or I wouldn't, that's all I need to know.

Agreed. You only need to take a look through the archives here to see how counter productive getting hung up on ratings can be. I prefer the binary scale, 0 or 1.

The one use for the 1-10 is calibrating your game. You will have to run different game on girls of different hotness. But even then it has a lot to do with your status relative to hers, where you are and what sort of attention she's been getting (how many dudes have been salivating over her and buying her drinks recently).

Some math genius player will eventually quantify all this when we have departments of Mackology at institutions of higher learning. Until then I won't put much into ratings from people whose standards I'm not very familiar with.

Roosh gave a great framework here: http://www.rooshv.com/the-girl-score - but there's still so much subjective judgement and outside context that it's mostly useful when you're figuring out how YOU feel about a certain girl.

I disagree that there's massive differences in one guy's objective rating versus another. Yes, guys will often distort the ratings of girls that they've banged, or already know and are trying to bang, but not random girls that they don't know and are merely rating on the data presented before them. For the most part, I find that there's a different of a point in either direction. One guy's 7, might be another guy's 8, or vice-versa. There's no way my 4 is an 8 to another cat in RVF.

Also, there's the Internet Pink-Shift Phenomenon (my ridiculous term). The mass availability of pictures of hot girls since the advent of the web--and the widespread use of Photoshop--has skewed what's considered hot in pictures. Most guys will rate a girl lower in a picture than they would if the girl were in front of them.
