It is extremely common for post-op trannies to come to the realisation that they were simply gay. By that time, it's too late since the operation is kinda irreversible. It's one of the reasons that suicide post-op is several times higher than pre-op. These guys are mentally ill and need help. They don't need to be enabled or encouraged to chop off their dicks.

Gender dysphoria is a real thing, no? Of course these people have a mental illness which is why I have compassion for them. If they think the surgery is going to help them feel somewhat normal, then they should be able to do it, provided other people aren't forced to pay for it. And I'm sure many of them are simply gay but didn't realize it or something. That shit is sad.

Yes, it is a real thing, but it affects a minute percentage of people, less than 2% possibly even less.

There is a thread here explaining it, and it mentions a Doctor who came up with a theory that most trannies are just getting off on the idea of themselves as women/men. He does not advocate sex change surgery at all. Not surprisingly he isn't very popular with the surgeons making a lot of cash doing sex change ops.

It's part of the "you can be what ever you want to be/born that way" paradox that is so prevalent today.

It's a simple fact, every cell in your body AFAIK has different genes if you're male than if you're female. It isn't an opinion, it's a mechanical fact. If someone is gay that's no problem but it's a totally different thing.

It's like saying you don't want to put down 5'7" if you're 5'7".

Thankfully the American College of Pediatricians has come out against enabling this bizarre divorce from reality stuff in people under 18.

While I agree that the creature that this story features is somewhat ridiculous, I am struck by something that no one else is questioning:

Why the hell would a bank care about your gender? Why do they ask that question, and what do they do with the data?

As far as I'm concerned, a bank only needs my money, my identification to link me to my account, my phone number to call me if there is suspicious activity detected on my account, and maybe my fingerprints if I live in a country where identity theft is common. But otherwise, surely gender is irrelevant to the actual business of locking money up?

Maybe I'm just jealous of my personal information, but one should be able to opt out of sharing personal information that a bank has no business needing to know in the first place.
