RE: Optimizing Your Game: Voice
i think the deeper, more distinguished, controlled, polished, unique voice you have the better.
i've talked to people where i could listen to them speak all day, and others who i tune out immediately.
in my experience, enunciation, accent and meter/pauses and irregularities make you much more interesting and pleasant to listen to, than a whiny voice, sounding like a little girly man. also projecting the voice.
it's like the sirens in the odyssey. you should sound irresistable, as most of game is talking...

RE: Optimizing Your Game: Voice
I have noticed that speaking with a deeper voice gets me more attention from the girls initially than when I'm speaking with my voice being at my everyday pitch, which is neither high nor very deep.
It's physically tiring to maintain a different pitch, though. I Don't believe there is anything that can be done to change your pitch for good as pitch is controlled by the anatomy of your larynx primarily. You might be able to pull it off for one evening, but everyday...
That being said, it makes more sense to work at other aspects of your speech. Tempo, pauses, pronunciation etc....
Here is an interesting article related to the topic - there seems to be more to the male voice than just pitch.

Pitch, as with other qualities of your voice, can be changed, but it requires practice and vigilance initially. It's like having a flaw in your golf swing - it's been there as long as you can remember, and to avoid it, you have to make a conscious effort for a month or more. At some point, it will become natural, it will be your default so to speak. I mentioned earlier in the thread how I unintentionally lowered my pitch, and it's felt completely natural for years.
I've found a voice class close to me starting in a month, so I'm excited to start it. I'll post feedback on it as it comes along. Like I said, I think this is one of those facets of game that is incredibly important, but commonly overlooked. If you've never had a girl repeatedly say "what" to everything you say in a crowded bar, you might not relate.
Interesting link. I wonder if the connection holds among those who weight lift. Eg man A was weaker than B prior to lifting, but is now considerably stronger - does man A sound stronger now? It's possible, given that accuracy was consistent across all samples, including samples where one presumes there'd be lifters.
