I've made plans with a chick I met through mutual friends. She has followed through once but it wasn't really a date, I invited her to a competition I was in and it went pretty well she seemed interested. Now anytime I try to set something up she comes up with excuses what do I do? I quit talking to her. This lasts maybe a day or two before she sends me a text and against my better judgement I end up replying.

What do you gentlemen think? Wasting my time or no?

We've all been there. I wouldn't waste my energy. Game new broads and you'll forget about her in no time.

If you see her around and she talks to you don't mention the flakiness even if she brings it up. Ignore, dodge and reflect the conversation to something else.

How good looking is she ?
Anything below a 7 and you should be chasing hotter girls.

If she's 7 and above then make an appointment in a place that's not far for you to go back home or do other stuff in case she flakes again.

Follow Rawmeo's advice...law down the law how you want this to work and she will know not to mess you around. Do it in a serious bossy way like you would with a bratty child...not in a whiny complaining way like you are the child.

Something along the lines of "I'm not your gay texting buddy. If you are serious about wanting to spend time with me then stop making excuses and lets meet up on day x and place y."

This is clearly a popular school of thought in dealing with flakes that I dont entirely subscribe to.

On one hand it shows you being a man and setting up boundaries.

On the other hand this is probably just wasted energy, in the same vein of calling out girls who flake/their mistake. It shows her you are already invested in the situation.

I like your reply though Rawmeo, though I would cut the last sentence. The first part should already gives her a hint.

On another note, this certainly wont be the first time you get systematically flaked on. The more you hit on girls, the more you will getting flaked on.

So you need to figure out a way how to systematically deal with flake. Not just with this girl.

Other posters already gave you good tips.

Biggest part of not getting flaked on, and of the game itself, is careful screening. Screen out girls who are not very reliable (ish) from the approach.

Building pre-date attraction is paramount to flake elimination.

And finally, she can't flake on you if you are doing something you enjoy anyway. Build a life so that what you do for fun are also great date ideas. If she shows up, great, if not you are out and about doing what you like anyway.

Also, some girls are just cockteasers. They like stringing guys on with a hope that they can get her on a date then never shows up. Yours seem to be one. These girls even if you go on the date, chances are it will be shitty. Deal with her accordingly.

True, the important is to set your boundaries. Use any wording you want, but let her know that you won't accept more flake, and that you need an answer right now. You are the man, you make the boundaries.

If she still flakes, there are plenty of fish in the sea.

I run into a couple girls at bars or clubs that flaked on me, or even ones who were outright hostile to me at one point. I don't chase them, but I don't totally ignore them or give them ultimatums.

If I just act chill and relaxed the reaction is always the same, theyre pleasant and it's like they don't even remember it and it never happened. Even a girl who shouted "Fuck you!" at me a month ago. From their point of view, perhaps it didn't. Young women truly do seem to "live in the now."

Maybe they'll come around eventually. Til then it's keep calm and carry on (gaming other women.)
