Beyond Borders appreciation thread
After recent attacks against his character, I felt the need to shout him out as one of the best forum members. Period.

He gave me pages and pages of free advice in 2013. Not blog posts lifted from his personal site, but tailored advice specifically for me. Not many guys on here would be willing to do that. Plus, he didn't ask for a single dollar.

It changed my entire career trajectory, and helped me live for a sustained period in different European countries working from a laptop - the goal for many on here. I also know he helped several other members who I know off-forum in a similar fashion.

Whilst I no longer live location independent, his help has made me an in-demand copywriter for big businesses. I went from shitty sales jobs I hated...to working freelance as a copywriter due to his advice...now I work in high-end marketing as a senior copywriter, which is something I really enjoy. What a brilliant thing to do for someone when you have absolutely no monetary gain.

Those shouting him down need to take a look at themselves and realise what a fantastic forum this is due to guys like him.

RE: Beyond Borders appreciation thread
Count me in.

He's one of those who helped me and advised me on starting a freelance business, and I've also met him in person. I'm on a steady path to location independence, and I'm not sure I would have made this much progress if not for him and his advice. Men like him bring a lot of value to this forum, and that's why I stick around. It would be a damn shame if guys like him are driven off by petty arguments about politics or by character assassinations - including those within that train wreck of a thread about the girl who committed suicide. Sad.

In addition, he has the mark of a great writer. Why? Because his words change lives. Mine included.

BB, next round's on me when we meet next!

As a lurker over the last year, kicking an iv heroin addiction, fresh out of prison, and overall just a sadsack worthless mess of a human being he is one of the great posters on this forum that inspired me to chin up and get my shit together. Keep posting bb.

I PM'ed him asking him for the URL to his blog. He wouldn't deign to answer.

I had to ask someone else.

It's not a big deal, I know, but that's exactly the point. It would take him what, 2 or 3 seconds to answer?

RE: Beyond Borders appreciation thread
I was just considering doing this, glad you created this thread.

BB has given a ton of value here, his travel and moneymaking advice has directly helped me, and I'm sure dozens of others.

He's one of the rare and top breeds here. When I read his writing I get a sense of the man behind the keyboard, he has a great ability to convey his message with feeling, and provoke you to think.

I've never met him, but he's always struck me as a genuine, honest man that is more concerned about doing the right thing as he sees it than doing whats cool. Thats the type of man I appreciate.

We should all be grateful to have a man of his caliber around here.

When I make it to the Phils or Southern Thailand or where ever you end up, I hope to shake your hand and buy you a drink.

3 day ban for Teedub for trying to subvert admin decision of locking down a thread by creating a new one that continues forum drama.

Suspensions will be more severe from this point on for anyone who creates threads with the intention to continue discussion of recent beefs or who hijack existing threads to discuss it.
