Buy gold status on RVF.

Read extensively.

Ask questions after you have researched it. If you post a question and it shows links of what you looked at but still didn't help, then I am sure you will get some good feedback on here.

Self-improvement can be a lot cheaper than $1,000 man.

Those things have already been mentioned in the above posts. Inner game is the cheapest of them all.

If he really was that good of a coach, he'd not be selling his life by the hour to you as a "coach".

OP:
I'd get myself some language courses.

I never said hire a businessman, I said hire a coach, or someone who can teach you a skill you need to get to the next level. You really think people out there with specialized knowledge don't package it and sell it? Or coach other people who need that knowledge?

I personally know a very successful gym owner who has multiple locations, and he also has a mastermind/coaching group where he teaches other gym owners how to be successful.

I know people in this group who are successful gym owners, who are now even more successful due to the knowledge they've accumulated over the 8-12 week mastermind program.

There's lots of legitimate coaches out there who do coaching and mastermind groups.

Some of them even write books, maybe you've read one before?

You think that Mark Cuban doesn't have any "good skills" because he spent time writing a book instead of only working on his business? What about Donald Trump?

You obviously don't know what the fuck you're talking about, which isn't surprising.

Solid advices throughout the thread but this one stood out to me more as I'm looking to up my style and especially shoes. Can you link to what you'd consider a timeless classic pair of shoes?

Thanks man!

Work well with jeans, suits or otherwise. Shoe game man, shoe game - few others are doing it or doing it well. Buy classic, timeless designs not the trendy year to year crap. I have pairs of shoes that are older than some of you cubs on the forum that 20 year olds chiclets notice on a regular basis...

Natch, I'd do the exact same things I did when I got my very first income tax return. Skip my happy self over to Modell's, buy a free weight set on sale for $100. Use some of the remaining cash to renew a few museum memberships to maintain my ever reliable inexpensive date venue option.

Nowadays though? I'd probably drop it on tools, diagnostic equipment, or clothes. By the time the income taxes come around, I'm already working on a project so it ends up as more funds for maintenance.

Simple terms, you need to fuck them three times. 60 years ago it may have been one fuck and they are solid on your rotation but not in our current culture. I was running into a pattern of fucking girls 1-2 times going on 2-3 dates and them going cold. I spoke with a guy who has over 500 lays and at any given time has 6-12 girls on his rotation, he said he was running into a similar problem and spoke with other advance guys to come up with this "rule" and formula. He told me a good way to go about it is first date do drinks or coffee and bang her(get to know her better). Second date do something fun like Dave and Busters or comedy show and third date do something romantic like dinner at a restaurant, bang her after both dates and she gets to see multiple aspects of your personality and she is pretty solid on your rotation after that. Also try to set up the next date especially the first three in person at the end of the date, so at end of date one set date 2 up so she is thinking about it. He gave me a text flow chart I follow, but basically don't try to get to get too cute over text, use it as way to remind about meet ups, especially till you bang her three times because she will be more invested. Different girls its different, like a girl who it took 4 dates to bang would be more invested after the initial bang then a chick you pulled from a nightclub but the three bang "rule" is a good one to follow, don't take a chick forgranted till you bang her three times.

Makes sense. I usually sink into complacency after the first bang and just ring in booty calls. Might need to keep the gas on a little longer.

I got the $1,000 tax return in my account now. I'm thinking of spending that money on better fitting clothes, a few work dress shirts, more gym supplements, and possibly a trip to Vegas. Not sure of the last one. If I can't anything better to spend the money, I'll use that money for my travels.

I'd buy a couple nice outfits and then look for some kind of exclusive mastermind group/networking type thing to join. Meeting the right people can be infinitely more valuable, both financially and emotionally, than any material item.

Better fitting clothes = good

Work dress shirts = you sound like you have more free time than money. You can probably find some nice work dress shirts at the discount stores if you're a reasonably popular size and you shop around. I make enough money to not "have" to shop at the discount stores and yet I still do. I enjoy finding a good bargain and I can buy a lot of clothes and never feel bad about donating clothing because I didn't pay much for it in the first place.

Gym supplements = good, but often you don't need as many of the highly advertised expensive supplements. Again, research in this area will save you money now and in the future.

A trip to Vegas = If you are really stressed out and need a break and you'll be doing the trip with good friends where the experience will be shared and you'll have each other's backs and expand your brotherhood, cool. If you're planning on going to gamble and drink by yourself and get your own hotel room (waste of money if you're young and can handle a couch, sharing a bed, or crashing on a floor/inflatable mattress) don't do it.

Toastmasters, an entrepreneurs group, or something along those lines would be a great thing to join. The best part is that it may not cost you anything.

Are there men you look up to? Successful ones? Maybe men you've NEVER even met, but admire. You should approach them and tell them that you admire them and you know that getting ahead in life is something that you really want to do, and ask them if they'd be willing to let you buy them lunch in exchange for sharing some advice. Give value to get value (some of them may even insist on paying for the lunch and helping you out for free if you show that you're willing to put their advice to use and to really listen).

Good luck.

Buy the book Gentleman: a Timeless Fashion and see how much timeless clothing you can acquire for the amount you mentioned.

Go on a trip with limited resources and use your native intelligence to maximize opportunities, e.g., 800 dollars on a flight to Australia, and figure out how to maximize 200 bucks by couch surfing, home cooking, working in exchange, etc.

Buy a mutual fund.

Be a patron of the arts. Go to an opera, visit art museums, go to galleries.

Buy a musical instrument and learn it.

RE: How would you use $1000 to improve yourself?
Upgrade my wardrobe
- Buy a nice pair of jeans and two nice pairs of chino's (navy and tan/beige), slim fitting, get the bottoms taken up by a tailor to ensure best fit
- Buy a couple of nice shirts, off the shelf if fitted well enough, tailor made otherwise. One white, one navy or black
- Buys some well fitted t-shirts in a few different plain colours (white, black, grey, navy)
- Buy a nice pair of boots and a nice plain pair of sneakers
- Buy a nice leather belt
- Buy a nice pair of sunglasses - shop around to find some that look good on you

Buy a gym membership if you don't already work out
- supplements
- a pack of good quality meat from a local butcher or musclefood.com

Join meetup.com (free)
- meditate
- toastmasters
- anything else that interests/benefits you, bonus if it also has scope for meeting women

Buy a Kindle Paperwhite
Buy Bang and DayBang by Roosh

Get a decent haircut

Essential toiletries
- whatever hair product works for you (wax, clay, putty) I use matte products
- african black soap
- a good facial scrub
- an oil free moisturiser

Good suggestion already on this thread - a lightbox
Get up at the same time every day and start a morning routine - google it for suggestions on what to include. Mine includes 30 mins with the light box during which I read or browse the forum and drink a litre of water, 20 mins meditation and 10 mins stretching. Then I grab a shower and some breakfast and listen to a few feel good songs to put me in a good frame of mind for the day.

I don't think self improvement really requires you to spend $1,000. I guess you could brush on on your wardrobe a bit but I think the biggest things is self discipline, having a positive attitude, learning some new skills, stepping outside of your comfort zone. If your looking to spend a few bucks I'd suggest taking a class to learn a new skill whether it be BJJ or some other physical activity or sports league, web design, photogrphy, etc.
