I cried when I watched that bus scene. The music and the visuals completely tipped me over the edge. There were a few more moments where I sobbed, but I don't recall the context. Perhaps when Wilson had to turn off the life support, you know who I'm talking about.

House M.D. came to me at exactly the right time; a time where I was questioning society and had no-one else to question it with. Gregory was effectively my mentor, in this respect.

One of my favourite lines is:

(nurse having a romance with Foreman): "We're having a getaway"
(House) "Getaway?"
"Yeah, just me and Foreman at x place"
"Getaway."
"*confused face*"
"GET. AWAY."

The most pivotal moments in the show for me were when he was suffering in order to do his job even though people thought he never gave a crap. Exposing himself to danger, unorthodox diagnosis methods, trying to get off vicodin and dealing with the pain on his own- seeing the struggles of an apparent genius is something most men can relate to.

I was glad when it ended though, it was going downhill. Writers were either running out of steam of simply didn't care as much as they used to.

I disagree. I felt Cuddy's character is one of the best written female characters on television. Sure, she the alpha female in charge of a hospital and is a pain in the ass. But some of the episodes delve deep into the female mind and drop major red pill truths. Her character knew how to back off when proven wrong. She gave a rock solid performance in S05E06 when her surrogate decided to keep the baby and she wasn't a cunt about it.
