For a long time I've been thinking that gay men will split from the LGBWTF identity politics bullshit now that same-sex marriage is legal and no longer a Democrat wedge issue. Gay men are likely more red pill than straight men and will tire of the political correctness bullshit. They don't worry about unplanned pregnancy, abortion, birth control medication, and according to feminist talking points they already make 20% more than women by having a penis. How do gay men benefit by associating with feminists?

Furthermore, marriage is a fundamentally conservative and private institution that "empowered" Bernie voters have no respect for. This sets up a division between gay men who wanted marriage rights and the screaming feminists and transgender activists who can't commit to a dinner reservation, let alone a marriage contract.

David Cameron (UK prime minister) summed it up a few years ago:

We'll see fewer (but not zero) left-wing gay male activists, and more alt-right or libertarian gay men bankrolling specific causes, not gay causes. The schism will be complete when the screaming feminists scream about "gay male privilege" and gay men lose their SJW immunity.

I could be entirely wrong here. But I refuse to believe "LGBTTQQFAGPBDSM" is a cohesive movement.

On MSNBC tonight they were whining about Thiel's financial backing of this lawsuit. They said they felt something was perhaps immoral about billionaires bankrolling lawsuits like this.

Translation: We in the press don't think we should be held up to old standards of journalistic integrity, we think as journalists, we should get away with whatever we want regardless of the harm done.

Sometimes it does shield you, sometimes it doesn't. Hogan will likely never receive the full settlement. Denton will likely have to sell off many of his assets (cars, boats, houses, investments, etc) to pay whatever debts he can. The order in which creditors are paid is up to the judge or the trustee I think. After you reach a point when you can no longer pay, I think that's when the judge dismisses the rest. I'm not 100% certain however and any attorney who specializes in bankruptcy would know better. But if hulk sees 10% of the settlement, I'd be surprised. They all knew it going in.

Hulk should make Denton an offer:

1 pay per view wrestling match and the suit is dropped. Hogan collaborates with WWE, keeps all the earnings. Denton takes a leg drop and probably some legitimate injuries.

A jury sided with him in March and ordered that Gawker, its CEO Nick Denton and former editor A.J. Daulerio — who wrote the tape's play-by-play — pay Bollea $115 million in compensatory damages and another $25.1 million in punitive damages.

Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Pamela Campbell ruled on Thursday that Bollea is entitled to Daulerio's indemnity rights from Gawker, which could cover the entire judgment against him.

Bollea's attorneys said they appreciate Daulerio's hardship, including more than $26,000 in student loans, but want a deeper dive into his finances.

Daulerio will be deposed on his financial condition by the end of next week. In filings, he noted his drained checking account and his difficulty getting an attorney to advise him.

The judge scheduled an Oct. 31 hearing on Bollea's renewed motion for sanctions against Daulerio, whom lawyers accused of withholding the extent of his indemnification rights and thus misrepresenting his assets.

According to court records, Daulerio does not own a home, car or any other assets. His Gawker stock is worth $3,107.

Gawker filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection three months after Bollea won. Denton followed suit earlier this month.

The TV network and digital publisher has agreed to pay $135 million for the bankrupt blog network, according to a person familiar with the deal.

Ziff Davis and Univision were the only two bidders for Gawker, which filed for bankruptcy after Hulk Hogan and Peter Thiel won a $140 million judgment in a privacy case. Ziff Davis had originally offered $90 million for Gawker Media.

Here's a statement from Gawker Media owner Nick Denton: "Gawker Media Group has agreed this evening to sell our business and popular brands to Univision, one of America’s largest media companies that is rapidly assembling the leading digital media group for millennial and multicultural audiences. I am pleased that our employees are protected and will continue their work under new ownership — disentangled from the legal campaign against the company. We could not have picked an acquirer more devoted to vibrant journalism."

Mark Patricof, the Houlihan Lokey banker who represented Gawker Media, confirmed the sale price.

"The outcome exceeded our expectations. Both parties put in an awful lot of work, and Ziff Davis deserves credit for their effort," Patricof said. "But ultimately Univision prevailed, and both sides are happy with the outcome."

The deal won’t be official for a bit. For starters, a U.S. bankruptcy court judge needs to sign off on the transaction. When it is final, the judgment funds will be set aside while Gawker appeals its court case; eventually the money will go to the side that wins.

Whatever the result of the case, the auction is a disappointing conclusion for Denton, who founded the company in 2002.

Last year, as rival media companies like Vice, BuzzFeed and Vox Media (which owns this site) were raising money at increasingly high valuations, Denton was arguing that his company was worth $250 million or more.

Univision, which until recently was best known as a Spanish-language TV network, has been expanding its digital reach in recent years by acquiring satire site The Onion and The Root, a publication aimed at African-Americans.

And earlier this year it picked up full ownership of Fusion, the network and digital publisher aimed at millennials, which it originally launched in conjunction with Disney.
