How quickly do you guys close? And do you go straight for digits with the request and then just let it sit? My experience is that only the ones that chat with you a bit are even amenable in any way to meeting up. Short and delayed almost never works, though I had one that was probably an AW, still she gave up the digits after a delay of about a week and re-message. Who knows

The OP's opener has been a boon to my online returns. Out of 33 that sent it to, I've had 10 visit my profile and 8 respond.

When SFG told me the message, I wanted to PM back whether adding a personalised sentence or question would throw things out of whack. The beauty of his opener is that it has the power to canvass a woman's emotional buttons even if it is generic enough to have a copy-pasta feel.

Another point - I've had at least 3 of my recipients call me out for "negging", one in a pretty barbed manner. What would you do to deflect it? I think girls, especially in online dating, are clued up enough on PUA culture for them to spot its routines.
No doubt they've had to run the gauntlet of lamely-executed ones thrown at them by desperate chumps.
It doesn't need a whole lot of intelligence to surmise that eventually, they'd figure out that this would a spin on things.

Don't worry about that. If the girl likes you, she won't care about the nature of your opener or whatnot.

If she calls you out, she's probably a high-maintenance bitch. It's up to you if you want to proceed or not. I personally always eject if the girl's messages hint at non-playful aggressiveness.

Another thing I've learned by using the opener: Don't feel discouraged if the girl has nothing written on her profile. You can always use something from her answers to OkC questions, provided she has at least some. "You wrote you like horror movies, I heard girls who like horror movies are trouble" or something like that.

A fun experiment is to create a fake profile as a hot girl and see what kind of messages come in. You'll quickly see how lame most guys messages are. Very few stand out from the crowd. Writing a message that commands attention is what gets you in the door.

I've been called out for negging before, but it's rare. If a girl does this she's likely no stranger to PUA tactics, and there's a good chance she views this as sleazy. I deflect by playing dumb. i.e. "Not sure what you mean by "negging.." I was referring to the pic of your cat. You seem young for starting a cat collection already." You can try putting a playful spin on it, but more often than not you're DOA when a girl responds in a negative way. In all likelihood, she's damaged goods anyway. Focus on the ones who are fun. They're the girls you want to be pursuing.

I would love to help you, but as I said in the article, that is as far as I can lead you. You know how to open the girl, you must now "learn" how to engage. If I told you step-by-step on what to do, you would just be using a script and when it came to real-life you would be blank, because... You used a script and knew nothing and are now in the blue. So like I said, you will have a lot of mess-ups and of course it will feel un-natural/uneasy like you said, because you are doing something that isn't your character. Thanks OP for the opener. Although, I changed it a bit to cater to the Dutch girls around my area because I think they wouldn't understand what I mean if I used it exactly the way you do. I added some Dutch flavour to this routine and I make it sound a bit childish. It's working good and making them laugh. However, most girls reply here to my simple 'Hi' but with this opener, it is easier to carry on the conversations. Thanks again.

You could still tell that it intrigued her. I went with the heartbreaker usage to be playful once it got going, but still trying to think what else might be better (that one is pretty good because it simultaneously allows you to compliment but distance yourself).

Depends on how far away she is, and for me, how hot she is determines whether or not it's worth the drive. I run into this a lot since I live in the sticks..

I just got back from a trip and haven't been on here for a while.

I've tried screening PMs to only share with active members who contribute to the forum, some may have fallen through the cracks since I've been blown up with messages.

What are they saying when they call you out on it? Depending on what they say, it could be a shit test or it could be that the message leaked and they already received it from someone else.

There is no magic opener, say whatever you want. If girls leave bait in their description, obviously go for it. But the opener isn't getting anyone laid.

I've been using a "what's up" opener on tinder almost exclusively. Anyone fretting about openers is full of shit.

I usually go a little more high-effort than that, but I don't use canned openers or worry about it too much. Two sentences is plenty, and with experience I can jump into a girl's profile, skim it, and "bang out" something slightly clever in about 90 seconds. It helps to have read a lot and have a lot of experiences to draw from for novel material.

My profile is mostly whack-out nonsense (but well-written.) I'm a mad scientist from the future, come back to find a beautiful co-pilot for my time-zeppelin. There's a pic of me with some WW2 aircraft to go along. That sort of thing.

I think one of the high-repped users whose user name I'm blanking on said in an online game datasheet that the goal of a good profile shouldn't be to DHV or necessarily talk about your job or real hobbies. It should be to generate an emotion, a feeling. To tell a story.

I started hitting it up again more seriously over the weekend, grabbed two #'s and if all goes well I've got two meets on the books. This strategy has worked pretty well for me overall. YMMV.
