There is a great deal of trouble with the Travis County Republican Party. The books did not balance prior to Robert becoming chairman and the issues are still going on. Personally, I am very annoyed with them and the way they have NOT been representing rank and file Republicans.

Many of the folks in charge have been blaming the order of names on the ballot for his victory. Yeah, yeah, they want Preparation-H for their butthurt. James Dickey didn't bother to do any campaigning while Robert Morrow did, not a lot, but some name recognition is better than none. The turnout for the Republican Primary in Travis County, as well as the rest of Texas was record breaking with a huge number of first time primary voters. The ordinary Republicans are sick and tired of how badly the leadership has been representing them.

I know a number of folks on the Executive Committee of the Travis County Republican Party. I'm not the only person who is trying to change how they operate, which is badly. I'm doing what I can to channel my inner asshole and push them to do what I want, actually be Conservative.

I actually served as a precinct chair for a while. I don't know that much about the budgets and such. I do know that Austin had the largest Ron Paul meetup in the country--nothing made me more proud of living here.

Lots of those people were and are liberals IN THE TRUE SENSE of that word. They believe in live and let live, free speech, and free markets. They got involved largely because of Doctor Paul.

Good for Rob if they balance the books because of him.
