The gentler sex spends their whole life under no pressure to take responsibility for their own actions. You can't imagine that they are going to take your word for it when you tell them that there are scenarios where their actions will have consequences that will directly affect them.

This is easier in a world where it is considered normal for fathers (and mothers) to use corporal punishment if necessary.

I'm not a big supporter of routine physical punish of children and teenagers, but I'll concede that it makes a world of difference when a child (especially a female child) grows up in an environment where there is a line that cannot be crossed and that doing so will result in consequences that very real and impossible to ignore.

If I have children, I'll try to resist corporal punishment for situations where there is an absolute refusal to obey, but if my child refuses to do what they are told to ("no, I won't go to my room!"), I prefer a quick punishment to having to physically restrain them in their room until they finally give in.

Imagine how much differently things would have turned out differently with this shoplifter if she was in the habit of appreciating the fact that when an authority figure give you a command, there's no way of talking your way out of it.

I'm not endorsing punitive punishments here ("you failed your test, now you're getting a spanking"), but rather suggesting that everyone should be aware that there are situations that unless you are ready to fight, you absolutely have to listen to orders.

Most men are perfectly aware of this, but females spend so much of their life getting handed the pussy-pass that they are completely unprepared for situations where the buck stops with a close encounter with a law enforcement officer.

I'm not completely understanding something here, maybe in part because at the beginning of the video, there is apparently no sound. The loss prevention officer was outside the store and appears to look through the girl's bag. Did he or another store employee see her on video take the shoes with her and not pay for them? Did the receipt only show that she only paid for some of the items? The reason why I am asking these things is that it doesn't appear that the probable cause for the arrest was clearly communicated to the officer, i.e. "We observed this girl on video leave the store without paying for some items/s. She passed all points of sale. It was confirmed with the cashier that she didn't pay for x items." It seems like the officer just jumped the gun and placed her under arrest. Where I am, you can resist an invalid arrest, meaning an arrest without probable cause. I'm not saying that there was no probable cause here. I'm just saying that the communication between the L.P.O. regarding the probable cause and the arresting officer seems to be seriously lacking.

She will probably get off on the underlying shoplifting charge. Here's why. When you purchase some items, then leave without paying for some items, it's extremely difficult to prove what items were paid for and what items were not. You would need the testimony of the cashier and the cashier would have to have independent recollection of that was paid for and what was not. Receipts are hearsay. I've never seen them get a cashier to court. She will go down for resisting though, if the officer can show that he had probable cause to arrest her, making the arrest valid.

I've known people who were busted for having some goods unpaid. It's a common tactic. That's why they have people checking receipts at the door.

Although the sound was off, the cop did appear to coordinate with the store detective, who pointed out things that were not paid for. If they have stuff that's not paid for, I don't support having them get off on techicalities.

When I see a situation like this I identify with the store, and imagine getting stolen from. I don't care if it's a big corporation. Funk theives. Lock them up for severe periods starting with the second conviction., and worse still for >2.
