Since I went there I have seen there beer in local stores here in Jacksonville, FL. Apparently they are not so micro anymore.

This is the brewery in Breckenridge, CO.

That's an awesome brewery, I went there on a trip recently. Though i've got a feeling the altitude sort of has a knock-on effect, and makes you feel drunker or more buzzed from drinking less...but still quality beer there nonetheless.

My favorite thing to drink in Breck was this stuff though...

One of the best breweries in the South is Cigar City Brewing
https://cigarcitybrewing.com/beers
I think it's the best up and coming brewery in the country, could be on a Sam Adams level someday.
I love their tocobaga red ale, white oak jai alai IPA, bolita brown ale, big sound scotch ale, they have some great sours, and they are famous for their annual hunahpu release parties!

I gotta hunt down a bottle of that now. Thanks for the tip. Appears to be in limited supply here so I will probably have to drive to a few places or make a few calls first.

Perhaps the best I have tried is Jever Pilsener. As the label suggests it does have a subtle taste of fresh herbs.

RE: Craft Beer and Micro-Brewery Thread
Not exactly a craft beer but one thing I love about Desperados is that basically every copy of that beer is actually better than the actual Desperados ,which is your average shit pseudo beer you get for cheap in non german countries (with caramel colorants and estabilizers because, you know beer needs that)

Particularly if you re in Germany now,its the time to try the Aldi s version, its called "Amigo" costs 59c(plus pfand) and though it still has some of the artificial flavbouring shit its base still is honest reinhetzgebot style beer(Brewed in Belgium though)

For more of "craft" ,has "Odin trunk" been already posted here?

We move between light and shadow, mutually influencing and being influenced through shades of gray...

Anybody got recommendations for "must try" beers from Italy?

I typically drink wine for pleasure here, and beer for refreshment after a walk in the hot noonday sun. But I'd imagine there are a few gems around.

I'm open to any style except IPA or sours.

Anyone have any recommendations for smoky beers?

I tried Schlenkerla (the Marzen, the Urbock, and the Weizen) and thought it was sort of bland. Anything smokier?

I want to drink the Laphroaig of beer.

I go to France for work in mid august. My flight options are through Chicago or NYC. HNL to NYC pushes the longness a little too much. I could stay 1-2 nights in one of those places.

Plus cardinals play cubs 8/13. And now with h3ltrsk3tr buying craft beers maybe I can.

Here's a craft brew so as not to derail this one thread:

RE: Craft Beer and Micro-Brewery Thread
^Nothing confirmed but a couple of forum guys I keep in touch with would be down during Spring Break for a Hawaii trip.

Either that or I'll hit Chicago up then for a weekend just as a strictly RVF meet up session. All depends on how my bank account feels then.

I'm a pretty poor guy, but I won't pull a Lumierre and sleep on anyone's couches which is why I'm stalling these trips. California in a 2 weeks is already going to do a number.

Here's a craft brew as well imported straight from Belgium:

∆ Spring break is march/april??

That's tail end of surf season so I could get you a spot for multiple people for real cheap on north shore. If you're on a budget Waikiki/Honolulu is pointless.

Here's a microbrewery that's so micro they put it in smaller bottles:

Stella is the worst Belgium made beer I've every tasted. It's basically just flavorless fizzy water with no evidence of fermentation.
