How long before they have gay-only dorms? Dorms for trannies? Dorms for 'confused' students? Latinos, Asians and even Inuit dorms?

What would happen if they'd said 'Dorms for White Students Only'?

If the black students can't cut the mustard like everyone else, then they should be shown the door the same as white, brown, yellow or pink-rainbow-unicorn students. No exceptions.

Asians are fucked.

They aren't white enough to benefit from some of this white privilege, and their grades are too good to benefit from minority "whites are oppressing us!" manufactured outrage.

No one cares about Asians.

This sounds like a bad idea for the school. They have to know this will backfire.

There's gonna be a leak in the roof or the trash pickup will get missed then there will be a public outcry. There will be a bunch of white kids complaint they won't fix stuff because those guys are black.

Or if you live there, whatever you do don't bring a white girl home. Dear god the campus cops will be all over it.

A big part of success in the work force, in life, is how you can get along with people from various circumstances and cultures. College is supposed to help prepare you for that, not shield you from it.

What's with the constant babying of the black community? Should be asking why they can't succeed in larger numbers in a campus environment and confront that, so they can better succeed in life after college. Or is the next step black only employment?

For all the talk of the black community I'm reminded of the Asian community. They face plenty of hardships, issues with adapting, etc, yet they just work hard. Don't accept excuses. Don't look to be babied.

There's already de facto soft academic segregation at top schools due to affirmative action. Affirmative action creates caste-like structures where the distributions of the cognitive abilities of Asians--and to a lesser extent, whites--at a given school can overlap little with that of blacks, and to a lesser extent, latinos.

For example, Arcidiacono and colleagues found in 2012 that the mean SAT scores of entering Duke students were 1457, 1416, 1347, 1275, with standard deviations of 94, 105, 103, 105, for Asians, whites, latinos, and blacks, respectively. Plugging these into a CDF function, a median (50th percentile) black Duke student, as measured by SATs, would be at about the level of a 10th percentile white Duke student, and a 3rd percentile Asian Duke student. A student from the bottom 5th (<= 20th percentile) of the Duke Asian distribution would be in the top 5th of the Duke black distribution (>= 80th percentile), with room to spare.

The researchers discovered that controlling for SAT scores, and SAT scores alone, explained the lower grades, easier course loads, and migration away from STEM of blacks vis a vis whites at Duke. Although this would perhaps be obvious from first principles, that different admissions standards for different groups will lead to different academic outcomes.

Schools like UConn are caught in the crossfire. The Dukes of the world gobble up the 1100+ SAT black students, while kicking hordes of 1400+ SAT Asians (and to a lesser extent, whites) This! Is! Sparta!-Style down the well to lesser schools, exacerbating the soft castes in cognitive ability there, as well--often resulting in more liberal head-scratching and thus more stupid policies and/or proposals, but rarely as flagrant and visible as the current UConn one.
