^He's just using a silk pocket square that he shoved into the pocket points down. Try searching pocket square pouf or something like that.

@Dalaran, try wearing stripes. So one casual shirt I wear is a light blue with white stripes thats made of linen from polo ralph lauren. I didn't know white pants make you shorter. I would say I am pretty average height. Sticky feet, you could try using foot powder and those no show socks. With boat shoes I don't really feel it, I wear them so much that I got use to it I guess. Boat shoes feel like flip flops to me lol. If youre wearing pants then you can just wear light socks

@harveryspecter, have you visited the office before? Just wear what the other people are wearing. A good way to stand out would be well kept in terms of grooming. Trim beard, clean haircut, etc.

@Captain: white has the opposite effect of black, since instead of absorbing colors it reflects them, so it visually enlarge the surface, making your body look chunkier and shorter. The effect is of course visual and minimal, but as a shorter guy I dont need another potential complication.

Plus, I still have to take the metro to get around, so white pants in crowded subways filled with the dregs of refugees is a big no no. Pity I do have a pair of white jeans I used to love.

Will try out some boat shoes this spring, there's some awesome pairs in the nearby shops.

@Harvey specters: if you want to dress better, simply wear clothes with better fit. 90% of guys (especially in tech) lumber around with pants that look like they can fit both legs in one pant legs, and overblown shirts.

Slap on some fitted shirt and slim chino, a pair of nice shoes and a nice watch. A blazer is the simpliest and most versatile way to dress up an outfit. Pick a grey / charcoal if you dont want to fee overdressed.

For more formal occasions, slap on a tie with a nice clip.

Spring 2017

I have to buy a new wardrobe.

For the past 2 years, I have mostly purchased slim fitted clothing.

But, NOW, SLIM FITTED CLOTHES LOOK FEMININE!!!

I can't even wear 75% of the clothes I bought because it just looks gay and try-hard.

My style has evolved to a more rough & rugged look.

I won't wear big and baggy clothes but the "slim" stuff is mostly out except for on certain occasions.

I have been observing the fashion sense of the guys around me and I just feel that slim clothes DO NOT LOOK MASCULINE!

I'm not exactly sure what my style will be this spring/summer but I'm thinking lots of ripped denim with boots and a general trend towards a more masculine look.

Everyone wears that slim shit now and I just hate to look like everyone else.

(*I know guys in The South/NorthWest/MidWest and more rural parts of the USA ALREADY KNOW THIS! HERE IN SAN FRANCISCO I GUESS I JUST GOT CAUGHT UP IN THE THE WHOLE SLIM FITTED MOVEMENT! ITS OVER! IT LOOKS FEMININE!)

(I'm 41 and I think age has something to do with it but even on young guys I think slightly bigger clothes look more manly)

Unless you are very skinny I don't think skinny works. I think it was really a trend, not something timeless. Also I think a lot of guys get slim and fitted confused. Theres a difference.

Definitely quality. Think in terms of how those items fit together with everything else in your wardrobe.

Don't know if you refer to the style below, but many dudes in y city wear these style, and most of them pretty jacked. Gay as fuck, specially when complemented with the long style hoodies that they so much like, and the shaven head.

But if you are referring to the slim fit style as in the last picture, I don't see nothing feminine on it.

Always, always, always, quality. Have the best wardrobe items you can afford. You don't need designer items if that's not your thing, but you need good quality items that hold up well over time. You never want to look cheap or sloppy, even when casual.
Ripped jeans are perfectly fine, but shirts with frayed collars, missing buttons, that's another thing. Sweaters that have gone "pilly", stretched out, frayed cuffs... all these give you a low value look. But, vintage clothing is an excellent idea, again if its quality and well-made.

Just picked these up today, to update my glasses. I mostly wear contacts now and needed a new pair. I like these but wanted to get feedback. They are Garrett Leights. I mostly like all of their stuff, but their newer stuff is a little too "beachy" and lightweight hipster for my tastes, like something Russell Westbrook would wear. Any thoughts on these? I would wear them in an office environment.

True that, my last two pairs got a cut in the exact same place, just underneath my big black balls never again. I will buy another pair of Diesel, they are indestructible, I bought a pair 7 years ago it still looks good as new.

Ive very interested in getting a pair of Garrett Leights glasses for the lightness. The shapes are fine and modern but the quality and lightness is what Im looking for. I bought some Warby Parker glasses and they were garbage. Ive had some other no name brands that were better. Im looking for that style but high quality, though I don't want to spend $500 on frames so I think it will be Garrett Leights when Im back in the states this summer.

They are great, owned by Oliver Peoples and very trendy. Good construction. These retailed at $425, got them half off with my insurance.

I have been lucky with Warby Park, I have three pair, two pair are good and classic styles, but the third was way too trendy and out of style now. Very durable.

*Edit. Pocket squares I would recommend this girl. She has hooked me and some other RVF guys in the past, and I get more compliments on the silk squares than I do on my best suits. Women LOVE them as they are a bit 'feminine' but in a Japanese way. Best suiting investment I have ever made.
