I myself used to think like Delavan, cheap was fine so long as it looked ok. After I actually invested in something quality I realized that not only did it feel better but they lasted significantly longer. Don't get me wrong, I still do most my shopping during the end of season sales and when things are on clearance. You can find things that look amazing and will catch people's eyes even if they aren't the latest.

Several members gave you some pointers already (such as poor quality). I will give you another, maybe the most important one - toxicity. By that, I do not mean that you be perceived as a toxic individual, or attract toxic people!


Most of those clothing is made from poor quality fabric, which, in many cases, contains very dangerous elements, such as lead (and sometimes much worse things, such as mercury...). Those elements can cause harm to your skin (or, in case of lead, sterile). I am telling you from personal experience - I developed severe rash because of a pair of fake Nike shirts as a kid.


If you really want something like that (and I don't blame you, it is on my hit list as well), rather buy something that is genuine Italian (that design looks like Armani), from sites such as Ebay. Yes, you will pay at least several hundred $$$, but that bad boy will last you forever, and will not give you a ''death from a thousand cuts''. It will not be too hard to find something for your size, because Italians are short people in general.

@Irenicus: Hey man I really appreciate the input. I have several high quality blazers and trust me being in Paris I do put quality first. They last longer fit better and more hygenic.

However, as I pointed out to Comte, you also have to treat them differently. I can never wear my woolen The Kooples blazer with leather details out for a night where I'll be fucking shit up. I learned that the hard way when I put on my favorite cotton Bordeaux blazer to a club. The next morning when I brush it to get all the smoke out, I discovered several beer stain on it and the arm pit really reek with sweat. I took them to the cleaners and it cost like 15 euros, so after 10-15 wears the maintenance cost = the blazer cost.

Unless you are getting your jacket custom fitted (which is what Im doing when i next visit Milan), you will always have to do something about the sleeve length.

The blazer I posted here, its from ASOS, and its actually made in Turkey. 70% cotton, good enough. And the best thing about it, since I could care less I simply roll the sleeve up. For this jacket it makes for an ok look actually, up the pimping a few degrees. I can throw it around, put it over a chair instead of worrying about a proper coat hanger.

Didnt got any rash/hygene problem with it despite wearing it with a vneck. Never bought anything from ebay or amazon for the exact reasons you describe, cheap ass material.

As for the pimping effect, I think this cute Russian here was impressed

Armani isn't worth it. Go to Milan, the small tailor streets, they have their own version of Savill Row there. Get your own custom made blazer, these guys know their business.

About dark wash jeans, I actually feel like everybody's wearing blue, light blue to make it worse. Dark wash and well cut 511 Levis are very versatile, can be dressed up or down easily.

I dont like light color because I'm not a tall mofo like you boys. Also I dont skip legs days, so on the occasion I do decide to sport white or color chinos it gives the impression my legs are too bulky for my body.

Else what would you recommend I swap dark wash jeans for? @captain chardonnay, you seem to know a bit of this too.

I find that the best combination for shorter but athletic guys, are dark jeans that slim and lengthen the figures. And I always wear bold color for upper body to draw the attention upward. I almost always leave the neck open with a v-neck or unbutton 3 top to show the necklace and focus on my sexy face

In Europe what is currently trendy is adding leather highlights on clothes. So say a black calf leather collar on a dress shirt. Its a bitch when you have to clean it but its very subtle and elegant details.

I do have pretty tight suit game but the European dandy culture is not all about projecting power as in US. Its all about out-styling each other, so blazer game here is off the chart. You can feel free to add pins, boutoniere, pocket square and go to town.

Frankly outside of finance circle, I would be hard pressed to find a place in Europe where a suit is better than this (for ex)



My favorite are dark wine color blazer. It conveys both elegance and that subtle feeling of luxury and passion, just like wine. You need to spend €€€€ on this however

^ Dark wash (i.e. not artificially faded denim) will lighten with time, customized to your body. What I hate are the fake "stonewashed" types in the mall that poseurs buy.

So just keep wearing them; as long as they are good quality denim. Preferably "raw"; don't wash for six months.

If you mean go to a Florist, certainly, but that is expensive and inconvenient for daily use or anything other than rare occasions.

What kind of boots are you guys rocking with blue jeans?

Here's the thing, a lot of guys recommend Allen Edmonds, Red Wings, Frye etc. but I've had pairs of all these brands and while they look fantastic.......they're simply not comfortable. Leather is so stiff and they never break in (at least in my experience). Anyone have any familiarity with a good quality and comfortable boots?

H&M makes some pretty fashionable wingtips boots with plastic soles, and those are much more comfortable to wear than my more expensive pairs. I go dancing in them and it would keep me spinning throughout the night.

Still haven't come across a leather-sole pair that is more comfortable than plastic. Maybe I haven't spent enough €€€ then

Problem is none of the H&M stores I've visited carry my size (13). Guess I could order online though. Not a traditionalist at all, just looking for comfort & quality.

I wear white cotton or linen pants or shorts, boat shoes or loafers, linen dress shirt and half lined linen blazer. I try to stick with lighter colours like mint, light blue, etc but I also have versatile stuff like navy.

I literally have girls staring at me during the summer. There was a chick with her husband who literally gazed across the street and stared.

I use to dress edgy but I feel that what I listed above feels more comfortable. Boots, jeans and a leather biker jacket are hot af during the summer where I am... That would be more for fall or autumn.
