Anyone have any experience with this shoe company: https://www.undandy.com/

They seem like the Suit Supply of shoes.

I'm not expecting top quality English or Italian shoes, but seems like you can get just below top quality for very solid prices.

I found this thread on Ask Andy as well: https://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/foru...andy-shoes

Yes. Completely yes.

I'm a tall good looking dude. I make everything I wear look good so long as it isn't sloppy. And that jacket adds the extra amount of puff to it.

I'm sorry the rest of you guys are ugly and can't pull it off tard. Completely masculine if you've got the right vibe.

I'd up the ante as this is more my style. Only problem is finding stuff like this that is truly quality material. I'd pay a tailor out the ass for something seriously fly.

[Image: Formal-Business-Fall-Spring-Mens-Plus-Si...font-b.jpg]

Betting that Comte is the gay model for that jacket Laugh

I think I have the shitlord attitude to pull it off. Still hesitating on one front: Im on the shorter side of the spectrum.

So on one hand, dressing in all black with that jacket as the the sole attention captor is good because it lengthen the body and draws the attention upward, and I have a puff torso to sport it. Would go well with my bear claw necklace too.

The downside is that it might just makes me look ridiculous, like overcompensating. But if you are wearing shit like this, fuck what others people think.

@Comte: dont get expensive material for this jacket.

A nightout peacocking jacket like this if for those loud night out adventures, where lots of music, alcohol and unpredictable shit happens. Guarantee you would get beer spoils, smoke stains, sweat and other shitty stuff that go on in the club on your jacket.

I reserve expensive materials for classier venues or occasions. For night out somet cheap 50$ in polyester will do.

Sounds good.

And to your earlier comment you should wear atleast one thing that completely contrasts say an all black look. A silver watch, your necklace, a loud pocket square, etc.

You want to draw looks to certain parts of your body and get girls imagining things. I have a very prominent collar bone that makes me appear slightly more lean than I am and my necklace accentuates that. A silver watch on my arm is right next to my fingers that she'll be imagining finger banging her behind the stairwell. Pocket square is near my chest where her head will be if I'm princess carrying her to the bedroom.

Of course verbal game should anticipate those kinds of thoughts developing (all based on the situation you're in). Anecdotes, wordplay, a bit of dirty humor, and the way my body language is should all add on to what I'm showing.

Women have the tendency to overthink things. Take advantage of it.

A word of advice to newbies. An interested girl will make the effort to reciprocate. You can't fix running bad game if you've already been failing with her.

If I die God please let me die in Ibiza(Iviza).

I'm far from a millionaire but I do intend to wear that blazer out for peacocking and trolling the crowd. The attitude is all that matter. When you wear this kind of clothes most would think you are a clown or retarded, but some girls will find it intriguing.

Will let ya all know how it goes

In Paris and Europe in general you can get away with wearing that blazer.

This side of the the world or in my city, I wouldn't wear it.

Pink shirts are great for men to wear, trust me girls love that on a guy. Shows you are confident and don't give a crap.

Pink Converse I would not wear, at all. I do love Converse shoes however, they are just right.

Great look for 35+ year old guys.

Just two complimentary tone-on-tone combinations, matching leathers on shoe and watch strap, and a great watch.

This combo is very basic, but there's four little details on the outfit that give it a completely different flavor - and show that this guy knows what he's doing:
- The subtle print of the shirt: gives the outfit some depth, looks refined
- The cap toe shoe: more interesting than a plain blucher. Could also have been traded for a wingtip or even double monk
- The pattern on the watch strap, which looks like the one depicted below
- The white face watch: because the outfit is muted and dark, the white really pops out the makes everything come together.

I prefer a jacket, let me show a nice matching belt, also the sweater make him looks like he's coming from the office, nice description on everything else Ringo.

As the white boys on the internet say, "What are those!?"

Those shoes really pop. Where can I get them?

I got this jacket in black for my trip to Ukraine, cost me over 1100 AUD. It's a bit plain but it's quality...insulates me well. I just need to buy some sweaters, shoes, jeans in Ukraine.

RE: Fashion and Style Lounge
^Those shoes pop because they have a good polish on them. I spent a few hours looking how to take care of leather shoes and the best I found was using shoe care products made by Saphir.

Over the years I have done a lot of different things in order to protect and shine my shoes. Some of those things was rather complex in order to keep my leather shoes supple and maintain a brilliant shine. Using much of Lear's (not the ugly one) advice I used to maintain a mirror shine on the top caps and heel quarters, however as my collection has expanded my time for the obsessive art has greatly diminished. I have begun using a ritual that I feel is pretty foolproof, yet yeilds an excellent result.

I start, by just buffing the shoe to get the dust off with an old cotton tee shirt and I Saphir Renovateur, the whole damn thing. I let it sit a few minutes and then I lightly buff with the cotton shirt again. I then use Saphir wax on the toe in repeated small swirls and work back towards the vamp. Doing this puts most of the wax on the toe and only the remnants end up on the vamp. This is crucial so you don't get build up in the creases. I am also aware of some people saying that wax polish dries out leather, but with Saphir I have found that it doesn't ever really dry out like kiwi and some others do, it stays gunky and maliable. I then add some wax to the heel counters and work towards the center of the shoe once again. After the whole shoe has this thin layer of wax let it dry and buff fast, yet lightly with a horsehair brush. Many people stop here, however I feel in order to bring out a really nice glow and remove excess wax it is a good idea to let the shoe dry with its shine for a bit, say 10 minutes, then apply another light coat of Saphir Renovateur, let sit and buff with the same horsehair brush in the same manner. For some reason this last application of renovateur seems to bring out a better glow then if you hadn't used it. I think the renovateur really smoothes out the finish and helps the wax penetrate into the pores more. Anyway, I feel that this ritual is a great alternative to the labor intensive and highly sought after mirror shine.

This finish I feel lasts a long time as well. After each wearing I just give the shoes a good brush with the horsehair and they clean up very well. Every now and again a light coat on renovateur seems to bring out the shine and nourish the leather. It also helps to gradually pick up the old polish while conditioning as to not create any build-up. If I do this I will apply the renovateur right as I take off my shoes and put in the trees. Since the leather is still warm from my feet the reno penetrates better and picks up some of the loosened polish.

Just thought that I would share. Best of luck.

DAASL states that the body of the message he posted is not his own material, but rather sourced from cadetstuff.org, so I hope he does not take offence when I state that there are a number of things that are incorrect within the comments.

>“…must be Kiwi (its the best)”.

Hopefully people that have been following this thread are fully aware that this is not true, as there are much higher quality polishes available.

>“If you want to use Kiwi Parade Gloss, then be warned that it contains paraffin which will have a detrimental effect on the quality of shine you achieve.”

Actually Kiwi designed Parade Gloss to produce a better shine by including silicone in the mix to allow for a smoother wax finish. Unfortunately silicone has a drying effect on leather and could damage the shoe over time.

>“…take on a big load of polish”

Please don’t do this. All polish should be applied (even in the context of loading the applicator) in moderation.

>“Cotton Wool method - using a wad of cotton balls, water and polish. This method does work, but will not give a very good results for reasons I will not bore you with.”

This is simply not true. A cotton ball will work just as well as a finger wrapped in cotton.

Rather than go on about what is incorrect within that post, let me cover some basics about shoe polish and shoe polishing in general:

There are 3 basic types of shoe polish:
Liquid – Not recommended for long term shoe care (with some exceptions).
Cream – Base coat and brush shine.
Paste – Final coats and spit shine.

There are only 3 types of wax, all of which are used in shoe polish, either individually or in some combination:
Petroleum based wax – Paraffin
Plant based wax – Carnauba wax
Insect based wax – Beeswax

Shoe polish also contains oils for keeping the leather fiber of the shoe supple and slow down the leather oxidation process. The most common are:
Lanolin – Produced by sheep skin oil glands
Mink Oil – Extracted from fat cells of mink pelts
Neatsfoot Oil – Extracted from the shin or foot (not hoof) of cattle.

Other oils such as tallow (animal fat in general) and Collagen (a group of proteins) are also used to some degree, however plant oils like Olive oil, Peanut oil, etc… are not used.

The oils listed above (not plant oils) are also what makes up most leather conditioners, to one degree or another.

Shoe leather usually comes from the tannery with around 17% oil content. It is important to try to keep the oil content around this ratio if possible. This is done by using leather conditioner periodically and keeping the shoes polished.

Shoe polish also contains solvents. The solvents are used to soften the wax and make it easier to apply. Shortly after the wax is applied the solvents evaporate. When a tin of shoe paste dries up and cracks it is because the solvents have evaporated, not because the oil has dried up. The most common solvents are:
Naphtha – Petroleum distillate
Turpentine - Pine Tree resin distillate
Stoddard Solution – Mineral Spirits

Shoe polish can also contain Gum Arabic as a viscosity stabilizer, and of course dyes for coloring.

The quality of a shoe polish is determined by which of each of these elements are used and in what ratios. Unfortunately, makers of shoe polish rarely publish the composition of their polish.

As for the difference in shoe cream and shoe paste (both are shoe polish): Shoe cream has a higher oil content and a lower wax content, and shoe paste is just the opposite with a lower oil content and a higher wax content. Because of this a spit shine is not possible with shoe cream. But, shoe cream does a better job of conditioning the shoe leather than shoe paste that is why some people use both to polish a shoe.

If you are not trying to put a spit shine on a shoe then shoe cream is best to use, as it will condition the shoe better and still produce a good brush shine.

If you are trying to spit shine a shoe, shoe cream is not needed as long as the shoe is well conditioned, the wax ratio in the shoe paste will allow for a hard wax shell to be created.

When thinking about actually producing a shine on a shoe it helps to think microscopically. The surface of the wax is what creates the shine. If you were to apply wax to a shoe (with whatever method –shoe dauber, cotton cloth, etc…) and then look at it with a microscope it would be very rough and inconsistent.

Running the bristles of a shoe brush over the wax repeatedly would smooth out the wax a great deal, leaving just microscopic valleys where the bristles had been drawn back and forth. To the naked eye the wax would be smooth enough to reflect enough light to make the shoes look shiny. This would be a brush shine.

To produce a spit shine the wax has to be much smoother. This is done by rubbing the wax with a smooth object with extremely little drag (this is where just a little water comes in handy) that contours to the surface of the shoe (cotton ball, or cotton wrapped finger). Multiple coats may also be necessary to fill in any imperfections in the surface.

Note that very little polish should be used to produce each coat, and that you are not actually adding coats, but rather blending coats because the wax being applied each time still contains some solvent.

Once the wax is smooth enough you will begin to feel a slighty oily tactile feedback as you polish, this is due to the oil that is inherent in the wax itself becoming the molecular barrier (along with a few molecules of water) between two very smooth wax covered surfaces (the shoe and the applicator). This is when the best spit shine will occur.

I hope this was useful.

Shoe cream and polish are the same thing. From recent AAAC copy/paste:
- Cleaner: Cleans the shoe, getst hat gunk off. Sometimes combined into a cleaner/conditioner which works fine.
- Conditioner: Adds back moisture to the leather. Sometimes combined into a cleaner/conditioner which works fine.
- Cream/Polish: Adds back color to the shoe but does not give it a sheen or shine. If you scratch the leather on your shoe and it has a discolored line (against a table), you can polish and buff most of it off.
- Wax: Gives a "coat" of wax for protection and shine. If your shoes are looking a bit dull and you want them to shine a bit (or a lot through "bulling"), use wax.
- Edge dressing: This is purely aesthetics. The edge of your shoe, where the sole is, is leather but a black or brown dye is put on top of it, called a "dressing." Well, if you look at the tip of your shoe and see that the dye has been worn down (the way you walk, walked into something, etc...), you can now see the nude leather. Applying edge dressing (in whatever color) re-dyes it so it looks newer and gives it more of a clean look.

Well, its a rare day today when Im both happy and mad with the clothing world.

My pimp jacket arrives, and to my surpirse it is pretty neat. The shoulders fit perfectly, the cut is tight and accentuate the v shape, and the material, despite being polyester, feel soft and pleasing to the touch.

For 50 euro (60$) this is pretty damn good. Ready to rock the night and pimp up bitches

What makes me really mad however: I can barely button the jacket without it bulging. Yet the sleeves are too long, halfway past my thumb.

And Im athletic at 12% bodyfat.

The most important thing with a jacket is to have the shoulder and chest sized correctly. Sleeve length can be shortened if the buttons are just for show but usually unless there is extra material, the waist cannot be let out. What I think is wrong with your jacket is that the waist is too tight. Upload a pic and lets see how it looks or if you want you can PM me.

Portuguese shoes are of good quality, and reasonable price. There is a very famous industry in the north of the country in Porto and Braga regions. Many Italian and other foreign big name brands produce them there and just put the brand stamp. For shoe enthusiasts I recommend a trip to the city of Guimarães, the deals that can be made there will be much worth than the travel expenses.

RE: Fashion and Style Lounge
Really interesting video about the perils of dressing up:

This is something I have thought about for a while, especially in terms of advice I would give my younger self.

I remember moving back to Alberta after film school and telling my dad it was time to start wearing a suit and tie (I was getting into sales).

He was a dependably presentable guy, certainly not stylish. But he ran his own business, and I remember him wearing a suit and tie more often than not growing up.

He immediately told me it was a bad idea, and I would be sending the wrong signal to most other small business owners I met.

I took his advice without understanding it fully.

But as I get older I realize it was solid. Especially since I've started dating much younger women, and I don't run in very rich circles.

I can get away with dressing really stylishly (as far as I can afford) every now and again. But for what I do, for my personality, and for who I spend my time with... it's far more beneficial and congruent to dress just a bit better than the average dude.

Canada is the land of ill fitting khaki pants, worker jeans, or baggy shorts. It's not hard to stand out from that.

This is, of course, excepting downtown Calgary, and certain circles of Montreal and Toronto.

I love French women. I know I'll be back over there soon enough. Just need to brush up on the language.

A word of advice to newbies. An interested girl will make the effort to reciprocate. You can't fix running bad game if you've already been failing with her.

They seem like the Suit Supply of shoes.

I'm not expecting top quality English or Italian shoes, but seems like you can get just below top quality for very solid prices.

I found this thread on Ask Andy as well: https://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/foru...andy-shoes

I just saw this also. They are hand made in Portugal and seem to be of good quality. I have speced out a pair and will probably order them. If I get them I'll post.

Just so you know, some high quality shoes are actually made in Portugal and branded in Italy. Also some popular brands have their shoes made in Portugal. Fly london (Portuguese owned and manufactured, based in england), Gant and Tommy Hilfiger.
The price increases substantially.

"The Portuguese footwear is increasingly conquering new markets. Besides new geographies, it’s important to highlight the 44% growth on external sales over the past five years.
Also relevant is the fact that the Portuguese footwear exports increased to all its 20 main markets, except for the United Kingdom. Although the exports keep to present some concentration in the big European markets, the bigger growth rates were from nontraditional markets of the sector, which have set diversification opportunities: China (3108%), United Arab Emirates (608%), United States of America (461%), Australia (363%) and Poland (295%). During the same period, the average export price increased 24%, in accordance with the goal of stating the sophistication and quality of the national offer."

Some cool outfits from MenStyle1 (a great resource for inspiration):

Muted, dark colors. The combo of bulkier jacket, slim cut jeans and turtleneck look awesome together because the first one gives the upper body some weight and the two others give it length - and therefore contrast. Those boots look sweet. I love this combo.

Details.

I love this. Warm tone over tone with the brown and caramel, but the caramel of the shoes, jacket and watch band seem to be slightly different. It gives the outfit depth but it doesn't look like it was so meticulously matched. The colors really compliment his complexion.

Great look for a night out, although I'd switch shoes. I think a sockless blucher or chunky wingtip would look cool.

This ensemble looks good. I'm not a fan of the hat, but it's what gives the outfit its flavor - take it out and the whole thing loses a lot of interest.

Anyone here ever use those personal style services like Trunk Club where they ship boxes of clothes to your house to try out and you buy whatever you like and mail back whatever you don't like?

I've thought about trying it out but have read a lot of mixed reviews. Might give it a shot for a bit just to see what it's like. May be a better alternative to going to the store and re-upping my wardrobe personally.

Newsboy/pub caps look better with more than just a shirt on; better wear that with a sweater or overcoat.

What makes me really mad however: I can barely button the jacket without it bulging. Yet the sleeves are too long, halfway past my thumb.

The problem with cheap clothes is they inevitably fit badly; you would think not, but it's true. If you are in shape you need higher quality to fit properly.

Repairs on those Orang-u-tang sleeves will cost more than the jacket itself.

RE: Fashion and Style Lounge
Dalaran, I have to be a party breaker, but for your own sake, you should avoid avoid it if it's cheap stuff from Alibaba, Banggood etc.

Several members gave you some pointers already (such as poor quality). I will give you another, maybe the most important one - toxicity. By that, I do not mean that you be perceived as a toxic individual, or attract toxic people!

Most of those clothing is made from poor quality fabric, which, in many cases, contains very dangerous elements, such as lead (and sometimes much worse things, such as mercury...). Those elements can cause harm to your skin (or, in case of lead, sterile). I am telling you from personal experience - I developed severe rash because of a pair of fake Nike shirts as a kid.

If you really want something like that (and I don't blame you, it is on my hit list as well), rather buy something that is genuine Italian (that design looks like Armani), from sites such as Ebay. Yes, you will pay at least several hundred $$$, but that bad boy will last you forever, and will not give you a ''death from a thousand cuts''. It will not be too hard to find something for your size, because Italians are short people in general.
