Yeah, all white looks silly, when I saw the pictures you have posted (and also when I searched the Internet).

The last three pictures look really good. And since I am Mediterranean white (and bearded), it may look better on me than on these guys.

White on white can be done but it will require a lot of confidence and something to add color or breaks like bracelets, sunglasses tucked into unbuttoned part of your shirt, possibly tucking in the shirt to create a break with a nice belt, and even a bandanna hanging out of the back pocket.

Regarding accessories and girls honing in on them, the best accessories would be a dog, a child, or even a hot girl, followed by anything you wear like bracelets, sunglasses, bandannas, watches, nice boots. Girls and people in general notice them and what they do is create a 3rd party buffer to initiate conversation. She can compliment your boots or ask what your dog's name is without blatantly coming on to you and it just seeming like small talk, thereby allowing herself to be in a position where she will not be rejected because she is not actually putting herself at risk (her talking directly to you VS her talking to you about X). Like WIA mentioned, "she poked the lion." Any comment on this should mean it is game on.

Thoughtful accessories that can highlight your unique qualities about you are the best. Speak Spanish? Carry around Jorge Luis Borges book so when she asks you what you're reading you can show that you are multilingual without being a jack off about it. Outdoorsman? Wear your knife in the back pocket so it peeks out a little bit or just walk in smelling like a camp fire. Someone mentioned a Japanese silk pocket square in another thread. Great way to say you travel or do business in Asia.

A good exercise is to think of what makes you yourself and what skills you have and then imagine you'd have to convey them to someone else without using any words and only visually.

Agreed. They suck so I tend to make them look stylish for that reason. I always take them out and put in a buckle that looks cool or buy one with a cool buckle.

I feel this is subjective especially taking into consideration where you are from.

For example where I come from jewelry means money and to some degree status. It not only attracts gold diggers but all kinds of women. Men will also appreciate some fine jewelry

Simple, understated jewelry can look nice. I'm rather OCD about my clothes and wear very nice jeans, shirts, and shoes, but nothing that flaunts wealth or status. Only people who are fellow geeks about denim, leather, etc. will notice what I'm wearing, which is fine with me. Jewelry draws too much attention to itself, which is why I tend to avoid it - but the right pieces can be a good accent to your style.

As far as belts go, I have a couple West End bridle belts from an English company called Equus, one I've had for four years and it looks and feels amazing. Really nice quality and classic, understated designs that work well with just about anything. I always wear shirts untucked, but a belt like this really adds to the look if you tuck yours in.

I would wear leather shoes except the problem being that in a crowded warehouse where there are copious amounts of drugs. People tend to spill booze and step on feet so I wouldn't rock the leather as they would get worn out fast. This is speaking from experience as I use to do that.

I only do it now when I'm up there playing a set.

They look like shit right now due to wear and tear, but because they are black in a dark warehouse, field, or club they'll be fine. No point in ruining a nice pair of shoes.

Granted if you have money to blow I would have leather shoes and only keep them for such events and not wear them otherwise just like I do with these.

Yesterday I was on the verge of copping a Adidas style shoe similar to this one. All back of course. The downside of those is that pick up all the debris and they can be hard to clean back to their original state after that occurs.

In the dark most people don't notice. I have different shoes I wear on a night out than I do during the day so it allows me to differentiate.

Those all black on black little sneakers look like referee shoes for rec league games. Or what a busboy would wear at a restaurant where they have to wear all black to look somewhat dignified.

When I shop shoes online, 90%+ of all men's shoes are either black or dark brown:



To me, these shoes represent the "Greater Beta"s' strategy of understatement - high value, but wanting to remain in the background, because in the spotlight they will get tested and they can't handle that. They'd rather just passively "get noticed" for the high-value guys that they really are.

On the other side of the spectrum, there are shoes that will put the spotlight on you and make people watch you:



I own the ones on the right, and when I wear them, even good friends will get testy. One recently asked me snidely "are you going to the carnival?" It's because they notice the female attention I get and that they are falling behind. They have to protect their ego now by trying to pull you down to their level.
(I wear them with a light grey trouser, matching yellow belt, and white shirt, which gives me a very balanced colour palette - not carnival-like at all)

If you don't want to go this far, at least splash the old dark brown/black "safe choice" shoe up with a little colour:



Most of these shoes are not expensive by the way - my yellow floris van bommels cost me 300 euros, but the other ones depcited here (melvin & hamilton) are 150 a pair.

Regarding the point that hwuzhere made concerning non-black shoes/leather shoes getting worn out quicker in a club setting where there is spilled booze etc. - yes, they do require higher maintenance efforts. But isn't that the basic principle of "peacocking"? Showing off that "My resources and capabilities are so big, I can handle things that require higher effort - this other guy here with the all black run-of-the-mill sneakers... he can't."

They have some good-looking shoes... Found a few my that would be cool when spring comes around.



Coupled with light chinos, an off-white Oxford long-sleeve and turquoise/white belt. Grey wool blazer with floral vermilion/okra pocket square to finish it off.



Alternative to white Chucks, these could be pretty versatile.

Yeah, exactly - make another accessory that you wear match the colour of the shoes - your belt, pocket square or tie. Wearing colourful shoes can make you stand out, but it can also easily look like a fashion "mistake". You need to make it look like an integral part of who you are. Using the colour on another part of your clothing will make the shoes seem much more natural.

What do you guys rock with a Nike Track Jacket?



Mine is similar but it's all black with a grey logo, and I haven't worn it in a while. I'd rather not have something I paid quite a bit for($80 4 years back) go to waste.
