I'm currently dating a girl from Western Europe. Things start to get a bit serious. One thing that's bothering me is her inability to be honest with herself. This is something I saw in most West-European girls I dated. They do what they want, don't take a lot of responsibility for it and seem to have never learned to reflect on their actions.

I banged an American woman last year. I found that if I asked her questions about how she wants to live her life, she is very upfront and honest. She flew accross the continent to bang me and had no problems doing so, because she felt very free about expressing what she wanted. It was refreshing. Way less drama.

What I get also from American podcasts about dating - Mating Grounds - is that it's accepted in American culture that a girl at least has some consciousness on what she's doing. And that drama is not acceptable, or immature. Of course there are exceptions, but this seems to be the trend.

Is this true? Or am I wrong? Anyone with experience with both Western-European women and American women who can tell a bit?

North America is culturally diverse and Western Europe is even more. It is really hard to generalize. Spain is different from France which is very different from Sweden.

I have a Spanish girl who flies to the U.S. to bang me and a couple of months ago I had an English girl who did the same. If you turn a woman on enough she will do what she can to see you, it doesn't matter where she's from.

Honest about intentions? number of sexual partners? their feelings? their emotional baggage? their authenticity?

Your example seems to portray a women acknowledging something purely physical as honesty. Thats just slutty hook up culture 101.

No. Most women are not honest to themselves which is the true mark of how honest a person is. Doesn't matter where they are from.

I feel that american girls (at least girls from LA) were the most terrible ones I ever went out with.

And even girls that came from other cities. Way different from what I'm used to in Brazil. Girls were not very sincere, when I thought the date was going well, it ended up badly (the girl never calling me back). It took me a long time to get good at dating american girls.

I had better luck with girls that had parents from a different country, I've dated this Polish/American chick for a while.

American girls will not be very sincere about what they think, feel or whatever. I say American girl cause I went out with girls from Philadelphia, New York, South Dakota, Florida, Texas... etc (although they all moved to LA).

It seems that the norm is to hide their true emotion on a date. As a latino I had a lot of trouble reading them cause latina girls are way more obvious. Brazillian girls are extremely obvious, you know very fast if the girl likes you or not, while American girls are very good pretenders... I believe that American guys (at least experienced daters/players) will know what's happening cause of their experience.

Took a lot of dates to get used to it and to understand that I, couldn't really read the girls emotions or body language that well. hahaha.

Funny enough I went out with a Texas model that was from an Ukranian/Mexican background. She was hot, but the hardest to read of all times, maybe it was the Ukranian background.

I did well with Sweddish girls in the USA. They all seemed to find me exotic and hot. LA girls weren't very impressed with me.

I've lived here for the better part of four decades and I'm still no good at it. About the only relationships that felt "honest" were the girls I "dated" in college, where the first "date" was grabbing some beers and heading straight to my dorm room. No cell phones, not much Internet use back then. It was sort of a golden age.

Sometimes that would lead to a long term relationship - years even. Still felt pretty "honest" at that age, though.

In my 30s? Nowadays the "good first date" with an American girl where she seems into you, great conversation, maybe even make out and grabs your dick and then never hear from her again - par for the course as everyone here knows.

Sometimes they do make their true intentions pretty clear, but when an American girl does that, in opposition to the "standard" it can as often be an indicator that there's something not right mentally there as well. An American girl coming on strong can happen, but keep your guard up, particularly if they're older.
