Delta flight attendants come to blows in the air
http://www.secretflying.com/2016/02/delt...n-the-air/

"The two female flight attendants had a disagreement over “work issues” on flight DL2598 from Los Angeles to Minneapolis on 22nd January. A third woman attempted to break up the fight to no avail. The captain then decided to divert the plane to Salt Lake City and make an unscheduled landing there.

According to the Aviation Herald, the captain decided to land the plane because he “wanted to hear from his flight attendants.” The plane remained on the tarmac for 80 minutes before taking off again and arriving at Minneapolis more than an hour late.

Delta Air Lines sent out letters to the passengers on the flight to apologise for the inconvenience caused. As a gesture of goodwill, SkyMiles members received bonus miles, while non-member passengers received travel vouchers."

Show of hands, who was surprised to learn the flight attendants were "women"?

It is likely that multiple people missed important events in their life because these two "women" decided to try out for the UFC mid-flight.

Who decided that it was pertinent to remove their gender from reporting the news in the 2nd link?

I'm surprised it was an actual delta flight, not a regional carrier flying under the delta banner.

looking for a new signature.

It's a 757 (as of this writing it's at 39,000 feet going 498 kts over Valentine, Nebraska), they have at least 4 FAs, surely the girls could be restrained. No reason to divert the flight.

Who wants to bet the pilot was cheating on wifey with both the flight attendants?
Gamerecognized
When they found out all hell broke loose so he landed the plane to take the heat off himself

A Virgin America flight was diverted several years ago because the pilot was banging two of the flight attendants, and they discovered it mid flight.

A plane full of people and not 1 photo or cell phone video? Are they just making up news stories now?

Interesting thought that the pilot could have been banging one of them. I wondered if he was just a beta and afraid to take charge.

How is he supposed to simultaneously stay inside the cockpit and fly the plane and be breaking up fights in the galley at the same time?

^^^
Most flights have a pilot and a redundant co-pilot, one of whom is required in the cockpit at all times. I believe this is required by international law.

Airline protocol calls for diverting an aircraft to the nearest suitable airport if a physical altercation is detected. The flight deck is locked down and no one is allowed to enter or exit. The captain made the right decision.

I assume once the cockpit doors have been locked and the plane is underway nobody is supposed to open the door again until the plane is back on the ground. Otherwise you could have some guys booking first class and just waiting for the opportunity to rush the pilot during entry/exit of cockpit in flight.

Seems like what Rislander says confirms this.

RE: Delta flight attendants come to blows in the air
I thought this thread was going to be about flight attendants blowing passengers.

"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.

Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector.

Not completely true. After all, we need to get out to use the bathroom during long flights!

Without being specific, there are measures in place to ensure that nobody can rush the flight deck while we open the door.
