RE: The Canada Political Thread
Just bumping because today is the Saskatchewan provincial election.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchew...-1.3516580

The leftist and globalist CBC seems to be conceding the election already to Brad Wall's Saskatchewan Party, which is fun.

Quote:The Saskatchewan Party won in a landslide in 2011, with a historic high of 64.3 per cent of the popular vote. Can the party hold or even exceed that result this time around?

Leader Brad Wall and his party have held a strong lead in the polls, but the past four years have brought their share of controversy, from exploding smart meters to dubious carbon capture claims at the government-owned power company, issues with the expensive and controversially located Regina bypass and mounting government debt and projected deficits.

If the Saskatchewan Party does win on Monday, it will be the first party besides the Liberals (in the 1920s) and the CCF/NDP to win a third successive term in the province. It will also prolong Wall's outsized role on the national stage as one of the leading voices of Canadian conservatism — and one of the biggest thorns in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's side.

My prediction for tonight - the incumbent Sask. Party retains a majority government with over 50% of the vote, but their record setting numbers will fall slightly as people won't be as enthused to turn out and vote for the incumbents as last time.

My analysis is that people in Saskatchewan are so tickled they actually have industries to work in (oil and gas, potash) that they don't care as much about progressive 'causes' like carbon footprints and other PC garbage. It is like night and day compared to 10-15 years ago when the Provincial Government was openly hostile to all industries except the public sector. It is also likely nice for the citizens of the Province to have a premier who stands up to that cuck Trudeau.

The deficit in Sask. is a paltry $100 million. I think it is totally unnecessary, but that's not the point. The deficit is being run by Wall simply to wedge the opposition NDP. Hilariously, the NDP have tried to go both ways on this issue, having criticized the Sask. Government for years for not "investing" (spending) enough and now, during the campaign, constantly harping on a minor deficit in a single fiscal year (where everyone understands oil revenues are down significantly) as being fiscally "irresponsible".

Truth be told, the hapless NDP Government in my home Province is probably the biggest contributor to this year's electoral success of the Saskatchewan Party and the reason the Sask. NDP are likely to lose big today. In other words, the populace in Sask. takes one look at neighbouring Alberta and screams "NO".

Truth be told, I'm a bit envious of Sask. today. They get to vote for a fiscally conservative (by Canadian standards) party that puts the Province first. We don't have that in Alberta.

I like Brad Wall. Between him and Christy Clark Alberta is flailing trying to show their Ontario masters that they hold some clout out here.

Both BC and SK have had to recover a brutal NDP government, and now Alberta has its time. Sad thing is that here in BC the rumblings of the ever bored and over fed activists and baby boomers are starting to make noise.

I just hope that BC can hang on to the Liberals just a while longer, at least until AB overthrows the NDP and gets back on track. A conservative west with the ability to work well together will bring Canada back on stage. We don't even need Trudeau out here if we can learn to work together.

Brad's Party is one of the best in the country currently. They'll win, and deservingly so.

With Ottawa deficit spending, its important for provinces to bring forward balanced budgets. BC and Saskatchewan have delivered for years, Quebec surprisingly joined them with a balanced budget this year.

Luckily the BC NDP is still such a cluster-fuck, they are still super deep in debt from the last election and have resorted to selling their prime Vancouver real estate HQ to make a dent in it. They also have a huge internal schism in the mix with the union pro-labour faction bickering with the environmentalist faction. For some reason the idealogues in the party are thinking of banning Union and Corporate donations, furthering their financial clusterfuck.

Looking at the 2013 map, the Liberals have a much stronger centre-right coalition in place, they manage to get the more right-leaning mainland BC rural voters and the fiscal responsible leaning urban voters in the more affluent Vancouver and suburban seats. The BC NDP's coalition is much weaker, especially with the schism going on.

The Liberals have also been smart in quasi promoting the BC Green party to eat into the NDP's base to take advantage of the schism going on. The Greens have an opening to take more seats on the island and eat into the progressive vote in Vancouver. Weaver is a lot more charismatic than Horgan.

Meanwhile the BC NDP lost a lot of "talent" that fled to Alberta to work with Notley, while Albertan Conservatives left Alberta to work with Christy. NDP is also in the awkward position where they can't take advantage of "Trudeau-ism" as their rules prevents Federal Liberals from joining the party provincially, and of course to the less informed who voted for Weed and Trudeau all they see is the name BC Liberal and think the party is related to the LPC and Trudeau.

Even though my views link up to BCLP, in order to prevent NDP returning next year I'll be volunteering/trolling with the Greens to help them eat into the NDP's urban votes.

RE: The Canada Political Thread
My prediction proved correct.

Sask. Party wins its third majority government, losing just one seat from their 2011 result. Turnout was low and the % vote for the incumbents down about a percent from the record result last time.

NDP leader lost his own seat. Laugh

It must chap CBC's ass to report this stuff.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchew...-1.3520974

Quote:The Saskatchewan Party captured just under 63 per cent of the vote and prevailed in 51 of the province's 61 constituencies. The New Democrats took just over 30 per cent of the vote and won 10 seats.

Those tallies in 2011 were barely different: 64 per cent and 52 seats for the Saskatchewan Party (on the expanded electoral map) against 32 per cent and nine seats for the NDP.

Only three seats changed hands. The New Democrats picked up Prince Albert Northcote and Regina Douglas Park — both of them targeted ridings — but lost Saskatoon Westview. That just happened to be NDP leader Cam Broten's constituency.

At the provincial level, then, the analysis of the results is a simple one: with only a few exceptions, it appears that the people who voted for the Saskatchewan Party in 2011 did so again in 2016, and those who voted for the New Democrats in 2011 did so again in 2016.

For Brad Wall and the Saskatchewan Party, that is a remarkable feat for a government seeking a third term in office. They only just failed to better their popular vote result of the previous election, which was the best that any party has ever done in the province's history. Wall will have to comfort himself with posting just the second-highest vote share in Saskatchewan's electoral history last night.

...

The Saskatchewan Party did take a small step backwards in Saskatchewan's two largest cities, dropping about three points in Saskatoon and more than six points in Regina. The Saskatchewan Party still won these cities with about 56 and 49 per cent, respectively, but its margin of victory was reduced.

It was not reduced as much as it might have been, however. The New Democrats only made small gains in the two cities, up one point in Saskatoon to 38 per cent and two points in Regina to 43 per cent.

The problem for the New Democrats was that they were unable to take advantage of the Saskatchewan Party's small slide in the cities. Instead, the Liberals were up to 4 per cent in Saskatoon and 5 per cent in Regina. Those were ballots the New Democrats would have desperately wanted to win. Had they gone their way, Broten would have held his seat.

But while the Saskatchewan Party's overall support in the urban parts of the province took a downturn (they were down one seat overall in the province's urban areas, thanks to the loss in Prince Albert), the party increased its advantage over the New Democrats elsewhere.

Brad Wall's party took 72 per cent of the vote in Saskatchewan's rural constituencies, up about a point from its performance in 2011. The New Democrats, however, slid five points to only 20 per cent in this part of the province.

The Regina results bother me a bit. The NDP picked up many of their seats there. It is the capital of Saskatchewan and home of most of the public sector employment. It's time to rethink whether people employed by big government should be able to vote for an even bigger share of the private sector wealth needed to fund it.

Otherwise, congratulations to the people of Saskatchewan. Albertans look on in envy.

Amazing capture of the political scene.

Interesting what you note about the Greens. I don't actually have too many problems with the Greens outside some of the Parroting they do on bullshit issues. Part of it is due to the feeling that they are not a contender, so when they start making a huge fuss about Campus Sexual Violence or some other SJW platform I just laugh and shake my head.

But I do have mixed feelings on Site C. That is my families traditional lands and I have a lot of love for the valley. But there are already two dams up there, and this one will just be a little further along. So its not really messing up too much more than already has been by the WAC Bennett.

I like the tact of taking away votes from the NDP by working with the Greens. Never thought of that, but here in the DTES of Vancouver it could be amazing to watch the Left tear each other apart. I live right by BC Hydro anf the tent city is up and the usual suspects are all hanging out making noise.

I don't think BCLP has much to worry about, but knocking the NDP down another notch would certainly not hurt.

The Federal Tory leadership race appears to be underway.

Barring the entry of a friend of mine into the race, I'm going to support Maxime Bernier. He seems to be a pretty principled guy who manages to get huge majorities in Quebec which is the least conservative province.

It's always a delicate situation here in BC balancing the economy and the environment, I'm also mixed on site C, it's a great big infrastructure project that is gaining Christy fans in the north from labour groups (much to the dismay of the NDP) and cheap energy is essential to a healthy economy (look at how much Ontario is taxing, making even Hydro expensive) but just being in the region you gain sympathy at times for the locals against it.

For the most part, the Greens come across as fiscally right moderates, they know that there's an opening to gain advantage from the NDP hence them parroting a lot of SJW shit.

After the NDP convention fiasco (Next post), the BC Liberals must be extremely happy. Christy is already slamming Horgan.

I'm in the LM as well, just moved back out to the burbs for a bit, was in Kits.

RE: The Canada Political Thread
So the NDP has gone full retard following this weekend's convention, voting to adopt the Leap Manifesto and voting to oust Mulcair.

The Leap Manifesto is pretty much the work of Toronto champagne socialists who are planning a complete take over of the NDP undoing much of Layton's and Mulcair's great work to make the party actually electable. The manifesto pretty much throws western and rural Canada under the bus, destroying the NDP's chances federally in the west and dooming the provincial parties in Manitoba, BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. And to think the NDP's roots can be found in the CCF (Saskatchewan).

Most western NDP heavyweights are against the Manifesto, and even some are calling for Notely to split from the federal party. The Albertan branch is saying:"we have nothing to do with this nonsense"

Here in BC, Horgan is scrambling as Christy is already hammering this and the NDP can't do shit as the federal and provincial party = the same. The fact that the leadership vote will be two years away doesn't help the NDP's financial situation as that race will eat up a lot of cash. Strategically what should be done here in BC to save the party is to let the enviroMENTALists leave and join the Greens, scaring the moderate fiscal right branch of the Greens to go to the Libs.

Might be crazy but the best option for the provincial western NDP players is defection. Leave the party and establish centre-left party with labour roots, if they stick with the Toronto champagne socialists the party is done, the NDP is a non-player in Ontario politics. I can't imagine the Quebec NDP wing is happy as that wing is pro-mulcair.

The fact that they name this thing "Leap Manifesto" should show just how crazy the Toronto champagne socialists are, naming it after one of the largest humanitarian disasters. Read about it here: http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada...ist-voters

"The document defines austerity as “a threat to life on earth.” It recommends abandoning the vast wheat fields of the Prairies in favour of “localized” organic farms."
Yeah, good luck ever getting a vote in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and rural Ontario ever again.

I've always had a soft spot on the NDP as it's a power check on the federal Liberals' arrogance and splits the left vote (Layton was still a pragmatic politician at times, holding up Harper's minority governments), but now the party is going to go back in time to a party that only wins 10-15 seats letting the Liberals have free reign, Trudeau and Gerard Butts must be happy.

RE: The Canada Political Thread
Update on the above re:NDP in BC and their incoming schism and demise

For decades, the BC Building Trades unions have been closely aligned with and publicly supported the BC NDP up to and including the 2013 BC election. The other day the Building Trades unions held their annual convention in Victoria and BC Liberal cabinet minister Shirley Bond was a guest speaker.
Bond received a standing ovation and was warmly thanked by the executive director and invited to speak at the national convention in May.
Completely unheard of. The guest speaker following Bond, Carole James of the BC NDP, received a public rebuke on the podium.

This was completely inconceivable until recently. The federal equivalent would be Harper getting a standing ovation at a Unifor event.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/brit...e29603376/

The only reason they lost the last election was because at the last moment they came out against the Kinder Morgan Pipeline expansion (when prior they were on the fence), making them look as if they were against all industrial projects in BC, turning large numbers of the working class against them. BC is a resource rich province and as part of the world economy, extraction should continue to be a valued part of our economy (although we should also focus on building more value added facilities / industries around those resources)

The BC Liberals will only strengthen their centre-right coalition with the addition of the working class. The BC NDP will try to play the environmental progressive game but will fail to the Greens. They will be a large chunk of people still voting NDP out of habit, but with what's going on provincially and federally with the NDP, I don't see them as a viable party within the next two decades.

Interesting chat I had with my friend out east, he's involved with his school's political scene and the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) is pretty much a socialist marxist run disaster. Many career students take advantage of it and its a massive circle jerk, enriching themselves via the pool of money the federation collects from student bodies. He pointed out that many of these types go on to get pushy positions within the NDP, and he's been predicting the NDP's demise based on this fact for quite some time.

I must admit, I almost feel sorry for Mulcair. He builds a strong NDP base in Quebec, makes the NDP the most electable its ever been then when he loses to PM selfie, his party axes him and adopts a document that alienates half the country.

The leap manifesto truly is a massive Torontonian middle finger aimed straight at Alberta and BC

He pointed out that many of these types go on to get pushy positions within the NDP, and he's been predicting the NDP's demise based on this fact for quite some time.

Can confirm that the Canadian Federation of Students is a socialist marxist run disaster. Bunch of Bernie lovers, "Gimmie dat" type people wanting the lowest of tuition prices and free education, multiculturalism, narrative promoting, skin and bones, genderless queers.

A case of the NDP, the left, eating itself once again?

I feel bad for the guy really, didn't agree with a lot of the things he or the NDP say, but I do have respect for him. Also, that LEAP manifesto might as well have thrown on a gay pride sticker and a Vegan-approved stamp.

CFS is a scam. It is a corrupted lobbying group that serves to enrich themselves and nothing more. The whole setup is just to create a whole conveyer belt for weezy low T, queers, and over accomplished black girls to get a pipeline to cushy Ottawa gigs.

Tuition has gone up 187% I believe since rbeg started lobyying for tuition decreases. They steal $600+ a year from tens of thousands of students nation wide to fund them. They run juntas in the schools and use intimidating tactics at times to smear opposition. Ma to times they get elected with barley 15% of the student body voting for them. All a joke.

Another union disappointed with the NDP, this time the Steelworkers Union released an internal memo that was leaked, criticizing the party and calling their performance lackluster. Even going as far to threaten to pull funding

http://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/...ze-b-c-ndp

The NDP will continue their pandering to the university latte sipping environmentalists, the reason for this is because most of the party bigwigs all come from an urban riding, they are worried about the greens eating into the big player's vote shares in specific region, leading them to abandon the more rural/suburban working class votes in order to save their own skin and pensions.

Southern Van Isle:

1. John Horgan
2. Carole James
3. Rob Fleming
4. Lana Popham

Inner Van City proper:

1. Adrian Dix
2. David Eby
3. George Heyman
4. Spencer Chandra Herbert

Good article showcasing the fact that the NDP is too Victoria focused (gubermint jerbs) and should look outside the city and region, otherwise they'll continue to fight the Greens: http://www.ottawacitizen.com/opinion/col...story.html

I had my concerns about Christy (still do) but she proved a lot of people wrong after the 2013 election. She's very good at strategy and politics, her rise to power was ignoring the "sick" culture of Victoria and instead built off the mainland

^You're spot on, Victoria is a confusing place, so many hippies and yuppies there but even the blu collar guys there are out in left field. I spent a few months there last year and couldn't believe that the boiler makers I was working with were hardcore NDP. These guys have their heads up their ass and I guess don't care about their union bros across Canada who work in the oil patch, which the NDP would probably shit down if they could. That Leap Manifesto is insane!

God damned them all, I was told we'd cruise the seas for American gold, we'd fire no guns-shed no tears, now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Barrett's privateers!

RE: The Canada Political Thread
It appears that Halifax just got Cologne'd: The Globe and Mail

Quote:The publisher of Nova Scotia’s largest newspaper apologized on Monday after one of its stories ignited a firestorm with unverified allegations that young Syrian refugees had attacked fellow students at a Halifax elementary school.

The Halifax Chronicle Herald story, which alleged numerous acts of playground abuse at Chebucto Heights Elementary School – including an incident in which one “refugee boy” choked a girl in Grade 3 with a chain while yelling “Muslims rule the world,” and another in which “refugee students” threatened others on the soccer field – was published online late Friday and in the paper’s Saturday edition. It suggested school administrators had responded weakly to the alleged abuse.

After criticism on social media, editors removed some details from the online story, including the religious reference and the mention of the chain, and softened the original headline, prompting some critics to complain the paper was bowing to “political correctness.” But on Monday the entire article was removed from the site and replaced with a lengthy editor’s note, which also ran in the paper, saying the piece had “needed more work.”

“Bullying is a sensitive subject. So is the integration of newcomers, particularly those who have faced challenges, even trauma, on their way here,” the note read.

“Our story was incomplete and insufficiently corroborated, given the serious nature of the allegations.”

It added: “Reaction to the story was all over the map, from thoughtful to downright scary.”

The paper’s publisher, Sarah Dennis, apologized to Elwin LeRoux, the superintendent of the Halifax Regional School Board.

Insiders at the Chronicle Herald noted the paper’s staff has been on strike for 12 weeks, with many inexperienced reporters taking their place. They suggested managers may have missed the holes in the story’s reporting because of overwork and exhaustion. In a Facebook post, Martin O’Hanlon, the president of CWA Canada, the union representing the paper’s staff, said, “This would never have happened if real journalists were on the job instead of scabs.”

In an e-mail to The Globe and Mail, Ms. Dennis played down the role of the strike in the retracted story. “Humans make mistakes. There have been errors before the union walked off the job and unfortunately there have been errors during the labour disruption.”

The story’s heady cocktail of refugee politics, ineffectual bureaucrats, and whiffs of schoolyard jihad and religious imperialism proved irresistible to websites that traffic in anti-Muslim sentiment – such as those belonging to commentator Ezra Levant, whose upstart Rebel Media outlet has been one of the most persistent critics of the federal government’s Syrian refugee policy, and Pamela Geller, the New York-based activist whose star rose with her successful campaign against the so-called Ground Zero Mosque.

The story was also picked up by an Australian news site, which teased the article from its front page with a photo of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In an interview, Mr. LeRoux said school board staff had investigated the allegations and, though they had not conducted an exhaustive review, had so far come up empty-handed. “They reported there was nothing they could connect from an incident that happened at school that was related to what was in the paper,” he said. “They were quite shocked at the details of what was in there. Some of it was quite sensational.”

Mr. LeRoux estimated that “upwards of 35 to 40 students, and maybe even 50” newcomers have joined the student population, which numbered 299 last September, and he cautioned that sensational or flawed reporting can damage and stereotype a school community.

“Even if there’s conflict in our schools, what we’re talking about … are young kids, kids who are between the ages of five and 12. We’re talking about kids who are learning what it means to get along with other members of society, no matter how they came to be in the classroom.”

Rebel Media went and interviewed some of the parents and students behind the allegations:

^ Further to the above story, the CBC and Halifax Chronicle Herald are in full "preserve the narrative" mode. They are overtly attempting to sweep this whole story under the rug. They also do not mention (deliberately in my view given the exposure its got in social media) the Rebel's attempts to corroborate the story. I get it, because it's easier to pretend this stuff isn't happening than face uncomfortable truths that reveal your belief system is totally ill-founded.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scoti...-1.3537537

Quote:Chronicle Herald columnist Lezlie Lowe has quit her position, citing concerns with the journalism in a story the paper published about refugee children at Chebucto Heights Elementary School.

The article, called "Parents worried over school kids' brutality," appeared online a week ago and in last Saturday's print edition.

It made allegations of violence and bullying and quoted a parent, using only her nickname, who said refugee students twice choked her daughter with a chain and that one boy yelled "Muslims rule the world."

The story didn't cite any other sources to corroborate the claims, nor did it quote any officials from the school. It has since been criticized by the paper's publisher and the head of the Halifax Regional School Board.

Lowe says the story didn't sit well with her over the weekend and on Monday she told the paper's owner and her editor that she was quitting. Her final column announcing the decision ran today.

"The story lays bare the worst of the worst xenophobia in our city and our province. It lacks all proportion. Balance eludes it, start to finish," she wrote in her farewell column.

...

The article, which is no longer available online, sparked widespread criticism from the public and journalism community and prompted a statement from the school board.

On Monday, superintendent Elwin LeRoux said the accusations made were untrue and he was "deeply offended to see the school represented so inaccurately."

"The language and the tone of the article were both harmful and hurtful to students, staff and the community of Chebucto Heights — and to our entire school system," he said.

A spokesman for the Halifax Regional School Board said Friday that the school's principal spoke with "many parents" about the allegations and none have said they are true.

...

On Monday, the paper ran a statement that said "our story was incomplete and insufficiently corroborated, given the serious nature of the allegations."

Publisher Sarah Dennis addressed the story again in Friday's paper, saying it should not have been released.

"We should have asked more questions to clarify what happened and to get broader, more balanced perspectives to ensure that refugee children in the school would not be negatively impacted," she said.

In relation to Lowe's departure, she said: "We are very sorry to lose Lezlie as a talented columnist, but we respect her decision."

Given Faith Goldy's work above, this looks like active suppression of the facts in the local and national media. Canada has become an actual dystopia. I wonder if there were a Muslim terrorist attack here if it would be even acknowledged in the media. Possibly, but only in the most dishonest way, such as "Several square miles of Toronto mysteriously replaced with a smoking, radioactive crater - experts baffled."

Here's a pic of the useless SJW who says she quit her job over this (really I think she's quitting over the ongoing labour action taking place at the Chronicle Herald):

RE: The Canada Political Thread
American media is starting to pick up on how dangerous Canada's reckless immigration policies are for the USA.

Quote:Canada’s sloppy, rushed and reckless Syrian refugee resettlement program is America’s looming national security nightmare.

Donald Trump shouldn’t just be promising to build a Mexican border wall. He (and any other sovereignty-minded presidential candidate) should be vowing to rebuild the decimated “wall” of first-line watchdogs, field enforcement and patrol officers on our northern border.

The urgency could not be greater.

The Canadian liberal government has fast-tracked tens of thousands of Syrian Muslims into its country over the past five months and now plans to double its interim 25,000 goal by 2019. The bleeding-heart Canucks are forging ahead despite reports this week of the country’s failed $16 million screening program to stop Islamic terrorists from slipping through the cracks.

Multiple databases are not interoperable. Information is outdated or useless. Canadian agents are delivering incomplete background checks too late to matter, anyway. Result: Garbage in, garbage out, and untold numbers of unvetted refugees from jihad hotbeds on the loose at our doorstep. (As if the 1,500 Syrian refugees a month that the U.S. State Department is directly importing here through November aren’t enough of a security headache!)

Instead of moving to fortify our northern border, Washington is diverting our boots on the ground and downsizing our fleet of surveillance pilots in the skies. Turnover is high, morale is low, and the jihadists’ path to illegal entry has never been smoother.

In Plattsburgh, New York, 45 miles from Syrian refugee dumping ground Montreal, the Customs and Border Patrol’s air branch has been slashed from 25 pilots down to a shocking six in the last three years. Shifts have been reduced to bankers’ hours, while terror plotters and smugglers never rest. Members of Congress have been alerted to the perilous impact of downsizing, but have done nothing (except, that is, to fully fund the White House refugee resettlement racket).

In Montana, Reuters reported earlier this year, our federal enforcement force is still so understaffed that the Border Patrol depends on 100 private citizen ranchers along the northern border to police the U.S.-Canada boundaries.
Of 21,000 total Border Patrol agents, only 2,100 are assigned to the northern border. There are only about 300 agents guarding the entire northern border at any one time. That’s less than the number of Capitol police on duty to protect the Capitol complex in D.C. alone, Buffalo, New York, sector Border Patrol agent Dean Mandel of the National Border Patrol Council pointed out to Congress.

Little has changed since Border Patrol agents in Washington state first told me 15 years ago of vast, abandoned sectors protected by nothing but orange rubber cones — even in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.

Little has changed since the 9/11 Commission spotlighted multiple al-Qaida operatives involved in cross-border traffic and incursions (both legal and illegal) from Canada.

Little has changed since the U.S. Government Accountability Office reported in 2011 that a measly 32 miles out of the 4,000-mile border was deemed secure by Border Patrol agents heavily dependent on non-DHS personnel for support.

A U.S. source who works for the Department of Homeland Security on the northern border told me last week that there remain vast “no-go zones” in his upstate New York sector that stretch for miles unpoliced — such as the notoriously smuggler-friendly Akwesasne reservation, where Mohawks are notoriously hostile to our Border Patrol, Air and Marine operations, and field operations agents.

“There’s a gigantic hole on our northern border,” my source described, where “people from countries of interest are crossing” into America. “Special interest countries,” as the U.S. Army War College Guide to National Security defines it, are those “designated by the intelligence community as countries that could export individuals that could bring harm to our country in the way of terrorism.”

“Yes, I’ve personally seen them. Every day. We call them ‘gotaways,'” my source sighed. These newest border-jumpers are detected (by high-tech cameras and motion sensors), but neglected because the core national security mission is not a priority and no one’s around to act on the alerts.

On the southern border, “gotaways” spiked 100 percent between 2011 and 2013. This year, as illegal trespassers from dangerous special interest countries have increased through Mexico, a Border Patrol whistleblower told Congress two months ago that his supervisors ordered agents to fudge data on “gotaways” by omitting them from data reports.

Think the same whitewashing is going on up north? You betcha.

As the disgusted northern border CBP official told me: “The attitude is no paperwork, no problems.” No problems, of course, until that one ISIS operative toting a dirty bomb in his bag rolls right across the wide open U.S.-Canadian border — detected, but neglected — and our government’s malign neglect blows up in our faces.

Michelle Malkin can, at times, be a sloppy researcher but she has put together a powerful argument here. Canadians who like to vote Liberal should pay attention.

"If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president."
