Given that the general membership of this forum are intelligent men capable of critical and objective thinking, I think this thread could be a positive influence.

It could very well be be, but I'd suspect it also has a greater than 50% chance of someone getting banned and the thread ends up locked. Recall, "Post Your Unpopular Opinions". Keep that one in mind.

Well this thread is not going the direction I had hoped.

Ahem... I don't know much about MiscBrah as his postcount is low and his posts haven't stood out to me yet, but I'm assuming his username alludes to him being on the BBF Misc subforum. He has 5 rep points all from reputable members so I'd say he's vetted and he has met member as well. Will try to pay more attention to his posts.

Haha don't stress it man, I know you had good intentions. But the main issue I have with the thread is that we as men are already honest and straightforward towards each other, same like in any male-dominated place (think a construction site or the military).

Having to hold special events in order to "provide honest opinions" is how female-dominated environments function. They are never honest towards each other, so they occasionally need a designated occasion to vent.

Finally. I can express my confusion about Windom Earle's name. I know nothing about him but would assume by his datasheet links that he spends a lot of time in the travel sub forum, which I do not.

However, I have always been stumped by Windom Earle's name. I want to say "You're saying it wrong! Don't you mean Earle Nightingale!"...I did not know its actually a twin peaks character.

I've always liked Dr. Howard's often crass and entertaining demeanor. I feel like he's the kind of guy I would get along with with in person. I consider him a valuable member and a staple of the board. I tend to perk up when I see his name pop up in the thread. Also, because of his avatar, whenever he posts I imagine Curly Howard actually saying it.

Also I always think of Windom Earle's name as "Wisdom" spelled incorrectly and its bothersome.
