David Bowie passes age 69

Singer David Bowie has died at the age of 69 following a battle with cancer.
His son confirmed the news and a statement was released on his official social media accounts.
"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer," it said.
"While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief."
The singer only released his latest album Blackstar on his birthday on Friday.
There had been rumours about Bowie's health for years.
His last live performance was at a New York charity concert in 2006.
Blackstar, which includes just seven songs, has been well received by critics.
Bowie's breakthrough came with 1972's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars.
His hits include Let's Dance, Space Oddity, Heroes, Under Pressure, Rebel, Rebel, Life on Mars and Suffragette City.

I thought this was a troll at first but..damn. He really was a musical pioneer and didn't realize at all how messed up his health was. I thought he was just being rather reclusive for his own reasons. I guess cancer was that reason.

edit: Even if you think he was a poof, a liberal, and some kind of weird fucker (which he was probably all of the above) he was really some kind of extraordinary talent.

Prestige. He almost stole the show as Tesla.

The first time I heard Ziggy Stardust I thought, "Hey, this could have been released just yesterday". He was one of the very few musicians that made music that stayed fresh through the years.

I am not going to say "oh vey, what a loss" because people die and Im ok with influential artists dying. But hey, its a bummer.

Just listened to his music from the samples provides in this thread - absolutely didn't click with me.

His great work that I recognize was at movie labyrinth. That movie works wonders into getting girls into a receptive mood, because it is about mind control after all.
