Is this the same chick? I think you've invested too much time into her already. Just forget her and go harvest the bountiful fruit of Buenos Aires. Nonetheless, you have nothing to lose. I hate to be so frank but you got to move on.
If she genuinely had no clue you were interested in her after sooo long, you are not going to steer the boat now - not after reading the type of answer she gave you.
Still, if you want to go Kamikaze and ask her out, do it, it would be a learning experience, but you would be flagging a dead horse.
In the future, next time you go on a date with a new chick, make sure to escalate much much earlier. Dont get stuck in an ambiguous position. It is frustrating. Every time you go home after a date you must know where you stand with a girl. It is mandatory. Why? because she knows too and she has to make up her mind. So there is no doubt that if she accepts to come out on a 2nd date, she is going to put out.

OK cool, I'll go Kamikaze and that's it. I had forgotten about her, was really surprised she answered my email which was pretty kamikaze to begin with.

she "didn't know you were hitting on her" yikes...

That means you're not escalating nearly enough. No need to go completely overboard, as you'll just look desperate, but I'd definitely amp it up a couple notches. Good learning experience, IMO.
