I was curious so I took a look at the menu and was more offended by the prices.

$9.25 for a fucking hotdog that looks like it has a fat bitch's diarrhea sprayed on top and some standard topping.


$9.25 for a single patty burger with standard toppings and cheese. That's a small slim standard burger. They offer bacon at .92 a slice.
In n' out is like $2.25 for a standard cheeseburger.


This is a place cashing in on controversy. America is like the land of outrage marketing.

I strongly disagree with what you've said, mainly because Goldhawkstar said nothing about government banning orders.

He merely said that that obesity is going to end up being on everyone's tab if taxpayer funded universal healthcare is in place. He was clearly implying that a healthy society has some element of considerateness between people in place.

It's very unfair to call someone's argument 'dumb' when you have put in strong assumptions in place that were not there to begin with.

I've passed by the place quite a few times.

It's really just catering to the types of people that are in that area.

Downtown Vegas is a funny place. It used to be Vegas before the Strip existed. Then it sort of faded into obscurity and the D-list option for people who couldn't afford the strip (downtown Casinos also have better odds) There's a grimy, meth-addict, homeless, fat midwesterner element to downtown.

But in recent years it's suddenly become the place for locals to go to, so there's some decent restaurants popping up and some cool bars.

But there's still a strong element of Vegas D-list in downtown, specifically Fremont St, with hordes of fat families pouring in for cheap gambling and $9.95 prime rib specials. Go there on a Fri or Saturday night and it's a complete shitshow. You've never seen so many landwhales.

That's where Heart Attack Grill is located.

The Heart Attack Grill is a wonderful act of performance art in my mind, purely Vegas. It says "You stupid sloppy cunts hate your health that bad? PROVE IT TO ME! PAY ME FOR THE TOOLS THAT WILL HELP YOU KILL YOURSELF!!!" And people do exactly that.

Part of the reason I love the old strip so much is because the people there have exorcised their demons for the night, by committing slow suicide at the slot machines or at restaurants like the Heart Attack Grill. This is the only form of absolution most people can understand, and they wind up being quite wonderful while they're here; I normally hate crowds, but I love it there.

That said, the food isn't really all that unhealthy; it's paleo, more or less, and you get a lot of bang for your buck. It's better than your typical burger joint.

Trying to explain it with statements such as "They're costing healthcare more money," misses the point, and offers a rationalization for more bureaucratization; you can't legislate morality

The only issue I have with fat people is if/when they directly affect my life somehow. If someone's oversized ass is in my way and making it difficult to navigate or sit down then I consider that being inconsiderate. When fat people expect the world to accommodate them when it should be the other way around. Fuck those people.

Aside from that, let them be fat. The argument about us "picking up their tab" in the form of paying taxes for medical care is BS. We'd be paying it anyway. If you want to argue medical expenses, the cost of paying for cancer treatment for people who can't afford it dwarfs the cost of treating people with complications related to being overweight.

Veloce pretty much summed up the vibe perfectly.


But, the food doesn't even really look good. It just looks like he gets the cheapest ingredients possible from Smith's, the only difference is, he gives you MORE and with more butter or something.




This restaurant would lose money in almost any location except for the one its in.



Downtown Las Vegas is like the Holy Grail of people watching.

Several years ago, the Arizona Board of Nursing was in a snit about this. They asked the attorney general to write to the owner because according to state law, "only a person who holds a valid and current license to practice professional nursing … may use the title 'Nurse.'" (Source here.)

I know about this because I have a few friends on Facebook who are nurses, and they all posted this story and complained about the stereotype these "naughty nurse" uniforms caused.

Of course, when Halloween came around, what kind of costumes do you think they all wore?
