Sounds like a plan. The Russian Black Sea resorts will be hopping next summer given the fact that Egypt and Turkey are closed off now for political reasons. I don't know if you will hit up Crimea but I heard some good reports there and with the land bridge due to be completed by then, it should be a cinch.

Volgograd can be used as a base to further explore the region if one decides to venture further inland. I recall Hooligan Harry, a former poster here raving about Samara. From there follow the meandering Volga upstream and hit up Ulyanovsk, Kazan (Tatarstan). From there you can head east and wander into the foothills of the Urals into places like Ufa (Bashkortostan), Izhevsk (Udmurtia), Perm and Ekaterinburg.

You will also meet Asiatic women to whet your appetite; Tatars, Bashkirs, Mari (Finno Urgric) etc as well as Udmurtia which has the highest number of red heads per square meter. This is virgin country for blokes like us, real Lewis and Clark country. It's there waiting to be explored.

Having been to the Urals, I can say that it has perhaps the best looking women that I have ever encountered. I put that down to 800 years of raping and pillaging, intermarrying as well as Soviet resettlement policies.

I have been eyeing Volgograd like a hawk. It looks utterly depressing and extremely inexpensive. I might do a surgical strike to here or Samara (or both) over a weekend sometime soon.

This year is more recovery for me. Ideally, Mexico City in March, Europe in May, DR and Jamaica in the summer, and Cali in the Fall.

Doing alot of domestic travels this year. Brought the New Year in New York, Dallas and ATL last week, headed to LA and Big Bear this weekend, and New Orleans for Mardi Gras for Fat Tuesday.

I plan on doing a good bit of traveling this year compared to last year, mostly within America.

I'm gonna be going with Tex and another friend to Tennessee for some mountain climbing in the spring, then I'll be headed to the mountains of western Virginia in the summer with possible side trips to Gettysburg and NYC. I'm going to South Africa for six weeks in the fall, and I hope to visit a few neighboring countries as well. Definitely gonna check out victoria falls. Hopefully in the winter, I'll go to Utah for a couple days.

I really want to get down to Colorado and learn to ski or snowboard.

I'd also like to take a trip to Antartica but I want to make sure I do that one right.

I'm gonna be doing an internship on a sanctuary, I think within 50 km from Johannesburg. I'm gonna have weekends free so I'm hoping to meet up with any forum guys in the area.

Will do. I have been a member for several years. A recent Vietnam ride report irritated me with bad advice and a whiny attitude about the country so I have resolved to write at least one RR during this trip. This one will be different from the standard HCMC to Hanoi on a Win trip.
