Quintus Curtius's blog
I just want to draw attention to this blog as I've only seen it mentioned in passing, and I believe it deserves a lot more recognition.
http://qcurtius.com/
This man's ideas are fascinating and his interests are broad. Even though his writing is sometimes too intellectual for idiots such as myself to fully absorb, it is still worthwhile to read and meditate upon his essays.

RE: Quintus Curtius's blog
Hey, guys, much love from me here for the support. I just arrived at my apartment in Rio and the first thing I did (after taking a shower) was open up the Forum. Lo and behold, was surprised to see this thread, so thanks much.
I'll be loading up another podcast either tonight or tomorrow that I recorded before I left. The subject is the influence of personality on history. I didn't bring my good podcast mic with me, so that will be the only new one until Dec. 30.
But I will be adding more articles every couple days or so. I just have to do it.
Believe it or not, the site has only been up since Feb. of this year. So I'm just getting warmed up.
My goal was to make it a vast storehouse of knowledge, a combination of refuge and treasure trove of all kinds of wisdom. When I use the term "Fortress of the Mind", this is what I mean.
Thanks for reading, and feel free to offer suggestions, comments, and feedback whenever you want.

RE: Quintus Curtius's blog
I've just read some great historical stuff on Quintus' website, here: http://qcurtius.com/2015/12/21/the-fall-...ille-1936/
(I just wished that Quintus would openly link this fall-of-Sevilla event , with current-day Spain: what with the rise of extreme-left Podemos against conservative PP. I mean, this quote by Quintus:
"Their purpose was to sweep away everything that smacked of the “old Spain”: religion, tradition, social structures, and much else. To this end, many of them found support from interested parties abroad, most notably the Soviet Union, which saw local communist parties as extensions of its own intelligence services."
could be used against Podemos, just changing one word, like that:
"Their purpose was to sweep away everything that smacked of the “old Spain”: religion, tradition, social structures, and much else. To this end, many of them found support from interested parties abroad, most notably Venezuela, which saw local communist parties as extensions of its own intelligence services.")
By the way, another respected forum member has a website-blog (focusing less on past History, mind you): Libertas, at this address:

As some of you guys recall I live in Spain and I'm completely horrified by this outcome. Not surprised by any means - but definitely horrified. While the remainder of Europe (except Germany) is quickly shifting to the right Spain is increasingly slipping the other way. As you are probably aware Iglesias has a communist background and I fear that we are heading into a pretty dark period. It may be time to pack my bags again - I enjoyed a few good years here but if things get out of hand it may be time to move on.

"Years of resentment against leftist arrogance and brutality now swelled to the surface in a fury of retaliatory violence."
Interesting statement. I wonder if we may see a similar uprising against the left in places like Sweden, Holland, Germany, Austria, etc. The left has enjoyed an almost uncontested reign in the past three decades and the events of the past two years have produced a lot of anger and frustration in a large and growing percentage of the populace. Across the board conservative voices are either ignored, suppressed, demonized, or actively silenced. Reports of serious crimes against native citizens are being suppressed. Police forces are stretched to the limit and are suffering the brunt of failed social policies. Meanwhile the arrogance of the left borders the shameless.
As the saying goes - history doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme.

Interesting thing is, I bet Quintus saw the parallel, the similarities between the fall-of-Sevilla times, and current times in Spain, but he didn't say anything about it in his article... he was probably hoping that his readers would make the connection on their own, through their own thinking. If so, subtle writing indeed from Quintus.

RE: Quintus Curtius's blog
Quintus is the Renaissance man of the "manosphere" and more. I'm not sure if many people are aware of this, but Quintus taught himself Arabic, Latin, and Portuguese. Consider that for a moment.
Many of the great writers and authors of renown ranging from Sir Walter Scott to David Hume were self-educated, but the key is that they all knew and studied various languages. This is one of the reasons why Quintus is able to so eloquently flush out some of his thoughts.
Quintus writes for substance and quality. He is the hidden gem of ROK and people might not realize this, but he is the driving intellectual force behind the "NeoMasculine" worldview. I'd suggest that it is he who has influenced Roosh into the worldview he now holds.
If you have a chance to check out Pantheon, it is filled with various stories of lessons from history, individuals, and works of literature and art. I'll be reading it to my kids when it comes to bedtime stories.
"Be a leader and never ever follow" That's what my father, that's what he always told me. So with those words boldly spoken, he sent me down a long and hard road.
My site and my journey into marriage and fatherhood.
Deus Vult brothers.
