Many studies have found that taller people, on average, earn more than their shorter counterparts.

Our estimates suggest that if the average man of about 178 centimeters [5 feet 10 inches] gains an additional five centimeters [2 inches] in height, he would be able to earn an extra $950 per year – which is approximately equal to the wage gain from one extra year of labor market experience,” said study co-author Andrew Leigh, an economist at the Australian National University.

Taller people are also more likely to be perceived as having other good qualities regardless of their actual abilities.

Even factoring out the specific factors here, taller people rate their happiness as being higher:

What the hell, it looks like you are giving guys excuses for why they are not making more money, banging more women, and living a better life by telling them they are too short. This sounds like something that would appear in a women's magazine like cosmo.

And your solution is a joke, putting lifts in your shoes? Women aren't so much attracted to taller men, but more masculine men(cave men), and they associate being tall with that. Some of the guys who consistently pull hot women that I have known are shorter guys with extremely good game, whether it is on the dance floor, or being good at something else. I think articles like this send out the wrong message.

I couldn't agree more. As a short man I know all too well that you are at a disadvantage, not just with women, but in the business world as well. However this is not an insurmountable problem by any means, nor is it the only obstacle that men may face. Build real value in yourself and act like a man. Do you think Mickey Rooney had a problem getting laid? That Russian women didn't look up to the 5'2" Yuri Gagarin? We can't all be movie stars or the first man in space but every man has a chance to make his mark in some way. Don't look for excuses and for heaven's sake if you're short don't wear any of those hideous elevator shoes.

I agree, I have seen some short guys with great game. If I think to the extremely short end of the spectrum they seem to be polarized. Either they act like Sam from the hobbit or like the wolverine. Short guys also seem to have an easier time building a muscular physique, in the same way that petite girls that are fitness models seem to look athletic despite being able to curl only 20 lbs.

Being short may also save you from fatties, as land whales look even fatter next to a short guy.

Height is more important in Western Society.

In Russia and France, height is not consider a high status, i.e. President Putin is 5'7"

His prime minster Dmitry Medvedev is 5'4"

French former president and current president are both 5'7".

Any current and future President of USA is expected to be tall, in America height is consider a status, most American society is driven by a strong desire for status.

Height is more a North American admiration point. Doesn't matter really in Europe, I saw short cats there smashing tail. A good chunk of these game points are applicable almost exclusively to North America. You hardly get Euro cats in here complaining about flaking or other BS like that.

I agree. That could explain why Putin is President, despite his height, I don't think an American President can be elected at 5'7".

I also notice, in my experience Russian, Colombian, and French girls don't really care if your tall. I have always had difficulty with American girls from LA, SF, DC and etc.

How tall was GW Bush? Over 5"7, but he was quite a bit shorter than Obama.

A modern American president can't have facial hair, be an open atheist or be divorced/unmarried. Those are more likely to turn off voters than the man's height.

Height if anything, is something you have to pull off to succeed. There is nothing more despicable than a dweeb/beta/herb who happens to be tall. It talks about wasted potential.

I understand that every edge counts, but if you're going to wear the inserts I think it should be limited to when you're going out and looking for ONS's?

Anyone you're spending more than a drunk night with will probably clue in pretty fast that you're shorter without your shoes.

I'd rather own up my 5 foot 9 stature than have people think I'm insecure about my height. Chicks see that and it's an instant turn off.

Yes, you are right. My assertion was weak on the French having short President. Perhaps the French are different from the West, but they are the West. For example the French hate American culture and they look down on Americans.

Interesting chart. So looks like Truman was the last president on the shorter side and he was still probably tall for his time back jn the early 40s.

Im surprised GW was 6 foot tall though. He looked quite a bit shorter than that standing next to Obama but angles can be deceiving.

only in the US and lesser extent australia/nz and english speaking canada height seems to be an obsession. Surely anything touched by the british puritans ended up as corrupted , rotten and terrible for being a young straight man.
