It is. In fact booked hotel and plane ticket has zero influence on whether you get the visa. Actually US embassy warns the people NOT to book anything until they get the visa because of higher rate of refusal.

Well,maybe I'm biased because the guys I know here who applied and got accepted were all employed in good companies (but in junior positions mostly).Or because Brazil is better economically and Miami needs our money they are making things easier for us.
I couldn't speak for myself though , cause I'm a Portuguese Citizen So I don't need a Visa to the US up to 90 days in the country.But I hear that when you touchdown in US soil you have to pass a very annoying interview with the border police , even for EU citizens.

Don't sweat it Mr. GM. I got interrogated twice, searched, and bag inspected upon returning from C. America. They treat everyone like shit at the border. Funny part is I'm "trusted" by the "guvmint".

I actually need a U.S. Waiver to go to the states now. Major headache.....I hardly go down south anymore.

Having said that, the perfect place for the playa's ball is Montreal.

Problem is Mr.GM that it happens FREQUENTLY, and not just to me, many guys I know, and other players on this very forum!

It's one thing to have this occasionally happen to a few guys, but when reports of cock-blocking instigated by Brazilian dudes comes on from different players all over Brazil, you cannot help but say there is an obvious problem with Brazilian insecure egos and haters. I doubt you have had any rednecks cockblock you in Arkansas or even KNOW ANYONE who has on SEVERAL occasions. Its so bad that a forum member wants you to talk about disarming Braziluan cickblockers instead of having you talk about best bundas of Brazil!

Mixx (and all who suffered abuses from brazilian cavemen), take my word for it, it -really- breaks down to one thing:

venue selection.

I go out like a raging maniac and I NEVER have to deal with these types. Au contraire, where I go I am more worried about being cockblocked by other girls (by that I mean bi/lesbians, not "friends," friends don't tend to cockblock each other here) than huge jiu jitsu thugs with small dicks.

That being said...

There are better places/venues to go in Brazil (Rio, in my case) than what is being displayed to the travelers out there...

Funny you mention social class because as far as I remember, the clubs/events this happened to me the most were in the "upscale" clubs full of patricinhas and perceived high social valué.

I never got cockblocked by a Brazilian in mi careta for example. Seems those caras know they get pussy whenever they want.

I go through bag screening (but not inspection) every time I bring any food to States, and put it in the custom declaration. Not a big deal.

Only once I went through bag searching at Customs when entering US, no idea why. Random screening probably. The CBP staff was very polite though.

Never have been treated like shit at any border crossing in my life. True, they don't kiss your ass, but they're usually polite, respectful and professional.

Very true. I almost always dress up nicely to go out, but occasionally I'll be lagging behind on dry-cleaning/laundry and will have to wear jeans and a dress shirt. Even though this is toward the dressy end of what other guys at the club are wearing, I still feel like a slob and it kills my confidence. Look like a million bucks, feel like a million bucks.

Back to the original topic, +1 vote for Montreal (if this convention ever happens). It's an amazing city with great nightlife, gorgeous women, and it's pretty much half way between the US West Coast and Western Europe.
