I think what El mech is referring to is the situation where a woman suspects, or finds out about her boyfriend cheating, goes crazy or reacts in some way(might just be some shit tests if she only suspects), when she realises that the man doesn't care if she is crazy about the situation, and isn't going to react to her bullshit, she dials it down. She realises she is the one with the least power in the situation and turns down the crazy.
