On another note, several of the quotes by female porn performers struck me as fanciful. Like this one (emphasis mine).

First, how can you punch someone in the face while you're doing them up the butt? Seems physically impossible.

But also, her use of the passive voice makes me think she's lying: "I was punched." Who speaks like that? Most people would say "He punched me." And most angry people would say "The bastard started punching me, and..."

Finally considering the amount of money and clout big-name female porn stars have, had this been real some white knight somewhere would have stepped in and/or she would have sued him then.

Let's be real. We know it's some whore who is just lying. But even if it were a stranger rape, should it really be considered as much of a heinous act as if the victim were just an innocent young girl going to school?

I have seen these women do the most disgusting horrible things just for a few bucks. You're saying it's a crime that is almost equivalent to murder if she does those same things, just with a different guy? You think that is going to ruin her? She is ruined already.

This plays into my larger problem with porn. It's become a freak show. Years ago it was good-looking *natural* women like Annette Haven. Why I am posting this relatively unremarkable police blotter story?

Because this is what actual, real rape in all its gritty reality looks like. The low-class neighborhood; the woman's age (40) and obvious poverty/possible homelessness (collecting recycling bottles to make a few pennies); the late night hour; a younger criminal who has nothing more than a bike to make his escape and nothing more than a knife for a weapon. Note that the cops are notified as a matter of course and the woman gets taken to the hospital immediately.

This is what rape is; it is a relatively rare violent crime, but it does happen in bad neighborhoods from time to time. It is a serious crime -- not more heinous than murder, not more unspeakable than any torture, not a sacrilegious violation that no one could ever comprehend; but a serious crime nonetheless and one that deserves to be punished accordingly.

What we are talking about in this thread -- and in all the campus "assault" threads, and in all the endless Internet chatter ostensibly devoted to the subject -- has literally nothing to do with this. Nothing. It is not "rape" or "assault" or anything remotely resembling these things as they really are.

Words have meanings and the true meaning of the word "rape" is depicted in that East Elmhurst, Queens police blotter entry in its actual gritty and unglamorous reality.
