A glamorous local Russian MP and her husband - both semi-naked on the back seat of their Toyota RAV4 - died when a bomb exploded in the vehicle.

The face of Oksana Bobrovskaya, 30, who was in Vladimir Putin's United Russia Party, was ripped off in the blast in Siberia's largest city, Novosibirsk.

While she and husband Nikita appeared to be having a late-night romp when the car exploded in temperatures of minus 6C near her office, police fear the husband may have detonated the explosives in a fit of jealousy.

Police sources alleged the couple has rowed before the fatal incident and he had accused her of 'cheating' on him with a wealthy lover.

Eyewitnesses who rushed to the scene said that when the bodies were removed from the car, both the MP and her husband were 'naked below the belt'.

They said the bodies were in the rear seat of the car. The couple had a four-year-old daughter

There is a version that he held in his hands a kind of grenade, or a piece of TNT,' said a police source, according to The Siberian Times.

The couple 'had a conflict' during which 'the explosives detonated. Their faces are disfigured', reported another Russian newspaper.

There were also claims that a bomb was planted in the car with the husband as the sole intended victim.



'It was horrific - something you would not wish anyone to see. No heads, glass covered in blood ... a nightmare.'

The female MP's face was 'almost not visible' after the blast, said another witness.

'There was almost no head,' she said.

Bobrovskaya was an MP in the Novosibirsk regional legislature but also worked as deputy general director of a major construction company.

She and her husband died close to the company's office.

Her husband - believed to be in his early 30s - was a former special services officer in the Russian military.


There were claims today that 'their relations were strained because her husband Nikita Bobrovsky was out of work, leaving her as the sole breadwinner'.




Major news outlet LifeNews later reported that an anonymous police source said forensic evidence indicated that the couple did have sex before the explosion.

The source said: 'Presumably during a fierce conflict, he began to force her to perform her conjugal duty by threats and showing her an explosive device.'

I don't buy it. Anything is possible in theory, but the notion of a man intentionally blowing himself up while fucking his wife is extremely remote to the point of absurdity. Given that this is Russia, a thug paradise run in large part by organized crime, the far more likely explanation is that someone wanted this guy dead and planted a bomb in his car, and the wife was just collateral damage. The article itself suggests as much:

A year ago around this time.

Girlfriend of two years who i loved to death ... everything's going well. She was head over heels in love with me at least that's how she acted. We were " The Perfect Couple" according to everyone around us.

Went back to Ethiopia for vacation for 5 weeks and told her i was breaking up with her. My plan was to prank her and propose to her when i came back.Was sort of surprised when she took it very well. Even met her super busy dad and asked him for his daughters hand in marriage while back home.

I come back and find out she got tag teamed by two D-2 Basketball players. (Always told me how much she hated athletes and how arrogant they are). She also had 2 different "boyfriends" besides those guys during that time frame.

All in all banged 4 guys (that i know of) in 5 weeks. When i confronted her in tears she tells me to " stop being emotional and take it like a man!" and how it's my fault. Same girl who a mere 3 months earlier told me that when she dies she wants to get buried in the same casket as me.

Had murder/suicide fantasies for almost half a year afterwards. The only thing that held me back was the love for my father and the relatable similar experiences i read on this forum.

I don't condone what the dude did but i can totally understand where he's coming from.

Dude, you kinda....brought that one on yourself. Women can't handle being single, let alone dumped. Even if she was being "good" up until then. I wouldn't recommend a similar prank in the future.

Hm I'd have to disagree. Although the prank may have been done in poor taste, it benefited him in the end.

No girl that truly loves you/cares about you would get over the relationship that fast and resort to banging random dudes.
