Here in the UK spitting is considered ABH, actual bodily harm, which is a serious offence.

Regarding the video.

Hipster fag deserved the pimp backhand or an open handed slap. Both of which are far more emasculating than KO'ing an obviously inferior physical threat.

It's just not sensible to be knocking a small guy out onto a concrete floor for anything at all when the situation isn't critical. That is true situational awareness...being able to assess the potential ramifications of one's actions on the fly in a stressful environment.

In the US that sort of thing is always determined by state.

In california there's precedent for calling spitting an assault, but it has to be in some special context like spitting on a veteran or spitting on the cop who just arrested you. I can't find any stories of spitting in a bar fight ending in criminal charges for the spitter.

Gotta agree with this ^^. Yes, I concede that the smug dude was being a douche. The smug dude could've flatlined upon hitting his head on the pavement. Real talk, this happens more often than you'd think. The limp bizkit elbowing tryhard is likely getting legal charges pressed against him, which could ruin his life.

I know lots commenters here are supporting this exchange, saying things like "good riddance" and "he got what he deserves" but the fact of the matter is the redneck acted like an aggressive animal going straight towards violence... choosing this option in a civilised society leads to legal repercussions, and causes injury to other people whom at best are not even worth it.

The thing is that you just don't know who is prone to violence like that and who would just walk away, its a gamble and the hipster chose to continue antagonizing him. Maybe the guy is an ex-con who isn't afraid of going back to jail, who knows. Treat every man as if they are willing to inflict that level of violence, I don't necessarily condone a brutal elbow to the face like that, but I've been in enough fights to know when to back down and when not to, don't poke the bear!

Agreed. Anyone who has real world experience with this kind of thing will know that a punch like that can very easily kill someone. Not necessarily the blow,but the impact of the head hitting the concrete.

The other side of this incident is that besides killing someone by accident with a one elbow KO the big guy might run the risk of punching out a true psycho too.

Size doesn't mean shit if little man comes to play next time with a gun or even a knife and carves up mr. limpbizkit.

There are some guys out there who won't take a beating or humiliation as a one off incident. They will come for serious payback later on. Some guy may look like a lame hipster but you never know what sort of sick scenarios are running through someone's head.

I remember once, senior year in High School I was pestering a buddy. We both played offensive line right next to each other for 4 years, so we knew each other well and I felt that entitled me to say whatever I wanted without serious repercussions. He's like 6'4 and quite big, while I'm 5'9 at best, but have a big frame too.

So we're both standing around in the commons and I'm busting his balls, as we all usually do. He's ignoring me, but finally and calmly says, "You better shut the fuck up". I laughed it off and kept on poking and he warned me again I think, but I kept going and then he just quickly punched downward and hit me square in the sternum. I recoil backwards in pain, he calmly shakes his head and says, "I told you to shut the fuck up."

Had to go to the hospital, but it was just a bruised sternum. We were still friends of course. He went on to become a cop, and I learned a valuable lesson that day about poking the tiger.

Here is a slightly different lesson learned by a hipster Med Student White Knight in NOLA...

Moral of the story you see a guy in a hood with an automatic pistol dragging a sloe down the street because he may or may not be her pimp last thing you do is what captain White Knight did - drive your car the wrong way down a one way street and hop out aggressively and confront the guy wearing the hood and holding the automatic pistol... Better off taking a video of the hood rat perp, the girl he dragged off and his vehicle and plate # and then sending to the local 9-11 operator...

White Knight by all indications was looking at a promising career where he might cure or save or comfort thousands of patients instead uses similar hipster self righteousness gets all up in the hood rat's grill and gets capped... the chilling part was watching as the hood rat tried to shot the good doctor med student in the head twice - addled shut up brains end medical careers before they even begin.

Take away is it could have gotten much worse if either was carrying a sidearm in the hipster cold cocked knock out video even though the hipster was a beer drunk smart mouth who deserved an attitude correction.

Too bad the med student wasn't carrying a gun. Stupid to confront an unknown person like that without one. I don't think that was white knighting though. The hood rat had the girl in a choke hold while carrying an automatic weapon. Something clearly needed to be done, just not that.

^^^ I have learned from this forum to stay out of situations that do not involve family or friends. This girl was a hooker (granted hookers are people too) but odds are she would turn against you when the cops showed up much like if you were to intervene when you some guy beating his girlfriend. I understand the idea that the world would be a better place if people stood up but there would be a lot of dead people. Better that criminals just kill their own.
