Anyone here take counterterrorism/active shooter training? Is there any useful advice we can provide for our French brothers? Only things I can remember:

- If you're staying in a hotel, get a room close to the stairwell or fire exit
- If you're in a hostage situation and being rescued, drop to the floor. Do not try to aid the rescuers by fighting your captors. You may just make it more difficult for the rescue team.

Truth is, there really is nothing you can do about the millions of Muslims already there. You can't forcibly stop them from reproducing(which I'm sure is at a faster rate than the natives). It's not like anyone is going to round up every Muslim in France and put them in a concentration camp whether they are guilty or anything or not. Most of them are French citizens and can't be deported and even if you did want to deport them, where will you deport them to? Another country has to be willing to take them in. Not happening.

You can stop all immigration tomorrow and that will help but that's not going to do anything about the millions already there. I actually know moderate French Muslims that are no different than any of us. They may give lip service to religion, but live pretty secular. They drink, go out clubbing, listen to the same music we do, work and live their normal lives and do whatever anyone else does. I hate seeing them all lumped in with these ISIS crazies.

I have actually, but it involves someone who's already armed, but I'll throw it out anyways just in case. They did a mock theater shooting (like the one in Colorado) and every person that did it at first failed and here's why. Instinctive, the bystander with a gun stands up to get his gun unholstered, making himself a target before his weapon is out. The rule was, hit the ground first, get your weapon out, THEN decide what you want to do.

Nope, not a single change I could see. After a while people lived like normal and all muslims got the "cultural enrichers" status again.

In all seriousness this does make me feel a bit sad for the French. The vast majority of French people i've met abroad have been decent and interesting people to talk with.

The concept of Liberté, égalité, fraternité has been horribly corrupted by the elites there.

Europe in general is in serious trouble.

Everyone on this board, I can say with 100% certainty, has had some moment where we had some joy deep inside while seeing someone suffer (i.e. that douche got what he deserved, the seahawks glad they lost, etc.).

Right I agree that there are plenty of normal muslims hell I have even dated some. I'm just saying that loose immagration policies seem to have contributed to this, and at this point they are so ingrained that this will be a challenge for years to come.

Someone else made the comparison of devout Islam to a form of fascism. This is a reasonable notion. The Iraqis and Kurd that I met in the sand box claimed to be serious Muslims, prayed often, didn't drink, minded some other observances; otherwise they broke some serious ethics like watching porn or smoking.

Extremist Islam is like a shackle on the moderate population; due to the foundational organization of it, it's almost impossible for moderates to differentiate themselves from the extremists without endangering themselves as apostates. Couple that with theocratic law emplaced in many "moderate/secular" Islamic countries, and you'll see that it's much like Big Brother. Devout Muslims don't even need to be present to maintain an Islamic theocracy. The Pillars of Islam and Sharia are so tightly confined that a lawyer may have well written them.

I don't know how this will cause the future to pan out. Hope for the best I guess.

Agreed. Whilst it is the minority and the many are innocent, peaceful people. You will also have a large number who will never get their hands dirty but who will somewhat support it with their indifference.

I can guarantee there are moderate factions who knew or could have done something about this. I posted about this before but even in relatively "moderate" islamic nations like Indonesia the moderate factions will sit on their hands while extremists do all the dirty work that they tacitly approve of behind the scenes.
