Not remotely close to a fully autonomous car but autopilot is obviously pretty incredible tech advancement. Getting to the point where you just get into the car with no steering wheel and can go somewhere is so far away unless there is some breakthrough. The only good thing is we might be old enough that we will need an autonomous car by the time it is available to the masses.

I commuted when I was younger, fresh out of college. Occasionally, I find myself driving on some of the routes I used to do on a daily basis and say: "How the fuck did I do that?"

In some cases, commuting long distances is necessary. That's life. But if/when possible, spend the least amount of time possible commuting, it's 100% a quality of life issue.

I've recently started a new job with a 45 minute commute. I've been listening to audiobooks. I've actually got a lot of 'reading' done, although listening to a book was a skill I had to learn.

But yeah, as fun as my new job is, the drive can be draining.

Last year I exchanged a ~40 min round trip car commute for a ~20 min round trip walking commute.

This move initially was for the purpose of upgrading to a better pad with superior bang logistics.

But the walking to work aspect has been a surprising positive.

It get's my blood flowing to the start the day and give's me a chance to listen to a podcast, work on my languages or chat up chicks along the way.
