This is still a very new procedure with regards to being available to the general public. Even then, it is quite expensive.

I am not saying people would be dying left and right even if it was being made available enmasse, but fact is we really don't know much about long term effects.

Look how dangerous tanning beds can be, people used to say they were super safe.

Well to play devil's advocate, imagine you were doing this cryotherapy shit, which you had done hundreds of times before with no adverse effects and suddenly your phone fell. I think it would be a pretty reflexive action to reach down for a quick second to retrieve it before it became irreperably damaged. I could see myself doing that. The girl in that second probably wasn't thinking about blood supply to the brain and other shit like that.

Also, you completely overestimate your average man if you think reaching down to grab an expensive phone in a potentially dangerous situation is something only women would do. Some time back I had the opportunity to shadow an orthopedic surgeon during his clinic days as he saw patients to find surgical candidates. A lot of the injuries were work place related and the patients would obviously describe what had happened. The retardedness of some of these dudes was amazing. They'd mangle their arms and legs in machinery etc for reason of sheer carelessness or stupidity, without even having the excuse of trying to save a valuable. Let's not kid ourselves: people are retarded, men and women both.

Probably stuck her head under the vapour. I'd imagine she either didn't think not to breathe it in and went light headed, or the supercold vapour caused her to reflexitively gasp (same as when you are plunged into ice cold water, that's why so many drown even if the water is not that deep). Then she suffocated and froze up.

She's the perfect candidate for an attempt at re-animation, that's for sure. Most rich people who pay to be frozen after death have other factors that cause the death, and a delay between death and freezing. Not this chick, she's a perfect specimen.

Cryotherapy is essentially ice cold showers and ice baths. The latter have been proven to actually raise the immune system and various other bodily functions. Cryotherapy just does it faster. Burning 500 calories after having gotten a 3 minute deep cold exposure is no little feat.

But of course the technology is a bit more risky than an ice bath, since doing it for 4-5 minutes can already be dangerous.

She was a 24 year old Millennial with plenty of moxy. Men going after their phones woiuld likely pass out at much lower probability. But I have seen plenty of young strapping men pass out just standing as honor guards in the military, so they are not immune.

She was careless neglecting the very real danger she found herself. As others stated here before - when you lift a monstrous weight, you are extra careful unless you want to incur a serious injury. In this case passing out is a potential risk, so one must be extra careful. She may have forgotten to never breathe in when looking for her phone at the bottom. Accidents do happen and usually 24 year olds are not the most careful folk you can find.
