Hasn't bombed hard yet, only been out a few days. That comparison makes no sense.

Actually currently on par with Oceans 11 in US market if you compare day to day.

It'll do okay in USA and flop internationally.

Today's movie review sites are a good marker for who ranks highest on the privilege totem pole. Obviously there weren't enough blacks in the movie to bump it up 20%. Get Out, Black Panther etc - whilst being good movies, are no better than their lesser ranked counterparts.

Getting ~$70mil from its first week is not a bad effort.
Yet typically films earn about 50% less week to week.
With strong competition from Incredibles 2, Jurassic World 2 & then Sicario 2.
It'll be a marathon rather than a sprint to see whether Oceans 8 turns a profit; & a notable profit at that.

It's a bomb no matter what. They stopped making these after the last one made 311 mio. $ worldwide and 350 mio. $ inflation adjusted.

They may make 100 mio. $ domestic and 30-40 mio. $ international. 150 mio. $ won't be enough to break even because of the marketing costs. 20 mio. $ loss is a good propaganda expenditure. Hope it was worth it.

From the reviews it is clear that it suffered from women facing no real adversity, women being picked for the job sometimes off-the-street, unclear motivations, wamyn"loving the science" - 16yo sister of Rihanna is the even greater super-duper tech-genius. Yeah - the real world is filled to the brim with black female IT geniuses and science aficionados - especially aged 16 and being attractive. Those kind of girls are known for their deeply seated introverted intellectual pursuits due to lack of other stimuli.

It's neither a comedy, because it's not funny and it's no action drama, since there is no action.

Oh - and the best part is that they rely on the Asian acrobat man from the other Ocean's movie for most of their plan to succeed. The patriarchy even here makes it happen for them.

It's mostly boring and uneventful with a few stupid spoilers:

+ the entire plan is insanely moronic depending on convincing an A-level actress to hire a failing fashion icon to do a heist.
+ in the end that A-level actress even joins the heist crew because team woman right! The A-level actress made x-times more cash than they did in the heist, why would she risk prison for them? And even the failing fashion designer has little motivation to do it. She is said to have blasted through 18 mio. $ in the last years. So why become a criminal when you can make the money again?
+ They even added an extra heist of stealing a totally unguarded different jewelry that is even worth more than the original 150 mio. $ of jewelry - couple necklaces that just stood there worth 220 mio. $. In reality security would not leave those pieces. Also selling large diamonds like that is anything but easy - large iconic jewelry pieces or old ones are unique - you cannot sell a 20 mio. $ piece that easily and they are not that common. It's easier to steal 1 bio. $ worth of smaller diamonds and sell them than 200 mio. worth of unique famous or large diamonds.

+ ultimately it's all in the propaganda of wamyn being strong and independent
+ team wamyn everywhere combined with weak men - even the insurance detective lets that main bitch go despite knowing that she is guilty. And that guy works for insurance company, so getting a scapegoat would not solve the case at all.

+ Rihanna the IT super genius in dreadlocks has a little 14yo sister who speaks only ebonics, but is so much loving DA SCIENCE that she comes up with a super-magnet special lock-mechanism just by seeing a little vid. Da 14yo girl in da hood knows da science - it's ridiculous.
+ Ultimately they all ride into the sunset with 38.5 mio. $ each while in truth the authorities and the insurance would sift through every person in that museum and they have all their fucking faces on camera, because they all had to waltz in there in night gowns like the women they are. How long would it take to find out that they are neither official mega-rich, famous guests and not staff?
+ In one scene the botox-laden OVER 40 MAIN LEADER OF THE MOSTLY OVER 40-BOTOX WOMEN said: "She is doing it all for the 8yo women who dream of being criminals!" That is the truth right there - idiotic feminazi propaganda - nothing else.

It's a boring propaganda piece that misses the suspense of the previous installments, misses the charismatic power of the male crew.

The shitheads even mixed the propaganda by doing a stint in the movie where supposedly Banksy replaced all the men in a historic painting by women. The propaganda in those movies comes with a sledge-hammer and is about as subtle as Big Red screaming misogyny at you. They joke about Russians hackers that most hackers are Russian - yeah CNN and Hillary bonus confirmed.

Every man who has two balls attached to him should hate such movies with every fiber of his being. Oh - and the A-level actress can now afford to direct movies? How? Only because she made some extra 38 mio $? A-level actresses make significantly more, that does not instantly make them qualified to suddenly be given director's chairs. She certainly earned more than that in her career. The fucking movie is stupid and they killed Danny Ocean shitting on his grave with this stupid feminazi plot.

We've seen the greatest iteration of the Batman / Joker conflict (Dark Knight).
A scientist travel through wormholes, alternate dimensions & time itself (Interstellar).
A 'herculean' yet quite comedic journey for Thor (Thor Ragnarok).
An immense recreation of the battle of Dunkirk (Dunkirk).
The derangement of Deadpool (Deadpool 1 & 2).
World bending action (Doctor Strange).
An alien tyrant causing the rather distinct culmination of ten years of storytelling; for now. (Avengers Infinity War).
Dinosaurs (Jurassic World), giant apes (Kong), giant robots against giant 'Kaiju' (Pacific Rim 1 & 2).
Not to mention any notable Pixar / kids films.

In other words, movies that tend to stand out for one spectacular reason or another.

What in the sam hell did her pointless little heist movie really have to offer...?

If I remember correctly, Mindy Kaling hired a staff of white males as writers on her dopey TV show, and had her character only date white men. I recall the outrage that lasted a day or Teo. I guess that show is no longer on so she is free to blame row men for her failure.

Two weeks in release & it's only earned ~$36mil from the entire foreign market. ~$8mil of which is from Australia alone...
One would hope that has more to do with the inclusion of Cate Blanchette as opposed to any 'girl power' glee.

Either way; t'would appear folk aren't fussed about false feminism in the real world.

The result from the domestic market is only 35 mio. $ adjusted worse than the last Ocean movie. But the foreign result is abysmal, so the entire movie will be making half of the last (which prompted them to stop making them).

The US has enough brainwashed bitterbitches to go watch that crud, but the world needs a lot of more feminism.

And for real - this is what real feminism was all about - a bunch of ageing harpies taking revenge on men with only one in 8 being married. Oh - yeah - that overweight ugly Indian one got a white intellectual boyfriend to travel the world and enrich her vagina.

All others are set to be barren and single in their 50s. It's about right.
