Way to interrupt the World Series, Jetes! We thought everyone agreed not to leak big baseball news until after the World Series had concluded.

At the same time, maybe this isn't baseball news. Jeter is retired now, and hasn't been connected to the Yankees all that much this season. He did show up at Yankee Stadium to celebrate former teammate Bernie Williams, but was not present at the team's home opener and told reporters he didn't miss playing baseball "at all."

And, hey, can you blame him? After spending 20 years playing the most important position on the biggest stage in the country, he's earned himself a break. Now that Jeter no longer has playing obligations, he can work on cultivating a strong relationship with his significant other. What a concept!

Jeter's love life has long been a source of news among the New York media, and that will definitely continue with this announcement. Hopefully, once Jeter and Davis tie the knot, that will go away and he'll be able to happily enjoy life out of the spotlight as a married man.

Good for Jeter, we say. He ought to be able to finally enjoy his private life. We just wish the news didn't come as the Mets were playing in Game 1 of the World Series. Let the Mets have their moment, Jeter!

I can't get mad at this. He should definitely get a prenup though. Unlike most athletes the guy actually is smart and waited until he retired so his career earnings aren't in danger plus as a bonus the girl is about half his age.

Good luck to him...he's had a good run and wants to "settle". He'll do fine because he's Jeter and I'm assuming he'll prenup. ...she's obviously doing very well for herself.

He can easily make this work and it's a good age difference as women around 26 do start to look for more stability. He got the best of all worlds - likely started dating her while he continued to spin plates. Now she is getting rewarded for being a good girl.

At least he is not getting an age-appropriate 40 year old or a 37-year-old while being 23 as other celebrities.



She is a female 10 as they come. What else is a man gonna do? Spread single mothers around the world and watch his kids be raised by an assortment of "boyfriends" and crazy bitches?

As an Oriole fan I absolutely despise the Yankees but I have nothing but mad respect for Jeter. In addition to being a class act, he wrote the How To Book on Women for professional athletes; play the field during the prime of your life, then settle down and get married after retirement. Too bad Tiger Woods didn't read it.

Gotta agree, played the game, banged all sorts of famous and hot women, retired on top, he's got a smokeshow of a fiance now.

Life is good for him, he should absolutely reap the benefits of his work.
