One time a customer walked in and requested a certain product. The price was like $17 after tax. I was having a bit of a trying day, and the guy said well let me go ask my wife and see what she thinks.

In my head I was like you need to ask permission to make a $17 purchase? The fuck?

Almost autonomously I quipped

"Just come back when you get your balls our of your wife's purse"


Needless to say it didnt help my yelp reviews.

I was married for 11 years. Although I had many beta traits while married, I never said that unless it was a big ticket item like a new furnace, for which my wife would want to be consulted, with good reason.

Some married men will say this, for one of two reasons:
1. he doesn't want to buy the item, and wants an excuse to walk away.
2. he really is like the stereotypical, incompetent sitcom Dad. He often makes bad or goofball decisions. Wife has taken on the role of his mother. She is smarter with money. He checks with her to avoid being scolded later.

#1 is beta
#2 is kappa or lambda

Sadly, in these times, one must be the prince of his own nation, His Life. A risky gambit in a time where self indulgence is the name of the game, and people lash out when their glass castle start to fall. To the OP and others who fell oppressed by this, under the following:

You see what others do not, and this is a potential source of power. There is no way to not play the game, so understand the game and play it well. Depressing? Perhaps, however it will keep you out of the cage.

Law 38: Think as you like, but behave like others


Possibly the most frustrating and difficult of the 48 Laws.

Sometimes I just want to give people around me a dose of realness. The other day an older customer/friend asked me if I can see Hillary as president. I said I dont trust something that bleeds for a week and doesnt die to run my country. This was one such instance where I simply should have just let it go and gave a generic answer instead.

That's when knowing PowerTalk, how to be clever comes in hand.

Examples:

-"Oh I can see it and just how it would affect America" (I see how Hillary could fuck American but am stating in a neural way that makes the person believe I am agreeing them)

"I can see how traditionalists fight against what she brings to the presidency" ( I have traditionalist view points and have subtly stated my beliefs as if they weren't my own)

-" I certainly see what she represents"
When asked what, just reply "Well, look at her opponents are and you'll see"



Such games are enjoyable since they allow you to undermine the other person and, if they are average to dim witted in intelligence, have them smile about it. The alternative, having to hold it in and white knuckle, makes you vulnerable to stress and emotional blow outs.

I have a close friend who is a complete SIMP. He makes no bones about buying a woman flowers on a first date, surprising her with lunch or dinner, or random picnics. He has been perpetually single (outside of long-distance r/s) and is 34 years old. He has been friend-zoned sooo much that I actually like hanging out with him because he has a nice stable of women friends. I've hit a few of them and they tell me not to say anything to him so his feelings won't get hurt.
He's a good guy, but constantly finishes last.

Yes I notice it everywhere. It used to bother me until I realized the following:

Betas Make The World Go Round.

If I can get out, if you can get out, anyone can get out. But the world needs betas. They exist to perform necessary functions, a very important one being so that alphas can thrive off their stubborn ignorance.
