Is the military/emergency services a haven for "White Knights" and betas?
Being 'newish' here, give me some slack about this post. First my disclaimers, as I don't want to get suspended again Undecided

1. I know the subject of Military personnel has been touched on here some, with the most recent post about the Soldier coming home to his college girlfriend.

2. I did a search to see if this has already has been spoken about/linked to

3. I posted it here, because it is "Everything Else"

4. If this is in the wrong place, or a duplicate, Moderators, please feel free to move it and or lock it.

Now, to the meat of the matter.

I have been lurking here for a bit, and made a few posts, but one of the things that interests me are the posts about US Military Soldiers/Sailors/Marines/Airmen, etc. Having been in the military myself and having worked as a firefighter, I identify with these guys, and all too often I have seen the ramifications of a deployment and or shift work. In fact, just today, this poor airman came across my Facebook feed:

*DISCLAIMER* THE LINK IS TO A GOFUND ME PAGE. IT IS NOT MINE! I DO NOT KNOW THIS GUY. I AM NOT ASKING FOR DONATIONS! OR FOR YOU TO DONATE TO HIM THE LINK IS HERE ONLY FOR FORUM MEMBERS TO READ HIS STORY AND COMMENT HERE IF YOU SO DESIRE see Airman White Knight here

Basic rundown for TL DR crowd.. Guy is in Airforce, Works as a firefighter in Airforce. After three months of marriage, gets deployed for 6 month tour. Talks to wife daily. Is able to come home 3 weeks early. Talks to her night before he comes home. "Everything is fine". Comes home to empty house. Surprise is on him. Total Time Married.. Nine months.

So, here we have a "Classic White Knight"; His whole life is about "saving others." One would think that both being in the military, and working as a firefighter would be rather "Alpha" things to do. (And to a point they do allow one to scrape in the poosy, based on this alone. I experienced this when I was in the Marines and I could get women quite frequently just because of the uniform) However, do guys like this suffer from classic "White Knight Syndrome"? I feel I may have for sure.

Typically, people who go in the military believe in God, Country, Mom, and Apple Pie, the good guy wins and he always gets the girl. However, that all too often does not seem to be the case. While the individual may be doing 'Alpha' work, I.E. Running in the direction of gunfire, Running into burning Buildings, arresting criminals, etc, this individual's mindset is on saving and helping others, and thusly gets burned when he 'saves' a girl and she leaves.

So, this ponders a couple questions;
Are these men Alpha, beta, or White Knights?
Does their being the society of the Military and/or Emergency Services actually serve to more toward their detriment, particularly in regard to their 'relationships' with women?

At one point in time men of this stature won the girl or he raped the girl in the enemies village and drug her home by her hair. But today, it seems that even in this "Alpha world" men such as these are made out to become betas and White Knights.

I am not necessarily interested in a discussion about women, and how they cheat, etc.. (although that is fine of course) We all know this, and there is PLENTY written about this. I am more interested in your thoughts about the military/emergency services/etc and the people it attracts.

Thanks.

I know some cops, soldiers and firefighters and it seems like alot go in as idealists and then get ground down into red pill/cynical guys after dealing with crap day after day as they age.

I'd argue no, you just have to find the guys that aren't there to save the world but see it as a job.

I work with some bright eyed, deluded, and leftoid steeped people. They do their job so I don't complain. They'll tell you every blue pill talking point you can imagine.

I avoid them and they aren't normally that big unless it's some leftist hell hole like a university or school situation.

RE: Is the military/emergency services a haven for "White Knights" and betas?
Here's a piece of advise: stop questioning yourself and anyone else whether X is beta or Y is alpha. You should not care about this, it's a waste of time. Taking this back to a primal example; consider a Lion/Cheeta/Wolf/Ant/Bee/Plankton who is destined to be alpha of his pack. You really think he became alpha of that pack by questioning every step he took "rawr, is this alpha?", "is growling at a tree alpha?", "is stepping on this piece of earth beta?". No.

As soon as you start questioning yourself or others regarding the alpha/beta/gamma/omega status of anything you cannot possibly be ahead of the curve, you will be always be slightly behind it, no matter how hard you try to follow every advise of perceived experts on the matter what is "alpha" and what is not. In fact, you shouldn't even be bothered by what others perceive of you. This is why some people (example) who play Magic the Gathering in their spare time will be ahead in terms of "alpha value" to some people who join the military and plow through a rain forest each rain season.

I am not saying you can do anything you want, not give a finger about anyone and automatically become someone considered dominant, no. I am just saying that this obsession with the eagerness of labeling everything as alpha/beta will get you nowhere. For example, your question can attract about one hundred arguments whether "the military/emergency services/etc" can be considered either alpha or beta. Which one do you side with?

A better thing to do is just look at yourself and instead think "the military/emergency services/etc, how can it improve myself and satisfy my desires?". Improve what and seek which desires? For that, you have to define what you consider to be the values you seek to achieve in life and whether "that" can help you getting "there". Some people want to help others; so the question for them will be "will the military/emergency services/etc let me help people?". Some people wish to hurt other people for their enjoyment, so they will ask themselves "will the military/emergency services/etc let me hurt people?".

For everyone the answer and outcome is different, though the answer they raise to their own question is formed by their former experiences, observations, nutrition and dozens of other factors. Some people will go in the military and see their strength, stamina and mental health increase. Others will end their service and have lost everything when they return home. Does that make the military/emergency services/etc beta or alpha? It's what you make of it, not what other people perceive it as.

You have to be a pretty damn submissive useful idiot type to read up on what military bureaucracy is like in 2015 and still decide "I want to do this".

A lot of troops didn't do that though, they were peer pressured into joining by family and community who mostly told them just good stuff about military service, and whitewashed the bad parts with some broad strokes platitude like "you have to work hard and sacrifice".

RE: Is the military/emergency services a haven for "White Knights" and betas?
The military is a cross-section of the population skewed toward lower income demographics. We have lots of young men who arrive with no confidence, gain some, and then misdirect it into marrying whales and whatnot. The military has been trying to create white knights out of these vulnerable men for a while now.

A couple years ago in SAPR training, the Air Force taught a scenario in which a general officer was drinking with a subordinate female. The "right" answer was for you, the enlisted airman or company grade officer, to interfere with the general. We were also taught to follow strange men out of a bar if a female airman was leaving with them and again to interfere.

That's pretty much White Knight 101. Get your ass beat, figuratively or literally, because a woman made a decision.

The Air Force guy posted by the OP made a critical mistake. Never wife up any woman and then leave her behind. She cleaned him out like a living cash machine and took her pussy to go.
Note to military prospects. Fapp into a sock during your time and then when you get out get laid. Do not marry before or during the military service.

The type of man you are describing is a dyed-in-the-wool White Knight. If you are in 'saviour' mode in regard to mankind in general, it follows that at some point you will inevitably indulge in some white knighting.

His actions at any given time could be described as Alpha / Beta.

RE: Is the military/emergency services a haven for "White Knights" and betas?
The short answer is yes.

The long answer is it’s complicated.

A lot of fresh eyed 18-22 year olds recruits are going to be white knights. They have been pumped full of brainwashing at a very young and impressionable stage in their lives telling them that they are the USA’s instrument of justice against evil. That’s going to go to some peoples head.

Older guys can be a mixed bag: either they believe all the bullshit and become Captain America in their heads or they reject the bullshit and see the service and the lifestyle for what it is (the good and the bad).

The former tend to be non-combat arms types who haven’t touched a gun since boot camp and the occasional odd qual at the range; they need to make up for the fact that they aren’t doing a real military job (i.e. pushing paper instead) and feel out of place with the stereotype and image expected of them by civilian types. A lot of career officers, who are especially image conscious, are like this. A lot of officers turn into Captain America and preach and enforce their bullshit on everyone below them.

This in combination with the ever-increasing PC’ness of the modern military (more focus on SJW bullshit and appearing like a model citizen as oppose to being focus on being good at your job and getting the mission done first and foremost) makes for a toxic environment and degrades mission performance. It also breeds white-knights who want to emulate and please their superiors.

The latter on the other hand (the combat arms guys) deal with the day to day bullshit and pressures of real military life and know it isn’t all its cracked up to be. They have nothing to prove because they have already proven themselves and therefore, are more likely to see and call out bullshit where they see it. White-knighting and PC’ness can actually get people killed so the culture among many combat arms units breeds a red pill streak. It isn’t perfect however since the overall environment is still toxic as alluded to in the aforementioned paragraph and therefore, some very strong tensions (given what is at stake) can occur between the red pill types and white knights within a combat unit. The current SJW pandering from Obama by allowing women in once former men only combat units will only lead to further tension.

The military certainly encourages a very strict kind "Don't think or question, just follow orders!" thinking and conduct. The orientation phase is there to drill into your this knee-jerk reaction of just doing what you're told to bypass your thinking and instill into you the "virtue" of "doing the right thing", where the right thing is usually "following your orders". Also there's that old mythical romantic idea of "Ooooh I'm doing my duty for my country, I'm getting in there to protect and serve!" that naive betas/white knights are attracted to. And then they come back home and DEMAND respect and for everyone to kiss their ass for serving.

Fuck that shit, nobody asked you to playboy cowboy for pointless wars so don't expect praise for it. WW2 was the only real war because America ACTUALLY got attacked and had to defend itself. All the other wars were "Well, this country on the other side of the world miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight kinda sorta somehow someday in a way potentially get some weapon that could maybe harm us if the stars align so they're triggering us! Time to attack defend!"

When the military was drafted, you got a really wide cross section of the country. You got very different people all in the same place: some wanted to save the world, some wanted to kill, some wanted adventure, some were hicks, others were thugs and criminals, different levels of education from poor to academics, and many soldiers who didn't want to be there. This wide mixture kept the military straight and honest to a point, the pacifist academic tempered the bloodthirsty gung-ho guy while the adventurous guy gave the wimply ones courage and self-esteem. It was harder to form a real hive-mind mentality. Nowadays with the voluntary military, the people with options, education, career goals and generally people who have shit to do don't just. It's a self-selection bias, now you get a military of rejects basically: the criminals and thugs who have no options and money for education, the bloodthirsty and mentally unhinged who just want to shoot people and some naive deluded idealists. No more people who don't want to be there or who could temper the forces. It's a hive mind.

There are certainly many betas and white nights in every profession. I've seen cops cuckold to women plenty. Most men don't learn the true nature of women until they've banged a couple dozen of them. Meaning not many of them. Most of these guys think they will get pussy for "sticking up" for women. Others think it's the right thing to do.

I think you can be chivalrous without being a male feminist. I hold doors open and cook for my current girl but only because she washes my clothes, cleans the dishes, and brings me little gifts randomly. It's a give and take. Most guys just take it way too far and get nothing in return.

This thread is going great.
I see some post from people that not only have never been in the military, but probably never played any team sports.

Ya, I've also seen a lot of posts from people in the European migration thread who have never themselves been an illegal immigrant!

RE: Is the military/emergency services a haven for "White Knights" and betas?
The military is just a microcosm of the male population I would guess.

I see some post from people that not only have never been in the military, but probably never played any team sports.

The only job that isn't full of betas these days is lifestyle coach.
Everyone knows that.

Hear, hear!

Good luck convincing them of that though. I tried in thread after thread but instead end up being lectured by incels, outcasts, and Twitter warriors on how "beta" and "degenerate" the military is because they saw a picture of ten soldiers marching in high heels. *Plucks shrapnel out of my ass* Who am I to judge though, still on the path to becoming truly masculine.

RE: Is the military/emergency services a haven for "White Knights" and betas?
Thank you all for the posts and comments... My apologies for the long delay in regard to my response. I had to move to another country because of work.

Of course since the last post was made, women are now allowed in combat arms in the US Military.. what a mess that will be, and it will be interesting to see how that all plays out in the long run.

Mid Jack.. the SAPR (Sexual Assault Prevention and Response) stuff is almost spot on. It is ridiculous. Here where I am at I ran across the SARC (Sexual Assault Response Coordinator). I had a brief conversation with her, (Of course a her.. and she was a black shebeast) She has been doing EEO in the military for 25 years! Her ENTIRE MILITARY CAREER has been Equal Opportunity, and Sexual Assault Prevention and Training. I am no young man, and have been in the military for close to 2 decades in 3 different branches, and it never dawned on me that these people can make a career out of blue pill ideas and their proliferation.

Unfortunately I was introduced into game late. And while I enjoy reading about it, I enjoy reading about Red Pill that much more. The good news is I can look around me and see things differently. With an educated eye. It has it's advantages. Damn this is a tough pill to swallow though. Gentlemen, thanks for the patience and comments as I learn.

In regard to the name... This was my second change, as I my first name revealed my profession outside of the military, and I would rather be somewhat anonymous here, as I am sure many can understand. For the record. B TAHKE is Russian.. for "With Tank" Call me Bukakke if you like.. I don't mind being a party to it.. and neither does she when its done to her face!

Cheers for now.

МНЕ ПОХУЙ Я В ТАНКЕ!

A Russian and an American are talking:
US- When I'm in a good mood I drive a car painted a light color, says the American. When I'm busy or have a lot of troubles, I drive a darker colored car. When I go for vacation overseas, I pick a brightly colored car.
USSR- Things are much easier in Russia, says the Russian. If you are in a good mood, they will give you a ride in yellow car with a blue stripe. If you feel bad, the car will be white and the stripe red. I was abroad only once, and there I was in a tank.

The long answer is it’s complicated.
...

Well said. I recently spoke to a friend and fellow veteran who suggested I come back into the Army as an officer, now that they've again lowered the age range (they will allow age waivers, based on the number of years of prior military service). I think I may actually qualify, but I have zero interest in putting a uniform back on given any of the nonsense going on nowadays.

It was bad enough when I was in, but lately borders on becoming a genuine national security nightmare. Not long ago, female Rangers were given the tab, then the SecDef commenced force-feeding females into all combat arms (again, with helpful set-asides and exceptions), next - and this is no joke - transsexuals will be encouraged to serve. Fitness standards are so pathetically low I see obese soldiers who would have been thrown out fifteen years ago strutting around with their (unearned and meaningless) black berets and "combat" patches. I simply cannot identify with nor be proud of whatever this irresponsible bureaucratic circus calling itself a military is supposed to represent.

What, exactly, is being defended by this utterly retarded and disjointed organization with no sense of reality or mission? In a country where the borders themselves no longer matter, citizenship is given away like candy and patriotism is frowned upon, what kind of prospects willingly walk into a recruiting station? Not me, anyway. Let them recruit whoever they can find from the the leftist military haters, the milquetoast millennials and the dregs of the LGBT crowd and see how it works out when they can't drone-strike their way to a "victory" while eating Cheetos in a Nevada bunker.

As for white knights, their behavior requires some sense of patriotism. I would be curious where that concept lands on the list of reasons why the modern recruit is at all interested. Considering the current recruiting pool (especially females), I suspect reasons such as pay, college money, child care, benefits, etc. rank much higher than patriotism, perhaps higher than ever, given environment I just described. Therefore, there may not be as many white knights as there once was. After all, to be a white knight, you still have to want to defend something. We could be looking at an omega-man military more than anything.
