I can recall various other forums over the years being over run by SJWs. Reddit isn't a good example since it was founded by SJWs. The very first forum I was on was called gamewinners.com back in the 90's. I don't know if it's SJWs per say but the entire community became a weenie, nanny, language-policing shitshow.

Back in 2002 or so when I was a teenager I was a big fan of the show "24". I'd usually head over to the forum after watching an episode, and for awhile the users were very right leaning. Then over time they got taken over by SJW's as well.

That's to say nothing of Facebook, Wikipedia, ect which are all run by SJW's from the top down.

They're over-represented online. Same with "internet atheists".

I think they tend to gravitate toward 'outcast' subcultures like 'gamer' because they identify with the oppressed; or vice versa - people who think they are 'outcasts' tend to identify with social justice since they have a victim complex and want some nanny state to take care of them.

You won't see nearly as much of it on a bodybuilding, entrepreneurial, or martial arts forum for example.

I see enough of it that it's pretty embarrassing regardless however; on some gamer site I spend a short time on, some mod there decided he was a "transgender woman", then started claiming other posters had no right to discuss feminism with him because he was a woman and they weren't.

There are other factors involved too - such as basement dwellers who've never been able to defend a woman (other than saving Princess Peach from Bowser) having a bunch of pent-up sexual aggression, a la Elliot Rogers, and using internet 'social justice' as an outlet for their desire to defend a woman's honor.

Usually the staff of these sites aren't very political either way, the 'social justice' crowd just use the Alinksy tactic of trying to appear more relevant than they are, known as 'astroturfing'.

Why on earth would a "porn forum" need to exist? God damnit, people are so fucking obsessed with their sexual identity these days, it's disturbing. What you jerk off to does not define you as a person. I think they just lack any kind of a cohesive identity so they gravitate towards using their sexuality as a means of forging one. Couple that with wanting to be a victim, and you've got trans/furry/ otherkin cultures.

Yeah, this is another example of how culture today resembles ancient Rome.

Much as in Roman polytheism, people worshipped and identified with many gods, all of whom were just as fallible and selfish as mortals, we see a resurgence of this today.

Today instead of all people identifying as one under one perfect monotheistic God, our "gods" are celebrities, figures and identities manufactured by the media.

Not to mention the notion of moral relativism being pushed on people, similar to how under Roman paganism there was no one "right" god to worship.

To clarify, by porn forums I mean forums where people discuss pornstars, share clips and so on. Hunting and banning people for "misogyny" there is simply ludicrous, yet apparently it happens even there.

Let's not forget that forums like Something Awful (and a few of the other oid school internet hangouts, save 4chan) had actual protocols for subverting other forums and installing SJW's into positions of power in their targeted communities. They knew exactly how to poison the well. So it was not on accident, it's been a highly deliberate and pernicious effort from the onset.

Well that all started on small forums, and has now spread to the largest forums on the internet endangering us all.

It's an assault on free speech all the same, and it began at the micro level and has now come to the point where people are being arrested and going to jail for having different views from the mainstream narrative.

If you can control what people are allowed to say, you can exercise some control over what they are allowed to think. People think in words; if you scrub certain words out of the common language so people literally don't know them anymore, they'll have a hell of a time articulating the undesirable concepts.

What it boils down to is these people are evil, and they are trying to control everyone else by policing speech and thought.

I checked in on a forum I used to like last weekend to see if things had improved. It's so bad I didn't even bother posting. I can't imagine that the owner - a guy I sort of knew once - is making money off the current posters.

It's been said before on here that their efforts are "laughable". I don't agree. Just look at the culture and SJW bullshit that has run rampant; they successfully have made people believe that their beliefs are normal. I agree that this means they have no lives. That makes fighting them all that much harder...we have shit to do and they eat and breathe subversion day in day out.

There seem to be certain sub-categories of SJWs. I understand that a lot of the Trump supporters on 4Chan and 8Chan are autistic, but I've been told that many of the "pro-science", atheist, anti-alternative medicine fanatics that trawl the internet are also autistic. Those guys aren't so much into other SJW causes like eliminating gender norms and the like, they just feel it's their mission to end any ideas that don't support the science they learned in high school.

Those are the ones you encounter if, for example, you try to make an edit to Wikipedia extolling apple cider vinegar, the benefits of acupuncture, or improve the biography of a scientist who is skeptical of global warming. Those guys will try to influence the house point-of-view on forums that are about those topics.

Every moment you spend interacting with these people is a moment of your life wasted. I could say the same about video games, but I digress.

FYI: Usenet is still a great resource for discussion groups of a more technical nature (programming, etc.) and many of the groups are actually still fairly active all these years later and have great content, completely unmoderated. I like it because it's primarily old-timers who know their shit, and even if some of them are hard left-leaning (or race-trolling conservative, which I dislike just as much), in general anyone who uses the groups to discuss politics too much is shamed and filtered out.

One could argue that having the kind of heavy-handed micromanaged moderation that forums like Reddit do doesn't actually make them any better, it's just a way to enforce the site's intrinsic leftist ideology in the guise of making it a "well-run community" that's amenable to advertising. Pretty much all you need to self-police is a "block" feature and the ability to report and remove the most egregious offenders. Set it up the "right" way and you could probably effectively moderate the whole site with maybe two full-time staff.

But moderators aren't really there to facilitate effective discussion anymore, their purpose is pretty much content-sanitizers so that anyone who drops in by way of Google searches won't get offended and forget to support the advertisers.

Free speech is incompatible with making big revenue. So it's the same with Wikipedia. Same with Stack Exchange. Same with Twitter. Same with...
