I haven't seen a post like this before so I'll add this one

when I was in my teens and early twenties, I lived in a small (20,000 Pop) town and we all sort of knew or knew of each other
The childhood sweethearts would either marry up and pop out kids or split up, she would fuck most of his friends and he would usually hit the road.

We're Australians. There's only 23 million of us in a country the size of the USA, and 6.6 million of those are foreign born immigrants. The small town where I was born has produced a large number of famous athletes, and drug culture is deeply-ingrained. There's little else to do.

We were a very backwards country and didn't really catch up with the rest of the world until the late 90's, with the internet. Hell, when I want to see media depictions that match my childhood, I don't look to the 1970's - it's the American post-war and early-1950's that ring familiar to me.

Sorry to disappoint but I don't have any really good "where is the town bike now" stories. I left my high school town and friends behind after I graduated and then left the country and I only talk to one of them.

I come from a town of 10,000 (actually from a smaller town of 2000 nearby but went to school in the bigger town) and we had a number of these girls.
