People say they have to chose between money and girls, but NYC seems to have both. SFBA seems to be hard mode as far as girls go.

I live in the SFBA, and I looked at how cheap a fucking condo in sunnyside is along the 7. My work would be around the end of the 7 line if I decided to transfer there somehow and my current commute would be about the same amount of time.

I've never been to NY, but I've lived in SF & the south bay. I'll probably be moving to Oakland soon. I grew up in an area with similar weather to NY, so if the dating is good, I don't really mind missing SF's amazing weather.

People who live in NYC, how is it like, where should I live? I would be a tech worker with a tech worker's compensation. I don't like to waste money on rent.

People who have lived in both areas, what is your opinion?

If you're job is on the 7, then anywhere by a 7 stop would be fine...it only takes 50 minutes to go the whole line. Just depends then on if you want to be in Manhattan for nightlife purposes or Queens to be closer to work and save money. If Asians are your flavor, live in Flushing and hit a win-win-win.

Work would be around Chelsea, close to the end of the 7 line in manhattan. The only reason I'm guessing I would choose queens would be money then? Would there be anything else?

Sunnyside is a nice area. It's very close to the east side of Manhattan (10-minute subway ride to Grand Central station) and not overly gentrified like the adjacent Astoria and Long Island City. It's a nice place to live with an urban-residential feel and a somewhat ethnic vibe, although not nearly as a strong as certain other parts of Queens. You won't really find younger people in the neighborhood, though, and if you are heavy into nightgame, you will be in Manhattan a lot anyway. Logistics make things difficult for ONS's and the like, but daygame might mitigate that depending on who you target. There are some people who cringe at the idea of crossing the East River, unless it's to go to a big-name neighborhood (like an Astoria or Williamsburg).

Okay, I must have misunderstood when you said work would be at the end of the 7 line.

If work is in Chelsea, then yes, no reason to live in Queens except to save money. I would in fact live in Chelsea if you can afford it.
