I'm skeptical of Putin's good intentions mostly because, as part of the KGB, he participated in terrorizing his own people.

But I can't help respect the way we he diverts superficial, tabloid level issues and addresses questions based on the fundamental, underlying principles.

Whatever his real intentions, he's incredibly intelligent, highly rational and articulate.

By way of contrast he makes Obama look like the cretin that he is.

Great post! I really enjoyed the Putin interviews, confirms my thoughts all along that we are being fed a lie about Vlad. I now trust Putin more than losers such as Camoron or Obummer.

Now if we could only have a world with Farage as UK Prime Minister and Trump as USA president a lot of the self made problems of the west would disappear.

I must admit that I respect Putin much more than I respect the wimp Obama or the weak and pathetic leaders that we have in Europe. But at the end of the day, Putin does what everybody else does, defend his country's geostrategic interests. And he´s a hypocrite too. He fought a brutal war in Chechnya against the separatists (rightly so in my opinion) yet had no problem slicing up Ukraine or Georgia to destabilize them. He justified the Crimea takeover by stating that it was what the majority of the crimeans wanted in the referendum. Yet would he have permitted a Referendum in Dagestan/Chechnya? And accepted the result?

It's a nickname for the name "Vladimir", like "Bill" is for William(IIRC).
