I go for the prettiest also, and sure I do get plenty of girls who give only one word replies or non-responses. But there are enough girls to offset that, and I'm using tinder as a triage to move the most interested/talkative girls to viber or whatsapp. Then I keep things going on viber, slow cooking them, so by the time I touch down in the Phils they're ready to meet. Just let the froth rise to the top...

I'll say this about Makati... I haven't had much luck with girls from there in my first trip despite it being close to where I stayed. Half my notches were girls from Quezon City, including my favorite filipina whom I took a trip to the province with, and a few more from Paranaque. That told me something about Makati, so this isn't really new.

But just fun without any substantive getting to know gets tiresome. For sure, though, I had some of the best sex ever there. Women in Cebu are probably super similar as in latin america....I'd guess and from what I read...as far as attitude.

Great post OP. I wish I had read this before my first trip there. To give you some background: I was just getting into redpill, relatively short white guy who was disillusioned with western women and looking for something more feminine. When I first landed and experienced the sea of skinny feminine women eye-fucking me and advertising their family oriented-ness, I thought I was in heaven. It quickly went to my head and I saw every problem with rose-colored glasses. I blindly accepted a lot of the bullshit stories they told me because I wanted to. I ignored a lot of red flags when it came to the lying, manipulation, and drama. Anyone that's relatively inexperienced and going there for the first time should read your post as a fair warning. I laughed out loud from how accurate some of your points were. I'd like to add my experiences to some of those.

31. Low time preference:
This was the one of the things that drove me crazy about Filipinos. They will come to you asking for money for a problem because they never save a penny. The weeks leading up to this they're posting pictures of going out to expensive clubs, eating out, and so on. They get a bonus and spend it on a feast for their family, cockfighting and tanduay ice. If they just had a rainy day fund, 90% of their problems would disappear. I suspect this inability to save for productive investment is one of the reasons their economy hasn't quite flourished yet.

32. Manipulative family members:
I don't know how these people can live with themselves. I dated a filipina who had a cousin who never took life seriously, got knocked up, then dumped the kid on her parents and siblings. She'd dissappear for weeks and show up and act like nothing happened, asking for money to raise the kid. Another filipina had brothers who would do shabu (meth?), never work, then try to guilt trip her that she had a nice job in Cebu and never sent back money. I wish more Filipinos would take the attitude that people need to fix the problems they create, but then I guess that would take away some of the warmth they're renowned for.

45. Protectionist economy:
I think this causes huge problems for them. They put their ego ahead of practical issues. They shut down Subic (Clark was shut down voluntarily due to ash from the mt. pinutubo eruption if I recall) because they didn't like the symbolism of having a foreign military base on their soil. Well, they lost a massive chunk of easy GDP as a result, and many of the service industries in the area went belly up. They make it nigh-impossible to legally fully own a business there unless you've got a lot of money to throw around. That drives away foreign investment. The majority of Filipinos don't have the means or inclination to save up re: 31, so jobs are never created. A needless stifling of growth.

47. Issue of squatting:
Another impediment to growth. I was in Bulacan a few years ago and noticed pilons extending out in a valley. I asked the father of the girl I was dating what that was all about. Apparently president Arroyo gave China rights to some islands in the South China Sea in return for them building a rail line between Manila and Angeles. Angeles is a hub for interasian flights, and serves a large expat community. This convenient link would have allowed substantial growth for the economies in Manila and Angeles. However, there was too many squatter villages living along the rail line, that popular support killed the project. At least, that's the story I heard.

A few more things:
94. Take anything a guy whose married to a Filipina says with a massive grain of salt. These guys usually never grow out of the rose-tinted glasses phase and are dyed in the wool blue pill. I was guilty of this for a while. They perpetuate ideas like relieving tampo with supplication. I remember on ROK a few years back a guy who married a filipina said they were sexually conservative, and I laughed my ass off. Same goes for 50-something westerners who just landed in Cebu to run a BPO who get their end wet with a hot 20 year old and instantly fall in love.

95. Not that you should be looking for an LTR, but they are probably the most careless women on the planet when it comes to hiding red flags. You can easily spot pros if they live in Angeles or Pasig, have lots of older men "liking" their facebook or instagram posts, posting photos with the back of a guy in the background or if they have pictures in a nice hotel while claiming they're poor. These girls are always cruising for a better option, yet get jealous at the drop of the hat and expect you to be 110% faithful. Many of them are more than happy to have an older guy that believes she's his little snowflake sending her hundreds of dollars every month while she bangs any hot foreigner who comes through her city. Using tineye on their profile pictures reveal them to be massive hypocrits.

96. Some of the best people you will meet will be the family breadwinners. There's usually a handful of people who are working hard and being exploited by the rest of the family. These people are too nice for their own good, but they're very trustworthy and welcome the friendship of someone who's not trying to get something from them. My ex's father went from a poor rice farmer who didn't own shoes and ate meat only once a year, to a man who was able to provide cars for his 4 children and start businesses for his less well off siblings. He was one of the most generous and wisest people I've ever met.

97. There's a Filipino concept called Utang no Loob, which basically means that if someone does you a favor, you're indebted to them. Read about it, never actually experienced it. The most I've ever gotten for doing massive favors was being able to sit at the head of the table. Just another expat myth. Not worth it.

98. You will be asked to tip for the most mundane things. Porters will grab your luggage without asking, carry it 20 yards, and expect a tip. Guys outside of malls will motion a trike to come forward a few feet and ask for a tip. I normally don't agree with this, but PI is an extremely poor country, and these guys are at least trying to work. There's not many opportunities for most of these people, and I think work ethic should be rewarded, even if it's only a peso or two. This is the most bleeding heart I get.

99. There is a massive disparity in the spectrum of women. You can find ultra poor uneducated virgins who dream of having a man to cook for and a house to clean, and upper class educated women who take being in the kitchen as an insult. When I dated a woman from the visayas, I never got my own drinks and was treated like a king. I also dated a "ramp model" who had a massive chip on her shoulder and couldn't boil an egg. I could never stand either long term. The feminity of the poor women is offset with an almost total inability to understand or converse about interesting or philosophical topics, and it gets boring FAST. The "model" or very upper class women are often raised with a maid in the house who does all the chores, and are used to being treated like princesses their whole lives. They can be super self-absorbed and lack many basic domestic skills. Many times they also have politician or powerful sponsors that might get jealous (even though they're married) about someone sleeping with their mistress, which is bad news for you.

100. Date a Warai woman (those from Samar) at your own risk. Be prepared for massive drama, jealousy, and dragging them out of fights.

I don't think it's as simple as that. While I admit that most girls fall into the poor uneducated housewife or stuck up illustrada categories, there's still a handful of women that fall somewhere between those polarities that could work out if you have the right inclination. These are the women who were raised to learn how to cook and nurture, but are also educated and usually working in fields like nursing and education. They often stay inside, and prefer reading at home or bonding with family over going out and getting wasted. Many Filipinas have extremely happy temperaments, are happy to take on a domestic role, and for the most part shun feminism. Filipino guys have a reputation for leaving after they knock their partner up, so even upper tier Filipinas will often prefer westerners. The hardest part will be screening for a chick that doesn't have the history of all the other sluts, and getting her to give it up before marriage. They're rare, but they're out there.

However, there are some considerations to watch out for, that will be a deal-breaker for some:
- She may still want to give money to poorer family members. If it's your money, you need to accept that some of that money might go to pointless things like high speed internet and parties, maybe worse. This is less of a problem in middle or upper class women.
- If you refuse to give your money, she may want to go back to work. Pay is low and hours are long in PI, so by the time she gets home she will be beat. She will not be the helpful housewife you were expecting if she's getting home later than you with only an hour of free time to spare.
- You will often have to accept some difficult cultural aspects. Laziness, tardiness, thinking in the moment and never planning, friends and family always asking for help, people lying to save face, etc. No culture is perfect.
- Some of the more nurturing, traditional women are religious and saving it for marriage. There's also millions of other women who pass themselves off as virgins to get free respect and devotion in order to lock down gullible men. One thing that makes it harder to tell, is filipinas don't seem as damaged or change their behavior much after riding the carousel. Unless she agrees to get a medical examination showing an intact hymen, you really don't know.
- Even if you're 100% sure she's a virgin and you're devoted to being faithful to her, your patience will be tested to the max. Her coworkers and friends will subtly hit on you, women will eyefuck you, checkout counter girls will ask if you have a girlfriend and where you're from. There's a reason PI is the easiest place in the world to get laid. Remaining celibate would be a herculean task for any moderately attractive guy. This also brings the temptation to break up over the smallest reasons, since there's so many options available.

I will give a hypothetical, idealized situation of a married filipina and westerner:

Every day Jennelyn gets up at 5AM to make breakfast and coffee for her husband, Steve. Steve gets up at 5:30 and eats breakfast while reading the news or checking his email. Jennelyn goes into the living room and watches the news or some dramas while waiting for Steve to finish eating, then cleans the dishes once he's done. She goes back to sleep for a couple hours while Steve goes into his office to run his online business.

He finishes early, and they grab a trike to the mall. She likes to hold his hand in public to scare away the other women, but it's still endearing to him. They buy some groceries, grab lunch and maybe pick out a knock off DVD to watch later. They sit down to grab a mango juice and relax. She's not the smartest woman Steve's ever met, but she knows a surprising amount about current events and the medical field. She got her masters degree in nursing, and because Steve's into fitness, they often have interesting discussions about health. Steve is also interested in business and economics, and sometimes goes off on those tangents. Jen has no idea what he's talking about, but smiles and nods anyway since she knows he enjoys discussing it.

They get back home, Steve works out before going back to work while Jen cleans the house. Sometimes she misses working at the local clinic, but Steve made her choose between her career or being a nurturing wife and mother, and she chose to stay with him. Things will probably get busier once they have their first of 4 babies. She thinks about it and realizes it was the right decision. The main reason she went to school was there was no guarantee she would find a man that could provide for her, but that's no longer a concern. Steve has his problems: he's too frank, he can be too serious at times, and he's tight on money for the family. But he's been loyal and responsible, and he will make a good father. Her other friends are jealous about him. She decides she's lucky to have him.

She gets a phone call from a distant cousin about their daughter getting dengue fever or a car accident and how they need help with the hospital bills. This caused friction with Steve in the past when he found out they used the money to throw a birthday party for their daughter instead, so she avoids the topic these days. They worked out a system where he gives her $200 every month to cover food, medicine, and any other expenses that arise. It's worked out pretty well so far. She decides to give the cousin $50 and finds a way to stretch the rest for the month. Steve doesn't fully understand what she's saying in tagalog over the phone, but can hear a concerned tone and rolls his eyes. Another problem.

Sometimes he missed his days as a player, drinking red horses while watching the sunsets in Boracay, lining up easy hotties to get banged each night. But it got old after a while, and he ran into Jen while waiting in line at 7-11. She didn't put out right away and he lost interest, but she continued to message him and show concern for him. He fell off a motorbike once and she was the only one who showed up to the hospital. They started seeing each other more often and they'd grab coffee after work. She wasn't always super interesting, but she always had a smile on her face and a bubbly personality. She made him feel good. He eventually met her family and saw that they were still together and had a good relationship. She started pressuring him to settle down but he wasn't sure. He couldn't do the celibacy thing and got her to eventually give him her cherry after he promised to be her exclusive boyfriend. She was timid and boring at first, but eventually she got better and she always tried hard to please him.

After a couple years her parents began laying on the pressure for them to marry, and her cousins were gossiping about them breaking up. Jen grew anxious but Steve was in no rush. Eventually he started getting an urge to leave a legacy. Jen was great, but marriage is forever and he wasn't quite ready for those questions just yet. One night they were ready to smash but she forgot to get more birth control. In the heat of the moment they agreed he could just pull out, but after a few days of that he stopped trying. Subconsciously, maybe he wanted it that way. Either way, she didn't say anything. When she became pregnant, he realized he would have to make a decision. It pissed him off when her friends and family would come begging to him, and how she would just give away her hard earned money without asking. Sometimes she would get jealous and go dead silent when other girls checked him out. He didn't like how she would fish for attention on her facebook, or compete with her family members and friends for status. Sometimes he wished she had more interesting things to say. But overall she was a good woman who would cook for him, take care of him when he got sick, would always smile, got along well with her nieces and nephews, and didn't show the least hint of ball busting or feminism. He decided she would make a good mother some day. He asked if she'd be willing to leave work, and she agreed as long as they got married.

After finishing up his work, they had dinner together. She made his favorite, beef kare kare. She watched him eat slightly anxiously, until he smiled and approved. "Masarap". She cleaned up and joined him on the couch. They put in a movie and she curled up to him. The movie was pretty boring, and the way she rubbed his chest was becoming more noticeable. Things heated up and when he picked up her petite frame to take her into the bedroom, she let out an excited gasp. It was still a few months before she started to show, and they wanted to get in as much as they could in the meantime. She really got into it this time and he couldn't last any longer. Afterwards she curled up against him, played with his hair, and asked if he's nervous about being a father. He thought for a moment before answering. "Nope."

To be honest most of my trips have only been for a few weeks at a time. I would still default to OP or someone whose lived there long term. What helped me gain insight into Filipino behavior was reading about their history in between trips and comparing it against what I experienced. It made a lot of the more confusing aspects of their behavior and cultural practices much clearer, and I gained a greater appreciation for the country. If you're interested in history or the Philippines, I would recommend the following:

In Our Image by Stanley Karnow: Probably the most comprehensive history of modern Philippines. Goes into detail on historical events to a point which makes it almost hard to believe. Explains a lot of cultural practices that may seem cryptic to westerners. Dead Season: A fictional novel about the lives and aspirations of families in different social classes trying to survive in rural Philippines. It is fiction, and to an extent exaggerated, but I doubt you will find a book that gives more insight into the mind and living conditions of Filipinos. The Moro Wars: I'd only recommend this if you're interested in the history of the Muslim insurgency in western Mindanao. Well written and fascinating, but a bit overpriced. TLDR: After many devastating battles between the US and Muslims, the Muslims in Mindanao were forced to disarm. This went against hundreds of years of tradition where men and personal weapons were considered inseparable. To them it was considered the equivalent of castration. The Americans only secured this agreement by promising economic development and protection from the Tagals. When the Philippines gained national independence, the new government encouraged immigration to Mindanao, and Muslims were increasingly demographically displaced. Many Moros still feel a sense of betrayal from the American stewards who forced them to disarm in return for protection, then left them to fend to themselves.

A History of the Philippines: Free on kindle. Not as entertaining as the other books, but informative, specifically regarding the pre-American era. As it was written in the early 1900s, most readers will be startled by the discussion of race and nationalism, but I don't think it takes away from the historical value.

I know most on this forum are against importing but I disagree on the above since I know a few friends in the States and Canada that have married sexy Filipinas and their marriages are stronger than most...unlike the majority of my married buddies in T.O. Plus these guys each have tight game, well traveled like most on this forum, in good shape and self made men! Maybe they got lucky!.

No doubt a sweet Russian and Brazilian are good choices but also personal preferences for some. In the end, to each their own.

Here in HZ, I've met a very sweet and super sexy Pinay who is blessed with the body of a Latina. She's very caring, cooks, cleans and takes care of me better than any girl I've been with before. However, she's a bit boring and I am craving for more interesting talks and banter with her but she's just not able to have them. I really should have nothing to complain about her but I feel there's sonething missing. But I can see as described in that fantastic post above by TG that she would make a great wife and mother. There are good girls in every country, including the philippines, you just have to find them, even though they are rarer. Some people actually prefer the filipinas over russians or brazilians. Why not?

I'm sure we have all learned never say never. And regardless if there is a theme on the forum, a guy must always choose what is best for him and what he wants. But being a man, the burden of being responsible is on you. So just plan appropriately if some guy wants to bring a girl back to a Western country. Life is too short to let all the worse case scenarios dominate our lives. But at the same time you can't just go into something like marriage blind.

I've given up on looking for intelligence in women. It's more a question of having some comic ability, some keen observations of obvious things I miss, willingness and ability to do dishes and diapers, and above all a sweet, non-malicious temperament. 85% of her function is to produce and patiently nurture your children. All else is icing on the cake.

The problem is with a doctoral degree and enough other education to have about four college degrees, women have become relatively dumber and dumber as I age. This goes triple for sexually attractive 18-26 women. I wasn't so smart then either. I look for intellectual stimulation from my male professional colleagues.

As far as the time allocation that goes along with that I think I can get it worked out about right. I need mental rest, I can't debate foreign policy or study archaeology all day.

So let's say I need on average (I'm almost 60) four hours of lazy non-intellectual pleasurable rest each day:

- About one hour of compliment, cuddle and sex on average before going to sleep,

- Maybe a couple hours to watch a movie, or a TV show and an hour of playing music with my wife who is trained to play some basic parts .

- An hour to discuss while eating what day-to-day problems we had with our lives during the day and to offer ideas for how to solve things and ( what coffee pot to buy, how to fend off leeching relatives, are we going to summer in Europe or Montana)

My wife just needs to be alert, cooperative, affectionate and reasonably observant to fulfill those things.
Life is not a hollywood movie.

This sounds like a happy life to me, if I don't expect too much and appreciate the affection and work she does providing me with children.

Notice how a lot of married people socialize: The couples get together, the women talk together- and talk, and talk, and talk-- and the men do some serious conversation then some storytelling and play a game , drink, play music-- I'm anti-smoking myself--but everybody's happy.

You just can't expect a fantasy utopia. Are you mad at your dog because he can't play chess? No, you talk doggie talk to him, play with him, and understand he has limitations.

She gives away money to her lazy relatives? As long as she only has access to her allowance, things could be a lot worse. Filipinos of both sexes lack persistent malevolence, which I have addressed elsewhere. The willingness to forgive the useless brother endless times--might have some usefulness for you someday, yes?

Women can DO some things, be good nurses, or movie editors, they can learn practical skills but their actual thinking process is incredibly predictable or totally emotional. Except for occasional practical insights which women can have, their thinking process is incredibly prosaic, boring and social trivia oriented.

American educated women will have lots of IDEAS, but it's like a junk shop owned by an idiot that doesn't know what's in the shop or what to do with it.

Far better a women know her place and not pretend to be more than she is. I don't deny there are outlier smart women who can be excellent and valuable teachers, lawyers whatever, and specifically want to avoid the caveman crap Muslims do to their women, but they just aren't on my level and we'll both be happier if we accept that.

I had a 19 year old Filipina (35+ years my junior) who's listened to my compositions tell me today " I want to have your genius baby." Two of my former girlfriends without me fishing for it commented "You're more intelligent than I am." One observation I have of the Philippines is how boring life is over there. They just don't seem to do much. It's just go to work, then when done try to keep cool by staying indoors in some drab apartment or house, or go to the mall. I think that's another reason they respond so well to western men. We can bring a little excitement into their dull lives. And it doesn't take much to entertain them.

Some of your points are on the money, but you're oversimplifying things. First off, I don't see anyone here saying anything like "Man it's sooo hard to get laid in the Philippines, but because I'm a master player I was able to bang x girls in x days." In fact, often you'll see the opposite, guys talking about how easy it is to score. It doesn't give you bragging rights, but so what? If a guy just wants to get laid with a woman that ticks the boxes for him, why is easy sex such a bad thing?

When it comes to attraction, that's really down to personal preference. I'm apathetic to skin color and curves, but I prefer skinny women, and I prefer petite women. I support this idea. When i was over there I noticed very loyal family bonds. When we'd go into villages and do agricultural presentations it was probably 50% men and 50% mothers pushing their daughters out the door to be 'seen' by affluent white men.

And because we westerners are largely Christian and it is thought that our values are pre-set on Judeo-Christian teachings, we give the Phillipines a "hall pass." We don't look on Phillipina girls as we do theThai, because we say that they're Christian, so it's OK. I think a country that has deep, deep roots in Roman Catholicism forces these young girls to act as providers for the family because the religion teaches that family comes first. As such, they're out there starting to behave like their Thai counterparts. This, in 2015, manifests itself in to an easy lay in the hope that you'll eventually provide for them so they can pass some cash on to the parents. Any suggestion otherwise is foolish.
