As anyone that lives in L.A. (and many other cities, I assume) can tell you, there are billboards everywhere normalizing the gay lifestyle. Whether it's a dating app or a reminder to get HIV tested, it's the new normal. Nobody seems to question it, as I've brought it up in conversation before and people look at me like I'M the one with a problem.

Lots of homeless alcoholics in my city, and all of them claim to be former Marines, SAS, Power Rangers, whatever.

There aren't nearly enough jobs to go around for everyone so I don't judge someone for being homeless. It may be the case they are lazy bums or it is much more likely they worked hard did everything right and got fucked over anyways.

It's one of those things where it's an act in isolation that won't accomplish anything anyway.

I don't know what its like the States but in Canada most homeless people are pretty clearly mentally ill. I stop regularly to talk to bums because I feel bad for them and what they seem to want most is for someone to listen to them. Almost every time I've been able to tell pretty quickly that not everything is working right upstairs. This guy seems to fit that mold

More likely is that he has severe mental problems and was raised by the state after being given/taken away by/from his biological parents. Almost every homeless person I've interacted with both a) has crippling mental problems and b) was brought up in care; many also served in the military (although many claim to have, because people tend to believe them and therefore treat them with more respect). I'm not sure why anybody finds this story interesting or relevant - do you see this guy as an ally or something? He's neither beneficial, nor detrimental to this cause - he's powerless, unstable and wholly irrelevant. No-Enemies-To-The-Right is a good idea and all, but you should be reacting exactly the same way feminists did when Lena Dunham proudly announced she molested her younger sister: by ignoring him.

If what he says is true about serving in 'Nam, then that easily explains his mental health issues.

So the man fought for his country, did some horrible things and experienced some horrible things and was totally broken by it.

Afterwards he comes home, is spit on by the growing left-wing of America. His benefits from the military as a veteran are slashed non-stop by every President except Reagan (and maybe Nixon?).

He worked in a blue-collar job and had a family before it was shipped overseas. Then he is divorce raped when he cannot provide for his wife. The state imposes crushing child-support payments on him and when he is unable to pay he is thrown in jail.

After going to jail for the first time he now has a criminal record and is completely unemployable.

His entire life has been destroyed by forces beyond his control up until this point, and as he wanders streets aimlessly begging he is also forced to endure ads of faggots on top of it all.

But his spirit refuses to be broken. Enough is enough. He doesn't care if he damages a little bit of property - he cannot be sued and jail probably means nothing to him anyways because he's been there so many times for the child-support payments.

So the state can take everything from him, but they cannot break his spirit. Good for him. If I had nothing else to lose other than to make a statement on the internet, I'd smash that ad too.



I don't know for sure if everything I said above matches his situation, but I've seen it enough times to know the chances are high for it to be true. That's why I refrain from judging. I've seen too much injustice in the USA to think the poor deserve their fate.

No parent should have to explain to their kid what "squirt" and "non stop hookups" means and why there's two naked men and/or women hugging.

It's classless and shouldn't be in public. Keep that shit on late night tv and in the back of local magazines that kids shouldn't be reading.

Whoever approved putting that in public should be fired right away. Surely the city has some sort of guidelines for what can be displayed publicly and what can not. I don't see how that could possibly pass those guidelines.

That they don't take down the signs, conspire together to ruin people's lives for saying the wrong things or supporting the wrong things (Brandon Eich, for example), that they don't peacefully coexist with people (trying to shove their ideology down everyone else's throat), that peaceful means to resolve the issue have not and still don't work is tantamount to inviting a violence that will be historical.
