A few years ago Selena Gomez was under attack by crackpot feminist "Lorde", who I don't even want to post pictures of, for her song "Come and get it"





Going through the stations I heard her new song, "Good for you". It's basically a song about just looking good for guys, which is exactly the message that has been lacking with this recent generation of land whales and short haired feminists.

I'm kind of a big fan actually. I like more of her songs compared to all the other female mainstream musicians plus she is exactly my type. The "Good For You" video gives me a raging boner because 10/10 smokeshow + sexy voice + submissive feminine message = mindfuck in this day and age. Feels like a bottle of cool water after a marathon in the desert. Which is ironic because my comment sounds thirty as fuck

I approve of the sentiment in the song but trying to present an image of being grown up and sexually mature is just a marketing ploy being used by every ex-Disney girl right now.

In a couple of years Miley Cyrus will have calmed her image the fuck down to try and get some credibility, just like Christina Aguileta did.

I didn't know who she was when I saw the top photo and instantly assumed I was looking at a girl who couldn't possibly be a day over 16. Google informs me she's 23.
Not the first time I've estimated a girl's age several years too young though (I tend to shoot too low with women and too high with men), although this was quite a gap.

Maybe I've been sabotaging myself by staying away from girls who I think are 15 but in numerous cases are probably 19 or 20. But I guess it's better to err on the side of caution.

It was, in fact, written by two men along with one woman. But still the fact that they chose this message to go with says something. So I think the original poster has a point here.

In the past, we've had men write a lot of other songs for women -- but these were female empowerment anthems or odes to narcissism like "Single Ladies," "What a Girl Wants," "Genie in a Bottle," "According to You," "If You Had My Love," "Mr. Know It All," and a bunch of others I'd rather not even look up.

This trend was so prevalent that by 2011, the TODAY/MSNBC Web site ran an article knocking it. It was titled: "Hey Ladies! Want a Hit Song? Bash a Man!" and it caused at least one feminist writer to practically have seizures.

So if pop's message is changing that says something - whether it's being brought to us by men or not.

Interesting sidenote:

The guy who was behind "Genie in a Bottle," Steve Kipner, also wrote the old psychedelic pop hit "Toast and Marmalade for Tea" (#20 in 1970) and Olivia Newton John's overtly sexual #1 hit "Physical" (1981).

Listening to all three of these songs in chronological order gives us a disturbing commentary on how relations between men and women changed from 1970-2000. We went from poetic romance to women being in-your-face and demanding. You'd think as society became more civilized and less brutal, pop music would become less aggressive and sweeter. But the opposite has happened. Why?

Selena Gomez is welcome in my bed any time. She has great eyes and a great smile. She knows she looks good and she has NEVER changed it. She's never gotten a stupid hair do. She's never dyed it. She knows she looks great, and that's all she has to do.

Her parents gave her the name, and she has definitely lived up to it.
